  1. Karns won 80-73. I missed that one. U might be right SS.
  2. No, not this year SS. Powell is better than Karns. Time will tell. As a matter a fact 6-2 Powell is at 5-2 Karns tonight. I'll say Powell by 10+.
  3. Oak by as many as they want. Not a knock on ac, it's gonna be that way vs everyone in district except Powell and those will be 20 points games. Teams are in for a long year in our district.
  4. Well, I haven't heard too much at work with all this OR,CC,AC Football going on but I heard they had an ok summer, that they are real young but talented, and have size for a change. Idk what's happened up there but all sports have practically no seniors and that goes for bball. Football only has a couple. I heard the linebacker, Phillips I think is a stud. Only a sophomore but like 6-3,210. He will help I'm sure. I've been hearing the Berry kid from Lafollette is looking real good as a freshman. Heard he had a real good game vs Maryville guards this summer. Other than that, it's really been kinda quiet. I hear about the same for AC. It OR, Karns, Powell and central form what I hear. I'll find out next week at work and report back on the bball thread. Good luck Friday night, I hope both teams stay healthy. See you at big eds maybe.
  5. Just messing around. The thread was kinda getting away from the game and thought I'd get everyone back in the moment. This games for second in the region, there's no team that should be thinking of when to pull the starters and I'm sure that's not even on Gaddis mind. Now if it's 28-0 at half, he does have to think about it.
  6. LMAO!!!!! Guys are too easy. I knew taking a shot at Gaddis would get you all going. Lol. Man, that's funny.
  7. Dang, already talking about when to put the reserves in? Now that's either confidence or arrogance, I can't tell. Man, I hope CC beats you guys, I like it a lot better when all the OR faithful are fighting each other on here. The best thing that could happen to CC is that it's a close game late and Gaddis has to start coaching instead of talent just winning. Then it could get interesting.
  8. Didn't mean it that way. Sounded bad now that I look at it. Just meant were not all as, let's see, rabid I guess is the word. Trust me, I feel your pain with the AC fans, my kid didn't get treated right there either, but I've let all that go now. I was bitter for a couple years and said some things I wish I could take back. No offense. Oh, by the way, I contribute to the program, be sure of that. I just don't tell everyone I see.
  9. Cool. I thought so. Yea AC has played a lot of young kids. They'll get better for sure. That's just such a tough district. I also will be pulling for OR, along with all the other district teams. Just not this week, lol. I think OR and Farragut have teams, with the right match ups, that can go deep in the playoffs. Good luck Friday night.
  10. Yea, I'd probably say 4AAA Too. But after what chill said about Karns and Powell returning everyone, and Central should be pretty good, maybe we're closer than I thought. Top four in each looks likeMaryville OR beardan. Karns Heritage. Powell West. Central That's not as bad as I thought. Of course each district has some other teams that can win games too, this is just the ones I see as having the best chance to finish near top.
  11. Hey Space, you and mavmax are the ones that jumped over here on the CC/OR thread. You don't see me over there making fun of your miserable season. I know u guys have this personal thing with Hog, but Hog doesn't really represent the CC fan base. There's and old saying" Misery loves company". So u wanna jump over here and join our company. Lol. If you guys were true fans of football, you all would load up and come watch CC next week in the playoffs since you don't have anything to do that night. Idk about hog, but I haven't posted on any of your threads since u left the district. I know a lot of people there and work with a bunch of them, only wish u guys good luck, no hater here. I'm not crying, I just thought it was a good rivalry for Cc. They really don't have a true RIVAL on their schedule without AC. But AC has Clinton and OR. Just a fun game, that's all, even being on the short end of it.
  12. Well, all contracts have buyouts. I'm sure if you paid mo east the usual 500.00 buyout fee, CC would do the same. The gate would be three times as big and prolly be on tv. It goes back to the game should've never been cancelled in the first place. That'd be like OR being 37-1 vs CC and then cancel the series. You guys have a large edge in the series, but if you look back at it through the years AC has shied away in the years CC was even close to good. This of course is minus the years we had to play. Its a pretty good way to keep a 16-4 edge in a series if you cancel it every time u know ur going to lose. If AC stays in there current division, if I was CC and wanted to resume the series I wouldn't do it unless it's a ten year home and home contract. If not, I'd tell AC to kiss it, CC is going to fill the stands weather their 2-8 or 8-2. We won't miss the gate, but AC will.
  13. Haha, don't play that card Space. We both have three open dates next year all u guys have to do is sign the contract.
  14. I'll say OR wins this one just because of experience. But, 49-7? , 49-14, idk. That's a thrashing. I'll say 34-21, and don't care when they score, late or early, it still counts. With that said, I'll also say this. CC plays two or three seniors, thats it! I'll say that they may lose Friday, but will go on the road and win their playoff game. Local teams have seen this spread offense for the last few years and are learning to defense it with pass rush and containment, but the other region will have trouble with it. If I remember right CC was the last team from our district still playing last year? Right? May be wrong there but I think I'm right. They give teams fits with that spread, and their defense is very good. The bye week is a good or bad thing. Idk. All you OR guys better enjoy this one, because CC WILL be one of the teams to beat next year. They literally have everyone back, plus two outstanding QB's! I say they win the district and advance to third round next year. Beating everyone in the district!! Go ahead and save this post so u can see this time next year what I'm telling you. They'll be a top 1-3 team in state next year, and the next for that matter.
