  1. I'm not familiar with Region 3-AAA, I am from Middle/West TN. Who is the favorite to win the Region Championship? How does EH and WV compare to Oakland and Blackman (sub-state match ups) in your opinion?
  2. My apologies, I should have clarified. I meant that Northwest and Lebanon move on easily in the First Round.
  3. I believe Region 3 changed theirs to where the Boys is at one location and Girls is at another location.. Never heard of that until this year
  4. I agree with Lebanon being only team to win Saturday. It's hard to think that Coach Allen won't have a great game plan for Springfield, so I could never count them out. I believe Northwest and Lebanon will both move on pretty handily.
  5. I agree with this. Also why I think MJ and Lebanon are better teams than SC due to each of them have 3 or 4 guys to score rather than just Freeman and Zazzaro and the occasional Gillion (spell check) lay up.
  6. Donovan Sims from Blackman would absolutely have to be on that list. Garland definitely number 1. Sims could play higher level than MTSU. Haven't seen Hodges play since he left SC but I've seen his accolades and stats, still wouldn't put him over Sims.
  7. That is an interesting statistic. Personally, would rather have Murphy. Kid plays harder than any player I've seen in quite some time.. Indy has nothing other than him though. Summit and Brentwood are better teams, but Murphy has had a Triple-Double or two in the Tourney. He will be a great player at Belmont. It will be interesting to see how everything plays out, I love this time of year!
  8. We all know this time of year is substantially different than Christmas tournament ball. No one out of this district would win past Region, no offense. Not even close. They had also lost to Beech in that tournament after beating them by 10-15 in Lebanon's Thanksgiving tournament. Indy has won 8 in a row and won the district tourney after being the 4th in regular season (1-3 seeds being better teams). Wil Co: Independence, Brentwood. and Summit And Metro has 2 really good teams in Antioch and Cane Ridge **Independence being the least talented & athletic but they have the Murphy kid who is relentless. A tougher, more athletic version of Freeman. Don't see any 9-AAA beating any of those teams, sorry.
  9. If any 9-AAA team makes it through Region i'll be very surprised. I haven't even had a chance to see the Clarksville district, but just in comparison to years past, it's very weak this year and any team would get beat by 20+ in Sub-State by the Wil Co./ Metro Region.
  10. I've heard that Freeman is a great soccer player and would have a chance to play soccer "big time"
  11. If SC wins District Championship, Freeman wins MVP again right? I know the Regular season wasn't what was expected from the Bison, but a Championship silences that would you agree?
  12. Does the Turner kid play a lot in tougher district games? I know typically everyone gets to play against Portland so I'm not sure how big of a loss that is
  13. Man, think about those teams in the District. Beech had Lee, Cummings, Chamberlain bros. Hendersonville had Sheehan, Davis, Long. WC had Oldham, St. Louis, Brandon. SC had Brown, and the other good guard. Lebanon had Hunn, Christian, Higj. Gallatin had Woodard, the good Guard/Forward cant remember his name. THOSE WERE BATTLES EVERY NIGHT Most of ALL of these names would be District MVP in the district now
  14. They would play in semi-final against each other
  15. Any predictions here? I'm going to guess MJ vs WC/Lebanon in District championship. MJ should have a clear cut and so should Lebanon, but Lebanon has lost to WC twice this year. WC has also lost to Beech twice though. Opposite side of MJ should be very interesting. Good luck to all!
  16. I have happened to see some of the game footage on Twitter and Large sports/basketball accounts have mocked at his 92 points. This is also the same way his brother, a senior on the team had 71 earlier in the season. Terrible basketball. But also, I would have to pose a question to the opposing coach.. If you see a team only had 4 defenders, how do you not get a good look offensively to score or to send a player back on D when the shot goes up.?
  17. I hope everyone is having a wonderful New Year so far. I haven't posted in this thread since my beginning of the year "prediction". I have only had the opportunity to watch everyone except for Hendersonville this year and to me this district is very, very weak compared to years past. MJ and Lebanon look to be the most complete teams in 9-AAA and of course Coach Allen does a tremendous job year in and year out with his teams. Gallatin has gotten away with good athleticism and the post kid isn't bad. Not sure why coaches haven't tried to go zone against them and force the guards to knock down shots. SC has likely bottom half coach in the league in my opinion. Even without the Eden kid, SC should be in the top 3 of the district. Not bashing him, just my observation since SC has joined 9-AAA. Not much to say for Beech as I have only watched them play once this year and got beat pretty good in a Christmas tourney. WC has over-performed in my opinion with the players/team they have. Players are all very limited and only Johnson would start on a team in the Top half of the district. Coach Carney has done a great job in my opinion. I haven't seen Hendersonville and Portland is Portland.. What do you guys think?
  18. What teams do you believe will be playing in Murfreesboro this year? ALL classifications included
  19. 1. MJ 2. SC 3. WC 4. Lebanon 5. Hendersonville 6. Gallatin 7. Beech 8. Portland
  20. Like I said, best of luck. Coach Allen is the best coach in 9-AAA, hope to see them get the monkey off their back.
  21. I agree with this 100%. Before Wilson County went "open zone" kids would apply for out of zone form to attend WC or MJ. With the open zone it has only made things worse. And the addition of Friendship going the Private school league, they can now (legally) give athletic/academic scholarships which also takes from Lebanon.
  22. Also, WC has been open 10-15 years making 4 state tournament trips while MJ has been open substantially longer without an appearance to the "Glass House." In regards to former WC coach, Coach Bond, I wouldn't consider hanging north of 5-6 banners then "jumping ship" to a sub .500 team @ Oakland would be considered a better opportunity. 9-AAA is the worst it has been in the last 10 years and likely won't have a contender in the Murphy Center for the next few years; could be why several coaches have "jumped ship" to pursue "better opportunities" else where.
  23. You are likely a member of the Mount Juliet basketball team. I would advise you not to post and focus on your season. Best of Luck
