  1. so, what's your point? in one response you say they were terrible, in another you say they had one of their best years. without using the obvious comeback of "sucking WAS one of South Pittsburg's best years," exactly what do you mean?
  2. well, you were old last year and weren't any good then either. so, what's your excuse for last year?? yeah, he's obviously a heckofa coach just look at the record: 13-23 young and old. yeah he's great.
  3. are you kidding? shut this thread down. the second half clock should run to get this one over as soon as possible. csas can pick the score.
  4. i TOTALLY agree...you guys should leave the antonio debate for another thread. south pittsburg has some really solid players besides him like starkey (and he is for sure the most underrated player in the region). i'm tellin you this team is gonna be pretty tough.
  5. that's the luckiest 25-point victory i've ever seen!
  6. FINAL: South Pittsburg - 74, St. Andrew's - 38 the pirates looked pretty solid, and should only improve in their upcoming games. they looked a little rusty, but this was their first game...most teams are playing their fifth or sixth games.
  7. hey, that's great. what happened during the other 65 points they scored on you?
  8. that was football....believe me they've got PLENTY of competition in class A basketball....and have never won the title in basketball
  9. the "powerhouse" whitwell tigers took care of the up-and-coming sale creek whatevers.
  10. i'm not totally sure, but i think they usually give them a week off to recuperate, spend time with family, etc. before they go full into basketball. of course, when they have a bad season, it's not really a big deal (like last season), but when the football team does well, it can cost them early in the season (like two years ago and maybe this year). so, i think it's just for rest and refocusing more than anything else. i believe that's why the push the season-opening games back to the first or second week of december usually.
  11. you're close...it was about 9 or 10 players they didn't have. except for one guy, the hawkins kid, i don't think they had a single player that would see a lot of action, if any, this season. they will compete for the district, but i'm not too sure they be able to pull it off.
  12. Nope. i'm not buying fellas. sale creek improved? ok, i'll buy that because they'd have to be. up was the only way they could go. But, 3rd place??? no way. No way they beat Lookout Valley, South Pittsburg, or CSAS. They'll finish 4th.
  13. ok, ok, that's going to be a great rivalry game as always, but if you want to see a great series of tough, hard-fought, exciting games, check out South Pittsburg vs. Lookout Valley (Jan. 10 @ Lookout Valley, Feb. 7 @ SP, and they'll probably meet up in the district in late February too). last years three games: @ SP = SP 58, LV 57 @ LV = tied at the half, back and forth in the third and fourth, then LV pulled away and won by 12 or 13 District 2nd Round = SP up by 12 at half, LV up by 8 with 25 seconds left, SP scores 8 in 25 seconds and wins by a couple of points in overtime i can't wait to see these two mix it up again. i would expect the same kind of all out wars as last year!
  14. that'll be great! let's hear what you think. sale creek taking two from lookout valley?? that's hard to believe. what's so convincing about them? if they can take two from lookout valley, can they beat south pittsburg or csas??
  15. i missed that game! what impressed you. everyone on here seemed impressed with sale creek. let's get some details on sale creek's outlook.

  17. You've seen the jamboree games, so what do you think will happen this year in District 6-A? Also, does anyone in District 6-A have ANY chance to win the region? Here are my current rankings: 1. CSAS 2. South Pittsburg 3. Lookout Valley 4. Sale Creek 5. Richard Hardy 6. Whitwell Predictions: CSAS, South Pittsburg, and Lookout Valley will battle for the top spot, and truthfully, I wouldn't be surprised if any of these three finish first during the regular season. They should be great games. Sale Creek, Richard Hardy, and Whitwell will fight to stay out of last place. None of these three have a chance to beat the top three. Don't give me all that crap about "any given night." None of these three will place above 4th or win against the top three. Region Champs: Temple; no one in 6-A has a chance to win the region once again.
  18. it wasn't LIKE grace vs. a jv team. It WAS grace vs. a jv team. south pittsburg at grace academy in february could be a great game when sp's got all its players. grace's first team was impressive. their bench was scary sorry.
  19. WHHHHHHHAAAAAAAT??????? this can't be the same grace guy from last season! can it? what happened? did you move to south pittsburg? did grace disown you? thanks for the compliment! only 442 more to even up against south pitt WHHHHHHHAAAAAAAT??????? this can't be the same grace guy from last season! can it? what happened? did you move to south pittsburg? did grace disown you? thanks for the compliment! only 442 more to even up against south pitt

  21. Condra and whsTIGERfan: Valentine's day is in February. Let's buy him flowers and candy then.
  22. i think this will be a great district to watch this year and in the tourney. CSAS is probably #1 based on last year, but don't be suprised if south pittsburg and lookout valley could challenge them i think. be sure to watch every LV/SP game you can get to! i watched all three last year and they were awesome. even though south pittsburg took 2 of 3, they all went to the wire, and the last on in the tournament was a classic that took overtime to decide. best game i ever saw. my picks: 1. CSAS - state playoffs in AA last year, 'nough said 2. South Pittsburg - caused problems for a lot of teams last year; won 22 3. Lookout Valley - lost too much outside, they'll have to find some help 4. Sale Creek - got rid of the trash last year, look for a run 5. Richard Hardy - gettin' better, but a new gym will HURT them; know why?? 6. Whitwell - lost everybody from last year, but maybe that's a good thing
  23. What are you talking about? You didn't stop him. You a two other guys held him to 12 points. Then, in the second game, when you had him all by yourself, you got waxed. Give me a break. If giving up 12 and 24 points to a guy is shutting him down then Whitwell is on their way to the state championship.
  24. I think South Pitt is having a meeting Friday to vote on what the players would like the final score to be.
