This is him talking about his game with Clarksville Academy “It’s pretty fun,†said Huntingdon back Kade Pearson, a sophomore who rushed for two touchdowns and passed for another in a 55-point first half for the Mustangs. “We just try to come out and do what we do, and the credit goes to the line. “They come out and do what they do. Without them, us in the backfield … we couldn’t do anything.†Here is some of the interview talking about the Wayne County Wildcats. What he says is the middle paragraph. But Huntingdon is on a collision course with Wayne County set for next week. While officially they’ve been on the collision course for nine weeks now since the season began, Pearson said this game is one he’s been looking forward to since before he played middle school ball. “I was in sixth grade in 2011 when Wayne County beat us here in the second round of the playoffs, and I’ve been waiting for the day to play them again,†Pearson said. The game Pearson referred to was a Class 1A quarterfinal game in which Wayne County won with a fourth-down conversion deep in its own territory that lead to a touchdown that eliminated the previously-undefeated Mustangs from the postseason. Wayne County went on to win the state championship that year. While that game will have no bearing on next week’s game, it probably will be motivation for the current players in the tradition-rich program in Carroll County. Pearson said he knows the Mustangs haven’t had to respond to a close game down the stretch, but he’s confident he and his teammates will be ready if next week’s game – which is for the region championship – goes down to the wire. “No matter what the score is, football is football,†Pearson said. “We’ll try to do what we do if the game’s on the line, and hopefully we’ll run past them. “But Wayne County is a good team, and it probably won’t be easy. We’re looking forward to that.†Kermit talking again now, he is a very humble kid, a great athlete if he stays healthy will show all the doubters he shouldve been playing last year. He talks great about his teammates like the great line we have which do not get enough credit. He even respects his opponents says they will be tough and he is looking forward to playing them. Wayne County fans, we probably wont learn much from any of your footage like you said you wont find out much from us either but this kid is bleeding BLUE AND GOLD. He loves football and never complains, loves the sport, for a sophomore one of the most talented ones I ever seen. Also Wayne County Wildcats fans, you in for a long night as he has got you circled in on your calender. Your quarterback is a great player but I bet if he sees a big #44 about to tackle him he is going to throw that ball away some so he dont get sacked or hit lol. He isnt our only weapon either. Like I said not saying you wont beat us, I'll make my pick soon, but you guys are going to have to keep scoring to have a shot. Im not saying you wont our defense hasnt been challenged by offense as good as yours. I want you guys to prepare hard though cause I want a tight contest and hope I am right and you can keep it good. You got a little advantage cause we gotta make some changed but we got more talent you will find out Friday win or lose. That said GO MUSTANGS!!!!!!

Johnson hurt or not Wayne County still has to find a way to stop us, we still got too many weapons on hand. It does hurt he's a great player but we are still going to be tough to stop. Not saying Wayne County wont but like I said they gonna have to keep scoring on us I believe to have a chance at it. I knew it wouldnt be but was hoping huddl had Wayne Countys game with Scotts Hill, maybe the coaches will give each other a few more games to share on it. We might learn a little from houston county game but doubt we learn much against mcewen. No offense to McEwen you probably not gonna learn much from us on that game either.

He is right Dresden you got a good team but going for 2 needs to be fixed, if you cant kick extra points quarterfinals, and semifinals will stop your season. Need to find someone to kick extra points. 2 point conversions will stop a playoff run. Just saying way it is. I got there late sorry BigSwo, MustangNAtion007 is right too, Union City shouldnt have allowed the interception to cost them a touchdown on same play almost at halftime point.

Not going to get my feeling hurt, dont wanna hurt yours either though, this game will be a tough one for both teams, yall are better than all teams we played and we better than all the ones you played. Huntingdon already know you got a football team cause you beat us when we were undefeated and won state that year. We looking forward to playing you next 2 years only team I wanna play outta our new district. This game will probably be a defensive nightmare for both teams I hink you guys def have to score more than 26 to beat us might be more than 40, not hating I think you will have a hard time stopping us. Win or lose I want you wayne county wildcats fans to tell me what you think of #44 after the game.

