  1. Well I can't type your name like you spell it. This vol fan can't type anything that starts with uk, ugh, without thinking about them wildcats.
  2. I think he's just messin' with you Mr. Hampton...we can't go 11 deep, we've only got 10 in uniform!
  3. There are 16 teams left in the whole state. I don't think anyone will be taking anyone for granted at this point.
  4. C'mon Pride, gimme a "no doubt"
  5. Whewwwww......Meigs will give Hampton fits!
  6. Good luck to both. Part of me is hoping to see South Greene so I can reminisce about my Greene Devil days of whoopin up on The Rebels! ...easy Pujo, not hoping to dodge you guys, just a little Greene County smak talk.
  7. Keep us updated on scores if you can. See one of ya tomorrow!
  8. JDirt's gonna call u an idiot again
  9. I just don't get this thinking. Not picking on you Pujo, there's been others saying same thing. Nothing to gain? There's a district tourney championship to gain. What these kids had to gain was the excitement (and memory) of playing in it, win or lose. Imagine the seniors, it was their last chance to win a district championship. For 99% of these kids, team sports are over after HS. I remember my big HS games (30 years ago, Dirt). So, these Grace kids will remember getting the #1 seed because of a snow storm in 30 yrs? Sorry but I disagree. The risk of losing it doesn't overcome the reward of possibly winning it and always having that memory.
  10. We sure couldn't figure out how to keep 11 from taking it to the rim.
  11. We've played 3 "full games" already. What exactly are you hoping for?
  12. I agree, I'd like to see 3 sweep 4. I wouldn't let Dirt's comments change that.
  13. Pathetic? Yes, but kinda humorous too
  14. Yeah, I don't think you'll get a lot of lol's on that one. And I don't think you'll get the responses you were hoping for. I'll give this much of a response; your comment reveals a lot more about you and your character (or lack thereof) than it does anyone else's. Way to make yourself look good!
  15. Sorry to bring up again, just got word no games today, district teams will vote on whether to play tomorrow or go to region seeded as district regular season played out. Oh, and Dirt, our coach is voting to play. Like I said earlier, better to have a chance to win it than take the easy way out. Win or lose, that's the way it should be. Maybe some of your other opinions regarding Grace are incorrect as well?
  16. I'm hearing 5:30 but that's coming from a 16yr old boy so probably best to confirm...
  17. First of all, I need to be clear...I'm just having a little fun here. Basketball season is pretty boring on the T and every now and then, I like to stir it up a little. I'm a little curious on the age thing. I think I'm a little older and a lot more immature than you're giving me credit for. Third, I'm a product of a good ol' public education. no private schools in my home town. D) I'm confused, which of your broad statements are you claiming as true? I might need to see the foot notes and outline on your thesis...5) and most important) I have not and will not say anything negative about your kids or anyone else's kids. 6) somebody better give me some props on the 6'3" private school peter pan comment, cause that was pretty dang funny I don't care who you are... footnote 1 were you thinking I dated myself because of the "Championships we've won" comment?
  18. 1. I also said one came in 7th grade and one in 9th. I may be mistaken on the 9th grader, he may have started in 8th. I THINK all the ones I mentioned from 6th grade were actually there in elementary school also, but I wasn't sure so I didn't state it that way. I try not to make too many broad statements without knowing all the facts. it's a nice philosophy, you should try it. 2. I'm sorry your kids are short and can't actually play. Your words, not mine. Well, your insinuating words anyway. 3. Can you do some research and show me all these so called Championships we've won. We have some pretty good teams in a variety of sports, i'll give you that. But to the best of my knowledge we only have one small trophy case and while the shelves aren't bare, there's certainly room for more. There are a few banners hanging in the gym, but it doesn't take too long to read them, because there's only a few. 4. Can you explain to me Grace's enrollment process that emphasizes winning is everything? Please see my last sentence in #1 before doing so. I've been through the application and I don't remember a question, "Do you excel in any sport?" Our school has grown every year. In fact, it's probably close to full capacity. We have a lot of kids that excel in things other than athletics. Come to think of it, I'm going to check and see if there is a CoachT type blog for Theatre, Choir, Music, Academics, etc. and see if anyone is whining about a 6'3" private school Peter Pan that has an unfair theactric advantage over their kid. 5. I know your kids aren't scared of Grace, and they shouldn't be. I just hope they don't read all the posts from their "fans" that talk them not being able to compete. 6. Which of us seems to have a hit nerve and a wad of panties? I've read back through both our posts, and I think you're the winner there. I win for bigger smart-alek. But you got me beat on the nerve-panties.
  19. you've said a lot of ridiculous comments on here, and I've been trying to decide which one of your rants to refute...then I got to this one, and I realized I didn't need to respond to any of the others. based on this post, it's clear that you do not nor ever did participate in any type of competitive or athletic endeavor. I PROMISE you our team wants the chance to win a district championship and not just "placed as the #1 seed without really having to do anything". I guess 11-1 district record means nothing? Let's say we do get the district tournament in and Grace doesn't win it. I still say that every single Grace player/coach/fan would still be glad for the opportunity to have competed for the championship rather than not getting the chance at all. Winning isn't everything. There are important lessons to be learned by giving your absolute best effort and coming up short. There are worse things than losing when giving it your best. Like having a "woe is me attitude and we can't beat you because your kids haven't played together since 6th grade" Which, by the way, that doesn't fly either. With maybe one or two exceptions, these kids have been together since 6th grade. One came in 7th and one in 9th. Our athletes are really not that much better than most of the teams we play. Our "advantage" that you like to always talk about, is we don't have to overcome a chip on our shoulder that you and some others can't seem to shake. I really hope your team doesn't share your very poor competitive attitude.
  20. are we talking about football or basketball? not that it matters that much, I can't really see either one making that statement.
  21. I think you've been mis-informed here. if this were true, it was very quiet, I never heard/saw any of this. Definitely nothing like this happened last night, we just got took out to the ole woodshed. It would have taken our best to beat Meigs last night and we were not at our best. no exaggeration-at least 40 of their points were layups. Our defense has been really good all year, but last night our D was an F.
  22. They sure showed it last night! Along with Hampton, one of the best atmospheres I've seen at a HS basketball game. To all those that like to argue that the privates have all the advantages, we sure don't have a home court advantage atmosphere like I saw last night. It takes a community to come out and support a team like that. Other than being on the losing end, it was pretty awesome. I'd say everybody who lives in Decatur was in the gym last night. Hopefully we'll get 2 more shots at Meigs in the next few weeks, AND NOT IN THAT GYM!!!
  23. If you guys are Meigs guys, I don't think you'll have any problem with Harriman. They have a few good players but don't play much D and have no bench. I still can't understand how you guys lost to tellico twice though?
  24. i agree, Tellico isn't all that great. That's why I had them 3rd...
