  1. Jeff has the best running back in Tennessee in Chris Shiverdecker. Will that be enough? UT better take a good look at this kid. I am surprised they let so many great ones get away from this area, like Upton to Penn State and Jennings to Vanderbilt. What are your thoughts on JCFootball?
  2. Chris Shiverdecker from Jeff County is by far the best in Tennessee. He is only a Junior and had a spectacular year last year rushing for over 1700 yards and 20 tds. If UT does not recruit and sign this kid, we should all cancel our season tickets. Why does UT allow so much great talent to leave unrecruited? This kid is not big , but as fast and as good of moves as Payton,Sims and Riggs all in one back. Sign him up Fullmer before it is too late.
  3. Wow I cant believe this post is still going strong and the IMAC tourney is long over. The IMAC has some real talented players and I predict more than a few will make it big time
  4. East should be loaded next year. As usual IMACJack doesn't know what he is talking about. West loses very little too. Jeff loses alot but what they have left is very strong and some good young kids coming up. Personally don't see Greenville as strong without Venerable and Cutshaw. There are some definite D-1 players in the IMAC the next few years. Should be some fertile ground for recruiters or scouts. Next year will be up for grabs with Jeff getting the nod. East may be the scariest team of all considering what they did this year with a young team. I am sorry Jack but I don't even see Greeneville in the mix.
  5. They need to change the regional playoffs to best 2 of 3 games. Otherwise it becomes not who has the best team but who has the best "one" pitcher ,as in DB versus Jeff County. Not taking anything away from DB , they have a great team.
  6. A poor performance in just about every category.
  7. Congrats to the Patriots . They looked outstanding and with a little luck should go all the way. Dallas's bat was on fire in the Championship game. Look forward to a big year next year with their returners, JV's and coaches.
  8. Jeff County and Morristown East qualified for the regionals. They will play tonight for the honors, but Jeff will have to lose twice to relinquish the top spot (very doubtful). I suppose that means Jeff should end up playing SH and East DB if things go as expected?
  9. I heard East won 6-3. Venerable did not even play and Basile hit another homerun which makes 4 or 5 for the tournament? Jeff needs to jump all over East tomorrow and win the first game. Leave no doubt going into the regionals. East obviously has some talent and is much better than their non conference record indicates. Not sure they have enough depth at pitcher. Jeff needs to win to play the number two seed which should be Science Hill? Crouch, Long, Bowlin etc should have big day tomorrow with the aluminum.
  10. Good post. But I think Jeff should be prepared for another Greeneville rematch. If they pitch Venerable tonight then they don't have much to throw tomorrow. Hopefully they will. Here is the article in the Sentinel Chapman fires no-hitter for Pats By News Sentinel Staff May 10, 2005 Maybe the Patriots don't like being visitors on their homefield. Maybe Adam Chapman was just fired up. Whatever the motivation, Jefferson County advanced to the District 2-AAA tournament final with a 7-0 win over Greeneville - and a no-hitter by Chapman. The senior struck out 11 (and walked nine) in seven innings of hitless ball to improve to 1-1 on the season. Chapman and the Patriots (23-7) got plenty of support from his batterymate. Catcher Drew Bowlin went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI and a two-run homer. Derek Long also added a two-run homer and was 3-for-3.
  11. Greeneville should beat East easily tonight as they did in the season and the first game of the tournament. I am sure they will pitch Venerable. We can expect an angry crowd after last night and that "foul homerun" call. Chap "the Man" pitched a great game last night despite not having great control. Jeff will be taking the best pitching staff into the regionals if not the state. So watch out. When is the first game?
  12. He is only a sophmore and a great basketball player too. He has all the tools great size, speed, jump and instinct for the ball in the outfield. Has great hand speed and power to the opposite field. Hits the curve ball as well as the fast ball equally well. If he keeps this up he will not have to play in the ACC or SEC, but may end up being a top draft choice out of high school. Don't forget Dallas Crouch who has all of the same skills and is a junior. Hopefully he will follow Drew to UT. Did anyone see Dallas's awesome throw to gun down Venerable at homeplate last night? He needs to forget football and focus on baseball.
  13. I like the way you put that as "recorded as hitting a HR". It was a blast of 350 and was also at least 20 feet foul. I am sure Jeff will play Greeneville again this week and they will be fuming with revenge.
  14. I hope you are not saying the coaches have already picked the coach of the year,POTY and all conference team before the tournament is over? If so what a joke!
  15. Co-MVP's is a possibility, but Bowlin should deserve the nod as his team is still in the run for winning the district. I think we should wait until the end of the tournament to cast the final vote.
  16. They need to wait until the end of the district to determine who is all conference, best player, best coach etc.
  17. Dallas Crouch from Jeff may be the fastest in the IMAC
  18. Dallas Crouch from Jeff may be the fastest in the IMAC
  19. My Bad! Revised list Jeff County Derek Long #1, Storey Chapman Jenkins Bowlin Ausmus and Crouch Greeneville Venerable Murner Dean and Cutshaw Morristown West Bridgewater Bacon Stewart and Wild Morristown East Davis Basile and Shaw Cocke County Hartzell and Depew Cant believe I left Derek off the list. An honest oversight I thought I put him on but probably should have listed all the Jeff County starters . What are your thoughts on the list? I know I probably left some other good players off the list and may have included some average players too. How about Cherokee? Any players?
  20. Just observation and the opinions of others plus stats. How do you see it ? What is your all district team? I may be all wrong?
  21. Bowlin should obviously be a strong candidate for the all state team and all American honors. As far as the top players of the district going into the tournament ,this is how I see it Jeff County Storey Chapman Jenkins Bowlin Ausmus and Crouch Greeneville Venerable Murner Dean and Cutshaw Morristown West Bridgewater Bacon Stewart and Wild Morristown East Davis Basile and Shaw Cocke County Hartzell and Depew
  22. West beat Greeneville tonight and Jeff and East split a pair. In the double header there were quite a few hr bombs. Drew Bowlin had two over left field and Kent Basile for East had two high fliers over center. Bowlin was walked at least twice including a bases loaded intentional walk. First time I have seen one of those in a long time. Bowlin should make it big at UT as a catcher and also watch for Dallas Couch in the future. He should be a good Division 1 prospect of the future along with Basile from East. We should win out against Greeneville and go on to substate and state but nothing is gaurenteed. West has really come on strong and need to be reckoned with in the district.
  23. Don't forget Dallas Crouch from Jeff. Basile has the best arm I have seen. He almost threw one of our players out from deep center on a one hop to the catcher. Dallas has great speed too. As only a junior I expect great things out of him too. Like Bowlin hopefully a few of these guys will go to UT or an SEC team in the future. The IMAC really is a strong district. Maybe the best in East Tennessee. Remember Jeff County beat South Doyle before you over react.
  24. the two Drew's from Jeff,Dalton from East,Venerable from Greeneville.
