  1. Pretty exciting game. PC won 52 - 47. Crange missed a bunch of free throws late in the game (at least the front end of 1 and 1). If they meet in the District tournament, could be anyone's game.
  2. PC has had some good years in the early 2000s. However, 2005 was the last State Tournament they have been to which ended a run of 10 trips to the State in 15 years. 2000 33-2 State Tournament Final 4 2001 30-5 State Tournament appearance (chances were good they win it if Adam Asberry would have stayed at PC instead of transfering to Upperman - he was really good) 2005 29-6 State Tournament appearance 2006 26-9 Sub-State 2007 28-9 Sub-State
  3. After watching PC and Clarkrange play last night, I believe at this point in the season, PC is about 4-5 points better than Clarkrange. Granted Clarkrange wasn't hitting their 3 pointers and PC hit a few in the beginning. But the game was at Clarkrange and that is a difficult place to win. If Clarkrange would have stayed with taking the ball to the hoop like they did in the 3rd quarter, they would probably have won. Clarkrange has a tendency to shoot too many threes when they go on a run.
  4. District 7A will be close when it's all said and done. It is too early to be predicting going undefeated. Clarkrange is a type of team that when they show up can beat you on any given night. The same seems to be true with PC. The game this Tuesday should be a good one.
  5. PC playing at Clarkrange next Tuesday night (Dec. 13) should be a good game. Clarkrange is tough to beat at home and have a pretty good defense. Clarkrange is coming off two big district wins over Jackson County and Clay County.
  6. If Clay Co. could play the last minute in the 4th quarter again, I would say they wouldn't have tried to score with about 30 seconds to go. Clay was up 3 points with 30-40 seconds to go. You have to credit Clarkrange for staying strong and finishing strong to get the win.
  7. One of the Henry twins hit a long range 3 pointer with about 3.4 seconds to go after the shot was made to win it for Clarkrange. Clarkrange's defense seemed to be the difference in this game. Good game by both teams. #3 for Clay Co. can create well. Clarkrange has needs to pass the ball more effectively. These teams are pretty well matched with the slight edge to Clarkrange.
  8. I agree, LA didn't manage the end of the game well. The Stone team seemed to have a plan of attack while LA was trying not to lose. It will definitely be a good game in a few weeks at Stone Memorial between the two. LA has a good team, but they need to execute better at the end of games.
  9. Yes. The game was at Livingston. Livingston was leading 68-63 with about 1 minute 15 seconds to go but Stone hit a three pointer to cut the game to 2. The Ramsey kid (#25, I believe) is good. I am not sure on his totals but the kid can shoot just about any where on the court. Both teams made a bunch of threes (12-15 at least, or it seemed like it).
  10. Stone Memorial won by 2 (70-68, I believe that was the score). Great coaching and two great teams playing each other tonight.
  11. I agree 100%. He was actually my high school's (Pickett County) coach about 15-16 years ago (his first years in coaching). He was a little more vocal then, though, but his focus on details was what won a lot of games during his PC years (not to mention a State Championship).
  12. Are you speaking of Stone? If so, Coach Buck is a great coach. He knows how to make a team play above their talent levels.
  13. I watched Clarkrange play Maplewood and Westmoreland last Tuesday and thought they played hard against Maplewood but not sure what happened during the latter game. I predict Clarkrange will see a lot of press this year if they don't learn to pass through it.
