Yes Hackett guarded Sissom and yes she had 25. Sissom is a terrific scorer and will always have her points but over winter break Sissom had two games with like 40 or more points. So Callie may not have held her scoreless but she made her earn every point and work and use alot of energy to score the ball.

Hey Loudfan I think you are right in your opinion the game would have been different if Sissom had guarded Hackett. I'm just going to say that coach Dodgen(who is a great coach) obviously didn't think Sissom could handle Hackett. Callie Hackett should be the 8AA MVP. She does all aspects of the game 100% of the time and it pays off she is the best contender for the title.

The matchup does not just include points. Hackett if I remember correctly, guarded Sissom while Sissom guarded a freshman that hasn't played much this season. The MVP isn't just a player who scores at will but a player that also plays tough defense the entire game. So Callie is te only one who fits the description.

Miss Callie Hackett on the Lady Owls also never comes out of the game. I agree she deserves and has earned the right to be crowned the 8AA MVP. The only thing she needs to learn is shoot a jump shot, but she is by far the most qualified for the title.

I think we will see how good the DC defense is and we shall see how explosive their offense can be. Do they rely to much on the deep ball or can they move the ball with short yardage here and there.

Dekalb is very "confident" this season but they have the right to be because they are 4-0. But it's easy to think you are "hot stuff" when you play weak teams. Smith Co. all the way in a close game. (a high scoring)

Week is half over and the game is quickly drawing nearer. Who will win the game no one knows both teams want their team to win. Why don't we take a look at reality for the players' sake. Dekalb returned 97% of their team plus an athletic reciever. While the Owls on the other hand graduated 19 seniors and of those seniors were many of the starters from last season. The big thing the Owls have going for them is their head coach, Jimmy Maynord, for this reason and this reason alone the Owls will come out victorious. GO BIG OWLS!!!!!!!!!

I don't think anyone is saying that DC isn't a good team. I do think the fact that they haven't played and good quality teams and have yet to play all 4 quarters. SC will have to fix some coverage issues but the DC defense better be able to stop our powerful running game and then stop the pass. The passing offense for the Owls has gotten better and I think you will see it a lot this week against DC. Go Big Owls!!!!!!

It's game day in SC baby. The Owls looked really good in practice this week. I have heard LA has been looking swell in practice the last two weeks. I think one question is does the fact that LA didn't play last week going to effect the Cats tonight? While the Owls have played two games (one of them being a nail-biter) and LA has only played one game that wasn't even a challege. In my professional opinion, the games SC has played (or last weeks) will give them the composure to win and handle all situations that might be thrown their way.Owls by 14 GO Big Owls!!!!!

It's time for the predictions. I pridict as I have all week the Owls by 14. SC should have their way on the offensive side of the ball they will run and throw at will. SC should and may have their breakout game this week vs. LA. As Coach Lamb says the team goes as the QB goes. On the defensive side the will have to contain the two backs, hit them hard and I have heard they fold. Go Big Owls!!!!!!

The Linder kid is big and has okay speed, but he has some fundamental issues. I know for a fact that #64 Carter will be on him all night and we will see who the all-stater is. I believe Carter will have his way with Linder. Not just Cater but the whole line including his twin Taylor will all have their way with that LA power house D-line. the Owls D-line has a great chance to create havac for the LA O-line. The biggest issue for the SC D will be containing the two in the backfeild on the blue and white side. SC has the ability to be very diverse on the offensive side of the ball. SC by 2 touchdowns. SC not only has a running threat with Manning but I think we tend to forget the other back that opens up the run for Manning. Stevenson is a good perimeter runner he really makes the defense respect the sweep. To top that is the throwing ability of Givens. SC has players on the perimeter that can catch and make plays that come through the air. SC by 14. Go Big Owls!!!!!

SC may not have a gold ball to show for all of their accomplishments but year after year the produce one of the top teams in 3A football. If I am correct no one on this LA team had anything to do with the '05 team. They also had a coaching change. I look to see SC take this game 28-7. Go Owls.

SC is a very talented team they have experience in some places and not in others. While LA on the other hand has veterans all across the field. Livingston is supposed to have one of their best teams since '05. LA has 2 good runners in McCoin and Hayes, but not real sure about the passing game. Can't wait for the match up. Go Big Owls
