  1. With all the private/public talk, one thing can be taken from it. Every once in while in West TN, you'll have studs come out. 6'4-6'5 athletes...or 6'4-6'5 300 linemen. Thats every once in a while. That CAK team had multiple guys like that. If they all grew up in a diameter of 7 miles, then thats ridiculous talent coming out of there. We had 5'10 200 lb guys going up against 6'4 300. It was obvious we were outmatched. Henry Co is one of the bigger teams in our area and they don't have guys like that. The obvious difference is big cities. Memphis Whitehaven had some studs but I guess its just the amount of people in one area. In West Tenn the towns are small, and not many people live in them. In knoxville, memphis, nashville..the population is greater. You have to take that into account when you hear people get on here and blame the loss on private schools. I'll reason with you to whatever extent because Milan has had teams take out private schools and win in the past, no excuses. The story of the CAK-Milan game was right off the bat, Milan should have just ran the ball and made it a respectable game because it was apparent we weren't going to win the game with High back there picking us apart. Hes an exceptional talent. To be honest,I think Milan should be playing 2A because the size of our guys just isn't up to par with 3A. I know it is determined by enrollment but we're never going to be able to compete with the size of some of these teams in the East.
  2. Reitzfan, you've been around for some time. You think Huntingdon would have stopped CAK? lol. you've lost your mind. Milan overachieved, Yeah, I said it, down year. Milans been blowing Huntingdon out the past 5 years until this year. Charlie High would throw for 1,000 on you. Charlie High is the truth. Best high school quarterback/offensive system I've seen in 10 years of going to the State Championships. CAK defense is average but the offense is ridiculous. I don't even think Henry Co. would stop them, much less Maryville. Milan needed turnovers. There was no way they were going to stop CAK, Milan just was outmatched on the OL of CAK and the WR..the WR had 4 inches and faster than Milans DB's. Milan should have caught the kickoff, instead of dropping it. After the pick, they should have ran #29 into the zone to cut the lead. Milan is a run first team and should have taken advantage of that. Arkel Coleman had his way at tailback. I probably would have just taken him out at MLB and left him to tailback duties because Milan was bringing 7 on the blitz and couldnt get to High, even though they missed sacks by not wrapping up. Lets face it..Milan keeps making the state championship game because they have a grip on West Tenn..but im not sure they can keep compete with possibly the best teams in the state in that division of 3A. I would venture out in saying that Alcoa, CAK are the best teams in Tennessee. If CPA's qb had stayed in the game, Milan wouldn't have made it to state. That's a pretty true statement. As I said earlier this is probably the 6th or 7th best team in the last 10 years, potential and size wise. Milan overachieved this season. However, I would have liked to see Milan just do what they do instead of trying to throw the ball in the redzone and kill themselves with penalties. Congrats to CAK on a fine season. Anybody that can beat Alcoa twice should have known CAK was destined to win it all. One thing you can say, is that Milan stays consistent. They play with what they have and have been doing it a long time. One good thing to say is that #29 Arkel Coleman and #3 Finch will be back next season, along with the QB. With about 15 more pounds on Coleman and some height on Finch, I don't think anybody will be able to touch them in the West next season. What is scary is that CAK was young too. With High coming back, you would have to think that they are picked again to win it. The only chance Milan had to win it was to keep the ball, and chew the clock with the power runing game. They strayed away from it and shot themseleves in the foot early with the botched Kickoff, and the INT in the redzone. Hard to come back from being down like that to the offense of CAK. I think most people would agree that Milan should have stuck to the running game and worry about trying to match scores instead of trying to stop High. Reitzfan, one more time..dude you are a joke. Nobody really cares about Huntingdon. You got burnt on a one man route down the middle of the field ,Double Coverage,on your home field with a mintue left in the game. All you had was Warbritton. Now that hes gone, Milans about to start hanging 50 on you and shoving it right down Swensons throat again. Again, Congrats to CAK. I still think CAK and Alcoa right now could beat anyone in this state. I feel unlucky that Milan is 3A having to deal with that two headed beast on the east side of the state. I look for Milan to be back next year with more size and EXP. #29 should be the real deal next season, along with #3 finch. Was #16 for CAK a Sr.?
  3. Run it down their throat HC!..from Milan. We'll be there supporting you.
  4. Only thing im worried about is #29 getting tired. If he was just playing tailback id say that milan scores 21-28 points just by him pounding it. He is very fast also. I think most people just believe he is a big force. However, I don't think he is better than Avery Williamson of 08-09. Personally I think this is the 5th or 6th best Milan team since 1999. 2003, 2008,2009, 2004, 2006, 2011. 2003 offense was the best milans had since the 80's. that 2008-2009 defense was really good. When looking at the TSSAA website..heck Milan should have at minimal 7 other state championships if not for only 3 classes in the 80s. Running into MUS and Brentwood Academy. Talk about fair? Phew... Back to this years game.. Charlie High, I believe, is the truth. Lets be realistic..Kids thrown for 4 thousand + yards. The only way to beat CAK is to keep the ball from them and score on your own long drives. Milan is the one team capable of doing that. I saw the highlights from the Alcoa game and after seeing the Alcoa of 2008-2009, this 2011 Alcoa team looked undersized compared to this Milan squad. Especially talent wise on the outside. Milan isn't going to give you a man to man on the outside without safety help..thats just too easy. Milan isn't going to have a 13 play, 80 yard drive..just to go out there and give you what you want on the perimeter. I assume they will play that bend but don't break and send some pressure the entire game. Morris is no slouch. He is a great high school football coach. He'll try to keep that ball as long as he can. BTW, this is the first season I have seen where Morris kept his tricks in his bag all season. IMHO, ive seen 7-10 plays in the past 7 years that were automatic TD's. I haven't seen him run one of those yet. On another note, Milan QB threw for 300 against Goodpasture from the shotgun when Milan took that early 0-21 hole. I believe he can sit back there and pick apart a defense. Milan is just not a running team at all. They are very balanced. Just determines the play calling. Morris wants to run it first, but he'll let it loose.
  5. If CAK watches that fairview film they will see Coleman with that one handed pick. He controls the middle of the field, seams and drags. The kids an animal. Milan has 7 INT's this postseason. 2 returned for TD's. 5 by LB's on slot recievers/TE's. 2 by FS.
  6. going to take at least 3 of ya :popcorneater: :popcorneater: follow link.. Milan's #29 Coleman
  7. Wouldnt kick it to jeff demps from Milan. Or chris rainey. I have a feeling that big body Tailback from Milan is going to be stiff arming yellow jerseys all the way to paydirt.
