No question its gonna be a fun and interesting tournament. Looking forward to our game with Bradley tomorrow. I think Boones girls are going to be a big surprise to some people tomorrow though. Hope there are several great games tomorrow and all week.

I havent seen Bradley Central this year and only know what I read online and just seeing everyones predictions about this tournament. Is Bradley as good as everyone says? Does Boone have any chance in this game at all? Im looking forward to this game and the entire week of games.

They have several really good players. They have 2 good post players. The one that will be at Daniel Boone next year is good but not sure she will be a true post player in high school. From what i have seen though she has the ability to move out and play the 3 as well and be more than capable. The other one will definitely be a post in high school and should be very good as well. She has another year of middle school ball first though. Things look really good for Daniel Boone in the near future.

Gray won the state sectional for the 2nd consecutive year. Pretty impressive.

I think they play their semi-final game friday at 4:30 and champ game is sat at 4:00. You may want to double check the time somewhere but i will try to get solid times. I will prob make it down saturday for the champ game. I didnt see their game last nite but what was the report you got from the game.

Monday qtrfinals update. Gray won by more than 50 and Catons Chapel lost by 2.

I saw all of Grays area games and they walked through that and also had a bye. They play monday also. I believe that will be the state qtrs so everyone left probably plays monday.

Semifinal game. Gray wins 60-36. Area champ game is thurs I believe. Any update on on Catons Chapels yet?

I went to the Gray girls game tonight. It was quarterfinal game of their area tournament. This may not be the exact final score but I believe it was 67-26 with what looked like their starters on the bench for the 4th qtr. They play semis tomorrow night and I will update again if i make it to the game or get a score update after the game.

The area tournament is this week so they will have to get thru that first. I should be able to make it to watch them this week a couple of times so i will keep you up to date with how they do. If you can keep me up to date with Catons Chapel this week also. And im not sure of when the sectional is but i believe it will start this coming saturday and end the weekend of the 9th.

Have not heard anything about them. But i would be shocked if Gray doesnt win the sectional again and thats from just seeing them play 3 or 4 times. I find it hard to believe there are very many A teams that could beat them.

Im pretty sure Grays first 4 or 5 play travel ball but unsure who they play with. Gray is a pretty small school. Its a k-8 and prob only has about 700 kids.

I think they played them once in regular season and WV won by 1 or 2 and then they played again in a christmas tournament and WV again won by 2 or 3 I believe. I saw the christmas tourny game an overall it looked like Gray had the better talent but WV had the most dominant player. Gray is at a huge disadvantage against them from a school size standpoint though.

Im not sure if any school from those counties would be in the A state sectional or not. I doubt it. The only team they have played that you may know of is WestView Middle School from Morristown.

Gray Elementary School. Gray, Tn. They won their state sectional last year with all 6th/7th graders. So now with 7th/8th graders I would imagine they are the faborite to win it again. Are you assiciated with or a fan if any girls middle school team anywhere. I always like to hear of some other teams.

Regardless of candidates he was the best person for the job. I dont mean he was the best available or best possible or best of who applied. I mean he IS the man. DBHS girls bball is about to go through the roof. Lots of talent about to come from middle school and with great coaching, great things can happen.

I would like to see any of the girls high school teams around here win a state champ. Would be a great thing for east tennessee. Would be even better though if it was Boone. Lol. I have gone quite a bit to watch myself but just to see what you think and maybe even tell me a different perspective try to go watch Grays girls play some next year and give me your thoughts. Either way though isnt it great to even be discussing DB girls bball again.

And yes you are correct, much harder to win state championships in high school than in middle school. I was only speaking of how talented some of the middle school girls are in that area.

Actually middle school plays all the way out to a state sectional championship now. Which Grays Middle School girls won with no 8th graders. They will have every player returning next year.

You are correct. It is SHHS for the taking the next 2 years. I said fairly quickly not the next 2 years. Im saying within 5-6 years roughly. I am a fan of what coach Campbell has done there. I just believe the talent Boone has coming up from middle school is very very good.

First off let me say this. Coach Campbell is a very nice and likable guy. Most importantly let me say this, he will not be hard to replace. DB has the oppurtunity to hire a coach who will take them anove and beyond any high school girls team around here and have a very good oppurtunity to win multiple state championships fairly quickly.This is if they make the right decision with their new coach. And i have faith that they will do so.
