  1. It upsets me having to watch some of the best talent in the country get their gane ruined by a bunch of incompetent officials. It's truly upsetting to watch. As an NCAA official, it saddens me that these supervisors would rather make a few dollars as opposed to putting the best product on the floor. You would be amazed how many college officials in the area refuse to work for that crackerjack association. Just another good ole boys club.
  2. Ive spoken with many coaches and administrators in the past and they are sick and tired of the sorry product the Memphis area basketball officials association puts on the floor. Memphis has some of the best prep basketball in the country and the local referee association is still putting people on the floor that couldnt referee a game of "HORSE" without screwing something up. Just recently a couple of other associations formed and got a contract to do the TMSAA Middle Schools in the Memphis metro area. The contract was agreed upon and signed by the director of the association and Memphis Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA). Well, apparently the clownshow supervisors Bill Arata and E.L.Hutton threw a hissy fit because someone else was doing a better job better job at officiating those games and they didnt like it. Well what do you know? The TSSAA Board of Directors held a "emergency" vote to change the bylaws to force the TMSAA schools to use the officials provided by the local association thus exo facto voiding the contract already agreed upon under the bylaws at that time. So whats the need for all the underhanded agreements and shady politics? The MIAA Schools have publicly voiced their displeasure with the sorry product they are getting right now yet the TSSAA goes above and beyond to keep the same bunch of clowns running the show in Memphis.
  3. One of the biggest reasons that we have 6 classes and that we have "wild card" teams is for money. Having a board select "wild cards" allows them to pick teams that have fans that travel well thus allowing for more money to be spent at the gate. Its like a glorified bowl system.
  4. Lots of their players left for Olive Branch High after a rift with the coaches. they have some talent but they are young and playing in a rough region.
  5. Hope it turns out well coach. I enjoyed helping put offiicals together for it last year and lok forward to coming out tomorrow if I can make time. Hope all goes well.
  6. Kingsbury is not that good either. They have won 3 games and the teams they beat won a combined total of 6 games including two of them against each other. They made the playoffs simply because Trezevant had a one year postseason ban. Bolivar also has a real chance to win because Mitchell is talented but has played a weak schedule this season too. Good luck to all the teams from District 14 and 15
  7. Just a quick FYI, the football field at Melrose is not actually at the high school although it is onl a block or so away. Here are the simple directions. Take I-40 West...continue on to Sam Cooper Blvd at Exit 10...Get off at Exit 7 Highland Ave...Follow highland until you pass the University of Memphis and the RR tracks...once you have passed those, the third light should be Park Ave, take a right...The stadium is actually on Park Ave. on the left side a few miles down, you cant miss it. Good Luck tonight.
  8. This game will also have a top notch officiating crew from out of town. Most of these guys have been doing this for 10+ years and college football as well. Good luck to my Lexington Tigers tonight!