Hope you right I've not been to your stadium, I just wanted you to know we bring a lot of fans, we will sit on your side if we have to and most of us will be there early. Don't let one fan speak for everyone. Looks like we will have only one QB this week or only one that'll throw if he wants to, but the people saying we have depth they are right lots of talent and depth that are not on the field starting. I think we are alright and will still win, only thing that hurts is if we make it to semis and play union city, I'd like to have that dual threat qb, but it is what it is. Dylan Johnson is a great QB, running and passing he has speed and is a great leader. We will miss him starting for us this year and hope he will be there playing again but iyiyi a collarbone injury isnt good at all. Dylan Johnson was a good leader in the locker room so it does hurt a lot from that stance too, maybe it'll make mustangs stronger maybe not. I still think we will beat Wayne County without him though. Not being mean or arrogant. I got a lot of confidence in this years team still do. I wouldnt have made statement in Collinwood thread I made if I didnt think it was true. +1 It'll change a lot however I think we still got it in us to do strong this year. It still sucks though, but I couldnt say it better myself. EDIT: How is Jayden Williams heard he got hurt in the game too, another great player on our team.

I am here to warn wayne county fans all stuff I say is in good fun I respect your program a lot but be prepared to hear some stuff that'll make you irrate. Now to answer some quotes. You better I promise you lots of Huntingdon fans will be going to the game. Guru, I am going to say this if you are saying it is awesome that one of our players are hurt you got less class than anyone on the t, I wouldnt wish bad health on anyone either team, thats the way game knows I know but dont say stuff is awesome cause of it.

That's what I'm saying horse knows what he is talking about. Tucker was a great player but when he played the good teams he didnt have good stats. Great players usually have good stats even in games they lose. Might have a bad game but 3. I promise you, and you will probably remember this too that Warbritton did better against Wayne County than Tucker did. Perry County had a good team but most of huntingdons opponents were better than some of the teams perry county played not all of them but that does make a difference. That's why Im going to wait till 2 great 1A games are played before I tell you who I think deserves the award whether they get it or not is another thing as it'll prob go to a person that'll have us shaking our heads lol. I agree and was talking about this a few times with people over they years just not on the t. To be honest it surprises me more than swenson not playing pearson last year. It is hard to way for sure but I think we'd beat Wildcats in playoffs and brought trophy home but it is what it is, not knocking anyone from Wayne County but having them both offensively wouldve been a diff game. You mightve still overcame cause we'd still have to stop u. I Request you to do the stats horse wanted to since you giving out stats. I like how good you are on stat sheet, but when he played against good teams like Wayne County and Huntingdon how were his stats. A great player has good stats even in a game they lose is all I'm saying.

I could be a little biased and tell you some nominations from west tn, but I wanna see 4 teams get battle tested before I tell you, 2 get tested this week 2 get tested next week fair enough I hope. Bump this topic after next friday and I will tell u though. EDIT: Stats dont matter if you playing good teams no offense to any of them everyone rebuilds, just truth. WCHS I'm not a bigheaded fan, but I agree 110% with Zebra on this. Some years last couple of decades some players didnt get nominated that shouldve. So congrats to whoever wins it but its about as prostegious as a grammy award in my opinion.

Fact that there was only one pressbox and the other people filming on huntingdons end might not have been enough room for them to film it, I'm not sure though but I think its usually high school kids that film it. I will try to find out for u though.

BigSwo what time does this game start, and do you wanna meet up before the game, I'm 85% sure going to this game still undecided but I wanna watch a great game and tell the coaching staff my thoughts on these 2 teams. I'm not sure I guess I'll stay on the home sideline since I'm used to sitting on away side when we go there lol.

I hope CA qb is ok, I was hoping with him and kicker our starters might get a little more playing time. Fun Fact: Not only Pearsons cousin but some of the other freshmen getting more playing time than #44 did last year. I want starters out a whole game please give us a little bit of a challenge clarskville academy. Looking like starters will only get 2 whole reg season games this year lol.