  15. That's some good info. Good for district too. Central should be pretty good, they played good ball after Xmas. I think Halls, ac, cc, and Gibbs are all kinda young aren't they? Crocket will be good but they lack overall size don't they?
  16. Before anyone thinks I'm crazy, I was just messing around. Lol. Good luck to both teams.
  17. Oh yea, don't you guys have an important game Friday? Hmmm. I hear your going to kill CC. Here's my prediction:: Tee has 2 catches for minus 11 yards, your qb throws four pics, your RB fumbles twice. CC runs for 350 yards, passes for 250, returns a KO for a TD, and CC wins a squeeker 13-11
  18. Wow, am I missing something here. Is Grace a state contender in their division? That's a serious question. IDK. I'd be very surprised if Grace beat OR even without the football players. I'm serious when I say OR's second five would win our district going away. That's how deep and talented they are!! They've got two or three freshman and sophomore that would start for any other teams. Again, I'd like to hear how good Grace is supposed to be this year. I'd like to catch a game if I can.
  19. Good point Norman. When two teams split by 3-4 points u can say man these teams are even. But when one wins by 20 and loses to that same team by 38? It tells me each team that lost couldn't throw it in the ocean that night. I mean you just can't read too much into those two games. The common thread for these three teams is coaching. Blevins, green and coachE are three of the best going right now. Kids want to play for them, and it shows.
  20. Yea, I don't know all the names like u guys but I did know the miller kid tho. I'm not talking about offensive post play with maryville, most of there action going to come from guards. I'm talking interior defense. They aren't very good defenders is what I was trying to say. I also don't want to slight Maryville, there as good as anyone around here. Just don't see them as "THE" team to beat.
  21. I have not seen him, SS. But, the guys at the plant say he's just an impressive athlete. I have to listen to all this oak ridge crap every year down here. Lol. One guy has a kid in the system and he said he's got to work on his shot a little, but he reminded him of Ryan hall the way he takes it hard to the basket. IDK tho. He also claimed you all would win more games than any two teams in district put together. Lol. I wish our district was better top to bottom, if OR wasn't in it we'd have a real competitive district.
  22. Yea those Lawson boys were good for sure. But, the way Middleton was playing inside, and the one Lawson boy loved hanging around the perimeter where Tee could have contained him maybe. I felt your next 5-6 players were better. We'll never know, but I watched the whole tourney and no one there was more athletic than you guys. Yea, I heard he's so good he's moving Gee to the off guard. Man that's crazy!! As I think Gee is a terrific point guard.
  23. Yes. Football player that should've been playing ball all along. I heard he's good enough to play for a mid major or high D2, for just playing one season! Lol. You guys are spoiled down there! As for all these guys asking how OR is "practicing"? C'mon man!!! It's not really practice, it's conditioning. All the schools do it, ALL. Some more than others but all do it. It's kinda like a structured open gym with no "REAL" coaching, wink- wink. Lol. SS, I haven't missed on you guys too much the last 3 years have I? You guys are legitimate contenders. Maryville could develop into contenders, along with Bearden, SH and a couple others, but IMO, ORis the best team this side of Shelby county, in any class. I'm not up on too many of those Memphis schools but I know if OR had played the first Half like they played the second at MTSU, you'd be looking at back to back gold balls. Again, JMO.
  24. Ok, I don't have a dog in this fight, but I too have seen both teams play this summer and the last three or four years. IMO OR is the better team by far, mary vile has the better coach, that's it. Not to take anything away from Green. The kid coming out for OR this year is a game changer! Would be the best player on any other team in district. If Middleton plays, which I hear he's not, this is a championship potential team. Without him they can still get to the finals, don't know if they can win, but wouldn't bet against them. Middleton was the best player OR had on the floor at state, period. He needs to bring that intensity every game. Unfortunately, our district doesn't offer up much of a fight so OR has to go elsewhere for good competition. Oh, and Fulton will not beat them this year either. As for maryville, they have good guard play, excellent coaching, and always play hard. But, their interior defense, especially in the low post is not very good. If you get the ball inside, you stand a better than 50% chance of scoring from the floor! and even higher% because they'll foul you. They'll beat most teams around here because of shear numbers and talent, but it'll really show when they play the better, bigger teams. If you think there better than OR you are defiantly a homer with blinders on. Heck, I actually think Bearden may be the one to watch out for in that region.
  25. Lol. That's funny!! Yea I saw him, he's legit. But like the Russian in the rocky movie, he better be ready for 15 rounds. I've seen a lot of good defenders get winded chasing those receivers around the last few seasons. I'm actually getting to go to this game as I'm off Friday. Seriously tho, I hope CC plays well, I I believe they will. I think it'll be better than people think. #56 for CC is a monster too. U definitely will see him in farraguts backfield. If you run at him it's a two yard gain. Best defensive lineman CC has EVER had, and we've had two all staters the last couple years if that tells you anything. Don't know his last name, they've been calling him big mike since second grade. On a lighter note, I see where you guys beat sevier county while I was gone. That's a good win since I had them going to state. Congrats.
