  1. Did not the TSSAA arrange the schedules this season? Should they not help find another game(s) for teams that need them? Am I thinking wrong here?
  2. I’ll be bold and say SG 21+. Why not SG has a little speed and some good skills guys with the option to run or pass. Defense is solid. They’re kinda small at the line of scrimmage, but athletic and physical. It’s not how big the dogs is, it’s how big the fight is the dog.
  3. If JC doesn’t bring any physicality, it’ll be a long night. DB’s a better team than than what some of us had anticipated.
  4. A friend of mine knows the coach for WG. Here’s my thoughts after speaking with him about the CD game. The Speed of the CD backs they couldn’t contain & some lingering effects from the prior physical game with the Highlanders didn’t help their cause. I do not know much about Eagleton, but it sounds like they put in a good effort against a physical Oneida team. This could perhaps be the game where Eagleton gets their 1st W. Which WG team shows up, the team that went to Roan Mtn or the team that hosted CD. It’s a region game and getting the W will go along way. If the WG and CD game would have been close, then I would have probably leaned toward WG. I’m currently leaning toward EA, but it’s very early in the week. Either way, I think it’s going to be a close game.
  5. Who you picking? Friday 9/8 @ at the black hole. Rebels vs Black Knights. Big game, not for region, but for bragging rights. County Rivalry and the hole will be packed! Last year CD took SG to the wood shed and gave them a good ole whipping. CD fans, who’s your key players? SG fans, who’s your key players? Interested to see how this turn outs. I think I have a pretty good idea, but gonna hold my thoughts for now.
  6. They played back in 2011 & 2012 and split. Let’s get it rolling. Who’s gonna get the W and why? Who do you think the key players will be & keys to the game? I think it’s gonna be a great game. Both great perennial programs. Game time 7pm Thursday 9/7. It’s going to be a full house at Burley, you better get there early.
  7. I can be hasty at times. By the grace of the LORD, his spirit gets my attention. Hope this helps you like it did me. Proverbs 29:20 Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? There is more hope of a fool than of him. Have a blessed week.
  8. DB’s playing with some spunk. They look better than what’s been advertised on CT. I figured it would be a tough game for both. My opinion, GreenE’s got to elevate their intensity on D. Should be a battle the 2nd half. Who wants it the most?
  9. He did have some air under some throws, but I’m not going to take anything away from SG’s secondary either; they made some plays toward the ball. Stepped in front of the receiver, and going up for the catch. My opinion, Crockett’s QB 1, he’s a big boy and runs decent and hard to bring down. He needs to be a fullback blocking and help with running the ball, to complement the other guy that ran; the speedster. QB 2 that came in later in the game, he’s your Qb.
  10. I got off work late and didn’t get up to the castle to Watch Greene & TH. I went to watch this game. Here’s my take. Crockett is big and has plenty of athletes. SG smaller, but have some great athletes as well. Both teams came out looking strong, but the grit and physicality of SG took over and they kept the pedal on the floor. SG’s D had 4 Int’s, and a fumble recovery. SG’s running game was good. Their QB has solid arm with accuracy. Crockett has the tools, but SG brought the attitude and physicality. This was a great win for 2a SG.
  11. Tough game to predict. I think both teams are going to be solid. Should be a good game for those that will be in attendance. Cyclones 28 Toppers 27
  12. Brain & Logic says 5a all the way, but if SG can get on the board quickly and keep the pedal on the floor and also get enough stops on D to keep it close, then I like their chances. It would be an exciting upset special for the SG community. Should be a large crowd on the hill, I think SG may be going to have something in honor/memory of the Wilhoit kid that passed in July.??
  13. They should have an extra set of bleachers in front of the field house now.
  14. The Vikings do have a good youth feeder program through B&G club. The castle is cool place play.
  15. I don’t think it will be a high scoring game at all. CD’s defense, well it wasn’t there, neither was Unaka’s offense. Your Bulldogs looked good with those 2 speedsters running the ball, QB not bad either. Not sure if anyone in the region 1 2a will be able to compete with the Dogs?
  16. Watched these 2 at the Jamboree. If your Unaka fan or West Greene fan on here, then spill the beans. Rangers - I thought the defense held their own against the WG Buffalo's. They need to figure something out on the offensive side. If they can generate some offense, I think they can win. I'm not an X or O guy, but Unaka has some athletes to compete with CD. Black Knights - They have 3 good skills guys that can run based on what I seen. Of course, it was only 1qtr, which doesn't tell a whole story. CD's offense moved the ball down the field a couple of times against the Bulldogs, but their defense didn't get on the bus. Have a great week.
  17. SG started subbing in the JV right after their 2nd TD which I believe was around the 6 to 7 min mark of the qtr. NG has the athletes to be competitive in their region this year, I think they just need to get a couple of back-to-back wins to increase their confidence more. I think they pull off the upset at WG. I honestly didn't think Unaka was bad at all. I thought Unaka's defense was their strong point. If Unaka can't get some offense going, I think they could beat Chuckey Doak. I'll make a thread about theUnaka and CD game here shortly and comment on those team a little more.
  18. Is there any North Greene or West Greene fans on here? Not sure if this topic will get any traction, but we'll see. Normally, I would pick WG in this game. However, I am leaning NG in this. I like what I've seen from Coach Tilson, and the Huskies seem to have more confidence than they had in a long time. A win would go a long way in helping to build even more confidence. Have a good week!
  19. I'd say they're more confident as well, but still young, Sop/Jun heavy. They do have decent speed for 2a and some really good skill guys. I think you hit the nail on the head with the line of scrimmage. One thing I noticed in the Jamboree was their physicality: I thought it was really good. They should be much improved vs last year. It's early in the week and I should be leaning Crockett, but I can't seem to fully commit yet.
