  1. I believe Hillsboro lost more than PC. If I recall they lost 2 D1 players, 1 to Cincinnati & 1 to Ole Miss, as well as another player who signed with OVC Eastern Kentucky. It will be an adjustment period with a new coaching staff that's the only reason I have them behind PC and CR
  2. Totally forgot about them. Slot them in before HL
  3. I'll bite on this 1.. 1.) Pearl Cohn-State Finals or bust for a team that returns a ton of talent 2.) Cane Ridge- Coach Woods has this program on a huge upswing that may not decline any time soon. Next Metro power? 3.) Hillsboro- will new coach equal more success? A lot returning but questions offensively. Could contend for 5A title 4.) Overton- Consistently a top metro program. Nothing changes this year. 5.) Stratford- New Coach but talent remains. Expectations will be high because of success last 2 years 6.) Maplewood- Brooke and Staff always get the best out of their teams. Could rise to top 3. 7.) McGavock- Tough year last year but return a lot of young guys. Tough district in 6A may limit success 8.) East Nashville- Always have a ton of talent but never seem to be able to get over the hump. Biggest wild card in Metro 9.) Antioch 10.) Hunters Lane 11.) Hillwood 12.) Glencliff 12.) Whites Creek Tie
  4. Not unless they want to sit out a year. TSSAA new rule with the Athletic Coaching link doesn't allow this scenario to play out.
  5. What in the world is Lancaster Christian? This is an underwhelming hire for NE.. surely someone a little more qualified was interested
  6. I thought the Otey kid transferred to FRA last year? Will he be eligible?
  7. I wanted to ask the same thing.. What is his background besides Middle School? Quite a step up..
  8. Kind of disrespectful to the other guys who applied... This one was never in doubt.. Interested to see what happens this fall.. That schedule is a monster
  9. MF has been Hillsboro's coach since December, will be made official next week
  10. That's exactly it. I do not think many coaches go out and blatantly recruit. I think a lot of the issue are parents "shopping" their kids around to the best programs, where the lottery system can get them in. Honestly, If a really good player transferred or wanted to come to your school as a coach would you turn him away? I highly doubt that. I believe as long as things are done correctly and above board, then transfers are going to happen. They have been happening for years in metro, not going to change imo anytime soon
  11. Exactly right... These "training group" are steering a lot of kids to certain metro schools.. I don't think HS coaches should be allowed to be associated with training groups. Either be a trainer or be a coach, not both
  12. I'd have to Put Henry Co in over Page.. I think Hillsboro may be too high with an entirely new coaching staff but they will be talented. Ridgeway is back in 5A too I believe so they should be in the top 10.. Shelbyville & Gallatin could sneak in there as well
  13. MF would be a solid, safe hire for the principal regardless if he was the first choice or last choice.. He will keep the program competitive and kids would keep coming into the school.. I ageee though that I do not believe he was intially a favorite when the position opened. I believe that he was recommended/pushed by higher ups in the MNPS offices. He will do well though I'm sure. Hillsboro doesn't have any Terrell Carters on that team either from what I hear.
  14. Anyone on the current Stratford staff have the resume to be the next HC? I think their DC is pretty well thought of over there, not for sure though if he would wanna follow MF..
  15. Tea leaves are definitely pointing in this direction. Barring an upset MF will be the next Hillsboro Head Coach.
  16. I can see what you are saying here as well. May be a wild card getting the job?
  17. I'm sure that the current principal is running the show how he sees fit. He will hire the guy that he wants without any influence. On another subject, The principals not having the proper certification is a joke though. Makes Metro look even worse
  18. I'm sure Smith is being helped by the principal as far as teaching jobs go.. If the principal will support you and get coaches in the building, then finding assistants will be a little easier.
  19. Seems to be a lot of smoke from what I'm being told that Jay Gore will be the next Hillsboro HC... Brent Dorris would then get the promotion as McGavock HC..
  20. I have a buddy who teaches there who relays info. then I come in here and just put 2+2 together with info from other posters
  21. Currently resides as the head man at the Wood of the Hill?
  22. I think Gerry may be referring to Mose Phillips DC at CR.. Also former Hillsboro QB Coach & current Tampa Sickles HC Patrick Murphy could be a surprise choice. 1st year Hillsboro Assistant & Former Vandy & Ezell Harding Star Erik Davis could be in the discussion as Well. Maybe Anthony Law Maybe Steve Williams Current Knox Central HC & Former Hillsboro AC Bryson Rosser could be the choice too
