  1. Wood for FC I'm not sure for Gallatin, they threw two kids...
  2. just watched FC and Gallatin game.... Gallatin is not very good this year. Lsot and losts of work to do ....they play MJ Tuesday.
  3. Updae from what I have seen.... Mount Juliet Station Camp Beech Wilson Central Gallatin Hendersonville Lebanon Portland
  4. Beech was not real impressed, but they were not bad by any means.... need to see more Clarksville light on pitching, top two ok, then falls off dramatically..... defense weak, BH still as vocal as ever. Creekwood plays hard, pitching average........ hit fairly well MJ pitching, defense solid, not hitting the ball well, White House too small for these teams..... any other reports for the Wilson County Invite?
  5. Just thought I would add then since they are local and they play some 9AAA teams,
  6. From what I have seen so far, could change on a dime, who knows when you are dealing with 16-18 yr olds. 1.) MJ 2.) SC 3.) Beech 4.) WC 5.) FC then Lebanon/Gallatin/Hendersonville/Portland
  7. To my knowledge, FC does not actively recruit players. As I have said before, FC offers a great oppurtunity for players in Wilson Co. to play at a private school, for whatever the reason, maybe they like a small atmosphere, maybe its the athletic program, maybe they like going to school with their friends. But to say that FC spends time and effort recruiting players is crazy. Sure they want the best student/athlete they can get... Like I said I had a son that was recuited to play at a private school south of Nashville, the conversations that I was having I'm sure were on the verge of breaking some sort of rule, and that was one of the reasons I was not interested. All these small county schools that get bent out of shape because FC beats you, have you ever thought of moving to a better school ?
  8. I agree with you on all your points, but I believe you have a catcher that played at MJ his freshman year, transferred to FC . I can think of 5 that live in MJ. I'm not saying that FC doesn't have good coaches, I'm saying that a lot of your players are developed with personal lessons, travel ball coaches, camps etc.... most of the kids over there would be good players anywhere
  9. I never mentioned anything about MJ players.... MJ is a different situation.... large public.... verses small private....what I'm saying is that the majority of players at FC were not developed by the FC coaching staff.... far from it... maybe a few, but when you transfer in your jr year I don't know any coach that can transform a player from average to great in year. Most of these high school players end up playing more innings in the summer than they do in the spring. Do you kow how many of these FC players live in MJ?
  10. Gant is at the top no doubt
  11. My sons went to FC.... I could not get them out of there fast enough. Now many years later, I'm glad I left when I did. I do have respect for their baseball program, and there players, parents of players etc.... There are a great deal of advantages for students to attend FC. For my sons it was not a good fit, for some students it's perfect. My daughter graduated from FC and she loved it. Most of time, players are leaving their high school where they are zoned to attend FC for a better opportunity, I don't think FC actively recruits, i have a son that was actively recruited by a private school, and they made no bones about it. But for FC they are just the best option for Wilson County players not wanting to play for their public high school. FC gets a lot of MJ players and Lebanon that have been playing baseball for years, it's not like the FC coaching staff has been building these players for years, they come in that way. Their facilites are average at best.
  12. MJ was supposed to play FC ( middle school ) last week, but FC had too many kids out. I think we play them later in the year. MJ middle is at the top of the middle schools in the area. Doyle if you have time............. April 9th through the 15th with the 14th and 15th being the elimination rounds, I have a middle school state tourney at MJ. The field consist of 5 counties represented, Rossview, MJ, Brentwood Academy, West Wilson, Hendersonville, Kenwood, New Providence , Stewarts Creek, Siegel, Nashvile Monarchs, Dickson, Walter J. Baird. If you want to see some good middle school players......
  13. Does Mississippi class and district teams the same way Tenn does? Petal enrolls about 1,000 students.......
  14. Does RR coach the Middle School at FC ?
  15. MJ losed to Rossview. 2-1 serveral starters out due to various reasons
  16. MJMS very good team... of course I have FightinIllini jr #3 and #4 @ MJMS I agree Southside has a good MS program, a friend of mine was coaching there for a while, don't kow if he is there this year or not.
  17. WC sings this song every year.... I have watched their team since they split off from MJ..... fact is they have some talent this year ...but not enough talent.... it starts in middle school.... Doyle....give me a first name....
  18. Smyrna @ Mj tonight.....Mj won 9 -2 no cowbells were present
  19. I agree it should not be used as an excuse, you are taking a player approach, I am taking a parent/fan appoach.
  20. The thing that MJ has is that while some teams may have to ride a struggling/tired pitcher another inning or so, MJ can relieve earlier, if needed and not lose much if anything. While some teams are developing fresh and soph to help with the starters MJ has a lot of pitching depth with sr's and jr's. Also as the season grinds along, the top sr's will be able to stay fresh ..... given the pitching depth and the defense if they can hit ..they will be tough to beat...
  21. How well do you know MJ ?
  22. Cow bells used to distract an opposing player by fans is classless plain and simple. The intent of the fans should be to root for their team to win, and to show good sportsmanship. The outcome of the game should be decided by what happens between the lines, not by fans creating a distraction and inserting themselves into the game. We are not shooting free-throws where the offensive team decides their own fate. In baseball the defense has the ball, and I might add throwing it 80+ miles per hour. I personally feel that cowbells and all false noise makers should be banned by TSSAA. What if for example, the opposing team's batter has a hearing issue, maybe hyper sensitivity, the cow bells enhance that and the player instinctively grabs his ears and gets hit with the ball? What if it creates such a distraction that the batter cannot concentrate and loses maybe just for a split second his ability to dodge a baseball? Is trying to win a game worth all of that? Not to mention that any fan should have more respect for the game. Commanderman, I can understand why you defend the actions of a few FC fans, I can agree with you about what coach Hunt is teaching you about making no excuses, but frankly you are not playing HS baseball any longer so you arguement does not apply. Any fan that uses false noise to distract a 15-18 year old high school player needs their head examined. These players have dedicated a large part of their life to play high school baseball, the game is hard enough and the expectations to perform well are demanded by parents and coaches. We as parents shoudl lead by example, I cannot imagine riding home after a game with my sons and saying " wow the cow bells really helped you on the mound today"
