  1. Notredame66... I really love being right. Could my prediction have been any more perfect?
  2. I'm not predicting a shutout, but it will be close to it. When I said they wouldn't be able to "run the ball" I meant that they won't be able to consistently run the ball throughout the whole game. There is always a chance for a long play due to a busted defensive assignment. There is also always the chance of a big kickoff return or something like that. So yea, Indy may score 7-10 points, but Brentwood will (In my humble opinion) control both sides of the line of scrimmage for the majority of the game and win rather easily.
  3. The reality is, Indy will not be able to run the ball on Brentwood. The Bruin defensive front is too good. They have size and depth, and they constantly rotate fresh legs into the game. The sad thing for Indy fans is that Brentwood's secondary is just as good; so if Indy tries to lean on Swayze, it's not going to go well either.
  4. I agree with BackinTN... With the way Brentwood controls the clock with the run game, it will be physically impossible for 63 total points to be scored in this game.
  5. Pemberton has done exactly what he needed to do with the QB situation- get to 2-0 without giving Indy the slightest clue of what to expect this week.
  6. Ha, sorry man! Our D is just really really good. Also, the word in the air around here is that we are going to be doing something very different/interesting on offense tonight. I won't reveal it on here just in case we end up saving it for Independence. If we use it tonight, it won't take you long to figure out what I was referring to.
  7. Top 25 is worth talking about as "one of the top defenses in the STATE"? That's a little funny to me. Being Top 25 doesn't even get you out of the first round of the playoffs...
  8. I can't blame you for being optimistic about your team, but remember that last week was Brentwood's first game also, so you can expect them to be better this week as well. The only difference is, Brentwood played really well last week...
  9. There's no way BHS gives up 17 points. Their D is for real. I'm calling another shutout 21-0
  10. You could check with the Franklin High School Varsity team. They would probably be interested. BOOM
  11. I can finally say it... It's Gameday! What's going to be the best game in the district this week? My vote is for the Indy/Blackman game... I can see that one being a high scoring affair with a nail biter finish.
  12. Don't lump me in with BackinTN, we are not the same person. I did make the comment about Wharton being kicked out of CPA, but I was merely stating what I have heard from people that have close ties with the CPA football team. Just trying to put the facts out there, not attacking anyone. I did get a good laugh at the argument that came from those comments, though. Who really cares about that off the field stuff anyway. If recent history shows us anything, misbehaving off the field will only increase a football's player's chances at playing at an SEC school or in the NFL. Let's get back to talking football.
  13. The Week 3 match up between Brentwood and Indy will determine the winner of the district. It won't really matter though, because they'll likely meet each other in the playoffs again.
  14. He was most certainly kicked out of CPA... I know that for a fact
  15. Brentwood beat Hendersonville in their scrimmage last night. It started off ugly (14-0 Hendersonville) but then the Bruins settled down and scored 3-4 unanswered touchdowns. This Brentwood team looks to be at least 2-deep at every position; so they are going to be tough to beat as they rotate fresh bodies into the game for all 4 quarters.
  16. I went out to watch the BHS/Oakland scrimmage Friday night and was impressed with the what I saw out of the Bruins. I think the score was around 36-6 by the time the JV players took the field for Brentwood (I'm not sure how long Oakland's starters were on the field, but it looked like there were still some starters out there after BHS put their JV in). Brentwood started a new quarterback who looked very mobile and accurate. The Brentwood O-Line has some good size and they look to be the team's best unit. They rotated in 4 or 5 different runningbacks that looked like they will be capable of producing some yardage this year. The defense also looked very deep as they were able to rotate players at almost every position in order to keep players fresh. The only thing that has me worried about this team is their open field tackling; they need to be able to wrap up a little better; but after only 4 days in pads, I wasn't expecting them to have this down pat yet.
  17. With scrimmages beginning tonight and the regular season just two weeks away, I thought I'd go ahead and get a new thread going for everything related to district 11AAA this season.
  18. Here's a pretty extensive list of scrimmages... http://www.usatodayhss.com/nashville/article/prep-football-scrimmage-schedule--2012307300068
  19. Also, I think you all are getting a little ahead of yourselves by saying that Indy is definitely going to win the district and maybe win state this year. Wharton is a heck of a player, but they key words there are: A PLAYER. One player isn't going to make that much of a difference on that team. They lost a LOT of starters from last year from what I've heard, and I just don't see them being able to overcome that with one player. (Of course, I am assuming the BA player isn't going to be able to play this year. If he does, my argument would be a little different).
  20. I'd say the only thing that implicates is that he doesn't know how to act... not that schools are in bidding wars over him.
  21. Wharton left CPA because he was kicked out of school. It had nothing to do with "the highest bidder".
  22. Looks like there could be a new QB at the helm for the bruins this year. Pretty impressive stuff. 7v7's start tonight for the bruins against FRA... Excited to check out this QB battle now that there are no dads involved. http://www.brentwoodhomepage.com/maher-stars-at-underclassmen-combine-invited-to-ou-cms-9507
