Their opinions are based on past games with Beech when the Jackets actually didn’t play to win, whether it be due to injuries or the fear of getting players injured prior to the home stretch of region play at the end of the season. I, for one, hope we show up looking to make a statement and do play to win. I think our young men grew up in the second half of the Henry County game and that group will give Beech all they want.
To me it appeared obvious about 5 yrs ago when most of our starters didn’t play......losing 49-0. I believe we’d still lost with our 1st team bc the Bucs were great but it wasn’t going to be by 49

Rivals has Tennessee and Arkansas as a tie for getting him with a verbal commitment to Arkansas in April
I haven’t heard if TN is even trying to recruit him. Haven’t heard of any visits either.

I will say the Crenshaw we saw in the second half wasn’t the same one we saw in the first half. I think the pick six lit a fire under him for the second half. He may well have been the best player on the field in the second half. The Henry County QB thoroughly outplayed him in the first half though
That first long pass they threw on their first drive......I believe i could have caught that bc the FS let him go right by him. He didn’t stay in much after that. Our passing was off first half. A little self inflicted

Everyone says Springfield and Henry County will see each other again but let's not get ahead of ourselves. There is a giant lurking in Region 8 that Springfield will have to beat to get a rematch with Henry County.
We’re well aware

That pick 6 was the difference in the game imo. Definitely not what we were use to seeing in the first half. The play calling and execution was alot better 2nd half. Im proud the boys fought and gave themselves a chance to win. Looking forward to Nov.

Hope the boys get well. Good ball players

HC wins by a couple of scores. I’ve seen both teams and HC is a more complete team because what separates them is the ability to score. Springfield has a really good defense like really good but that offense is stalemate and predictable. Also Springfields showing against rossview showed a lot but in a bad way. I definitely wish I could say Springfield is going to win this game but I don’t even see it being close.
Even if the Jackets scoring avg is 38 per game?

I think the 2018 team was better than 17 or 19. They just ran into a buzzsaw when they ran up against a revenge driven Haywood team in the semis. This year’s team is the best since 18, probably a little deeper IMO.
That Haywood game was cold and wet I remember. Game was played at Jackson Christian due to Haywood field a mess.

I didn’t say that 49-0. I simply said you’ll be thinking a lot about 2017. Fortunately you didn’t schedule us for homecoming again, that was not smart.
For the record, in 2017 both teams made it to the championship game. Possibly the best team you’ve had at Springfield in recent years and it was still that bad. I mean dang!
Beech was very good that year. I remember being frustrated bc we had alot of backups starting that game including the QB. I don’t remember how many injuries we had but I remember thinking many players were possibly being rested for the rest of the season to make a playoff run. If I had known that I would have just stayed home lol Beech was still going to win against every healthy starter but it wasn’t going to be 49-0 imo

Interesting picks. I think that our D can kept it close. Say in the low 20’s like the 3rd round game last year. The big question mark for me is can our Offense score on there D. We only scored 6 points total on them in two games last year. @eers has us only scoring 7 points total in the next two games and giving up 76; 27 to HC and 49 to Beech
I agree. Can the offense score against them?! HC will make plays but Jackets have to match them. And I still got Nov on my mind instead of what Jackets are doing this year. We’ll see.

A whole lot of mistakes made by the Jackets back in November...
And Henry made them pay for every single one.
You’re exactly right. I went back and watched some it and alot of self inflictions.

Alright fellas....coming into the season I didn’t feel confident about winning the region this time. I know the Jackets scoring offense improved but my confidence hasn’t improved much....mainly bc of my flashbacks to Nov. With all that nonsense said I pick the Jackets at home 21-20.

Just like any team who is talented but at a slight disadvantage looking at the overall picture… they need to hit a few big plays, win on special teams, win the turnover battle and win the T$$AA flag battle. Boy those refs love love love pulling that yellow thing out of their crotch area this season.
Refs....I remember them getting booed last yr in Paris after the game by one of the visiting fans Don’t need that type of reffing anywhere near a Jackets game haha
Springfield High Yellow Jackets (6-1) vs Beech High Buccaneers (5-1)
in Class 5A & Class 6A

Yea If we could change one play in Jackets HC game Jackets would be undefeated.
