Good thing is, we'll have plenty of chatter when other opponents come up on the schedule. I know all I need to know about Lipscomb anyway. Honestly, not surprised one bit none of them want to talk football. Oh well, will be their loss when we beat them Friday.

I agree completely. I played for the patriots when we were in the same district, and for the most part I saw nothing but respect from Coach McCadams and really that whole staff. Hope they can rally together for a great season, just don't want them to win this one of course, Ha!

Don't know if we have any members on here for Lipscomb, but if we do then let's get this one started. The big storyline of the night, will be the honoring of former Lipscomb Academy head coach Glen McCadams who passed away this spring. Should be a great football game, and it will be nice to relive what was once a yearly district game. Also included a non district home and home during the 09-10 seasons. Lets get the discussion started.

I follow a guy on twitter that does commentary stuff at the game for y'all. Kept up with his tweets during the scrimmage last night. Sounds like y'all's new QB (I apologize for not remembering his name off the top of my head) had a real good day. What's y'all expectation for him in comparison to Al Cobb?

We scrimmaged the new high school in Murfreesboro, Stewarts Creek on Friday, and that was our first one. Had some moments where we showed some very encouraging things, especially offensively. At the same time their were several instances where we showed we had a lot of work to do. The number of starters being replaced on defense is showing at times just due to the lack of experience but all the things we struggled at can be fixed cause they were our own issues. Turnovers, missed tackles, those types of things. Offensively we should be fine just because of the return of our QB and a good solid O Line. One thing that's helping big time is Jackie Bennett being back on the staff again. The defense is miles ahead of where they would be if he wasn't the one coaching them. I know you guys had a scrimmage last week but I can't remember who it was against. How are y'all looking under the new staff at Giles?

Alright fellas, I ain't been by in awhile but I figured it was time to get this one started cause I know you guys are all still around. What's everyone's thoughts on this district this season? Anybody got any comments about their own team and how summer practice is going? All I know is, it's almost time for week 0 and I'm excited for some patriot football.

Also congrats on the hire. From what I know about him, he's a good football coach and will do a fine job.

I really didn't think it was true for obvious reasons. Just wondered since I figured the Giles fans on here would know for sure. Would be a pretty bad hire IMO.

So when do you think an announcement will be made? I don't have know any clues on who since you probably don't want to give me any anyway? Just wonder when?

Anybody trying to downplay the job that OC did at Giles doesn't know high school football. The man did a fine job there and even as the fan of a district rival I hated to hear of him leaving. No matter what types of feelings I had towards them as a player at Page, I only have respect for them now and would rather play a full strength Giles team any day of the week. If you'll provide me with an aswer to a question in regards to a candidate for the open head coaching position that would be appreciated. In return ill provide a little surprise in regards to the future of Page football. WOMG will probably remember this name and others may as well. Jackie Bennett has returned to the Patriot sidelines once again. This is obviously a very exciting addition to the Patriot staff for those that are familiar with his background and success. I was reluctant to let the Giles County faithful find out for as long as possible but my hope is you'll answer a question for me. Word on the street is Byron DeVinner is getting serious consideration for the head coaching job at Giles. Just wondered if there's any truth to it?

Hate to hear it now that it is official. Even if Giles is a rival of ours, I hate that he left you guys hanging. Best of luck with hiring a good replacement. I wouldn't have our annual game any other way then both teams at full strength.

Well the schedule thing makes sense. Luckily for us we were able to schedule down for the most part, which helps considering what were losing from last year, especially on defense. I do like te schedule we ended up with, it will be kinda enjoyable to play this many non district games I think. Of course what's not good for us is how tough the district will be. You guys have a very good team coming back and I'm sure Cobb has the next QB ready to come in and pick up where he left off, not to mention the great coaching staff you have there right now. Of course CPA will also have a pretty good team, Marshall has a pretty good group coming back, and if Spring Hill makes the right hire then they will be back at it again so this district will continue to be a tough one IMO. Lucky for us we've got our QB coming back and some solid players stepping up on offense so hopefully we can make up for the defense losing so many guys cause you're gonna pick up where you left off from last year.

Good for Cobb. Great player and even better kid from what I've been told. Glad he's found a place to go play at.

I'm going with Tom Turchetta myself. If its him then that's a huge get for Spring Hill. Great coch and exactly what they need at Spring Hill. They've got the talent, just need somebody to go in there and motivate and push the boys to compete.

Haven't been on since the season ended, but had to get back on here to gets y'all take on the O Connor deal. I know WOMG said all is good, but what's the deal? Seems odd when he has a good thing going, not to mention scheduling such a tough schedule. Any thoughts on why he makes this move?

Yes, of course it wasn't a real offer. It was kinda like when Lane Kiffin was supposedly recruiting a 12 year old quarterback or whatever that story was. There was also the time when Eric Berry was at UT, and they always joked that wanted to sign both of his twin brothers when they were still in middle school (of course there juniors now and are highly recruited athletes so hopefully they do in fact end up at Tennessee because we need em).

Congrats to both guys. If I didn't live in Middle Tennessee area I would have definitely taken the opportunity to see both of these guys play in person. I had a feeling it might be Al Cobb who got the backs award but High was very deserving of it as well.

I also hope UT's new coach will offer him. We need a guy with that type of ability. He would have helped us out a lot this year and definitely next year.

It was awesome and I would love a rematch and it would be awesome to have more games like it.

Glad to hear that about Moore and Franklin. Both are great players and were a pleasure to watch play the last few years. I for some reason forogt about phillips even after seeing him play against page. Cobb seems to be good enough to play at that level just needs to put on more weight. That is the only thing that I look at and say would keep him from playing at that level.

I'm watching Bo Wallace play tonight and it got me thinking. Any of you guys think Al Cobb could play at that level of college football and is there any other players we should watch out for to be playing at the level as well?
