  1. Very astute call. Sounds like you've watched a game or two...ha. I'm the same way too, I am a fan of run and gun especially with good athletes, but at the end of the day, it's the small things that puts the team over the top.
  2. I've saw both teams play and Key was outstanding. Strong is outstanding too. Strong has a very nice touch around the rim. He seems to be harder to guard since he gets so much elevation on his shot. IMO, I believe Clay is set up better this year to win Class A ST than the 2017 team even with underclassmen. Coach Edwards is a class coach.
  3. I'd have to watch the replay and see who called what. I do know that the ref that call the warning also called a 5-sec call in 3 seconds at the end of the game. At least it seemed very short time. That was for UHS. In any event, if I were coaching UHS, this would give me the fuel to get my team to win sub-state and go to the state tournament. Winning is in the mind first..one must press forward or these same types of thoughts creep in during a 1pt game in the 4th quarter..good luck to UHS.
  4. I attended this game. I'm not from UHS or York. I haven't watched either team this year. What I saw was a York team come in and make some difficult shots in the first half. If they miss those shots, UHS would have won going away because some of the shot selection of York's shots were questionable. But when you hit shots, you look good and York hit those and they got favorable bounces off the rims. Having said that.....UHS hand checks and bumps from the backside a lot. When a player is out of position, those bumps will get called every time. I am not surprised that UHS got so many fouls called against them, they are "handsy." It didn't help that UHS coach was complaining about so many calls. In fact, one of the refs gave him a warning due to being outside of the coaches box. I can't say I blame the ref in that case. The ref (yes, one ref) set the tone from the start of this game. UHS didn't adjust and York made shots. UHS appears to be very deep, but credit York for making big shots. Perhaps there were calls that went for York, but there appeared to be a few that went for UHS. But, it is not a good look to complain about every other foul (from players and coaches). Because, I can almost guarantee it will not help officiating. Sure, I would be in favor to let the officials know that was a terrible call, but not all the time. In the end, the latter makes one look like a complainer.
  5. Really wanted them to win last year. Glad they did this year. Congratulations!
  6. Really impressed with CA. They had some nice plays drawn up. Manassas was really talented, but it seemed like a few players were just chucking it.
  7. Fayetteville had more total rebounds in the 1st qtr (21) than Humboldt did the entire game (20). Fayetteville ended with 49. The game definitely changed when #20 went out. That's too bad, I wanted to see both at full strength.
  8. Watched this game. Game changed when #20 when out. He had 16 points 8 boards the first half in only 13 minutes.
  9. Got us a game between Humboldt and Fayetville so far.
  10. #30 for UH had 36 of teams 49 pts against McKenzie. Lost though.
  11. Congrats to Coach Walker, the coach that PC let get away.
  12. I watch a lot of college baseball and if his numbers translate (which no doubt will since he competes against quality opponents), he should be drafted highly by MLB. I would like to see him play at Vandy, but it would be hard to pass up the opportunity to play immediately in MiLB/MLB.
  13. Deal set - http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/22834086/penny-hardaway-agrees-memphis-tigers-coach
  14. I was curious about this comment. So I went and checked out last year's State Tournament Baseball and Weathers is a gamer! He had two complete game shutouts with 28 Ks and batted 9 for 11 (with 2 homers). Those are almost unbelievable numbers.
  15. Douglass couldn't weather the storm Loretto put on them.
  16. Loretto up 64 62 2:27 4th. Loretto ball.
  17. Not so fast...49 48 game Loretto up 7:26 4th
  18. Loretto up 49 42 end of 3rd. Does Loretto have enough gas in the tank?
  19. They did play only 6 players. Could be a factor.
  20. Douglass comes out hot scores 5 straight to cut lead 32 27
  21. And for Class A Loretto. They're up 32 22 at halftime. However Douglass has a tendency to finally wear you down.
