Have to take away the past three years now and, that is not having to take away a gifted Covid season with multiple Covid forfeits including the playoffs!
Since Loretto won the region, essentially taking Hohenwald's spot, if they win region and beat Hohenwald next year, will they be moved into another region similar or such as Riverside and Chapel Hill? What's the over and under?
Have to admit, one loss season and first round blowout looks bad. Ranked all season but yet, just as every year prior, had about 20 AA teams that were actually better than them.
Guess how it will be next season, there @Trollin?
Same ole' Hohenwald; year after year.
Will Loretto be moved out of R5? If so, who will replace them?
@hohenwaldfans @BIGPURPLEMACHINEthree championship games in a row, now.
'23 now @BIGPURPLEMACHINE
Since you are still stuck in the 90's, I would have figured you would be asking about androids or pre-smart phones.
Weak but, we'll go there. You will need to add in that Hohenwald still does not have a championship game appearance and, will have to add in the number (3) to replace the number (2).
Just admit that you got put (slammed) in your place and whimpered away. Ironic though because you are the one who decided to interject yourself into the Hohenwald thing.
He's still lamenting on the late 90's run from over two and a half decades ago.
Dang, you just described Hohenwald!
Another DANG, you just described Hohenwald's tradition.
But yet you get called out for doing what you just described; even mentioning a kids name!
This post is awesome and goes to the one below. Seems that Giles played three or four teams in higher classification this year and, maybe last. We were one of them and, were lucky to escape that game with a win. If not for Alcoa, Giles would have another state championship or two. Other than Fayetteville a couple of years ago, Hohenwald NEVER schedules up but if they do, it's someone like zero for fifty Spring Hill or girls basketball school Obion County. On top of that, @BIGPURPLEMACHINE's team literally bounces around classification in hopes they can avoid playing competition.
If other football programs would pay attention to this and what Giles is doing as far as their schedules, they would be able to make deep playoff runs; maybe in 2A.
Still think Giles should move up to 4A and make another run. Look at their W/L records and scores when facing larger teams/schools, like us.
All better?

Roll Call...
l. The state office has been charged by the state legislature to ask TSSAA member schools about their desire to modify the existing transfer rules of the association.
The state office asked the membership to vote for one of three options:1) Keep the current transfer rules.
2) Provide students the opportunity to transfer one time after establishing a high school athletic record.
3) Provide students the opportunity to transfer one time after establishing a high school athletic record provided the transfer takes place before they begin their 10th grade year. -
I'm creating this topic to cover this that and the other. I'll try to add something of interest from time to time.

100 years in 12 minutes is a good description. It was like #8 was running for a century of great tailbacks.
Poetic from the Professor.
I like it.

I've got the gas tank filled up and ready to hit the recruiting trail
The current freshman and sophomore class may be one of the most talented groups I've seen in a long time. I know we will have a lot of youth but with a good off season I honestly think we could make another deep run.

A lot of young ones need to develop. Plenty of young talent. Curious to see how this group does. 56,57,73, and 78 should anchor the line part.
Add #64 in there as well?

I thought I would go ahead and get us started.
Championship weekend is over.
The road to Chattanooga starts anew.
What say you?
I say Go Pirates!!

can u imagine. a 9 month off season. a grueling reg season. then 5 games in the playoffs, all to have it end in a horrible 14-7 snoozefest. talk about premature finish. it was unwatchable
I can imagine a lot worse.
For starters, a football program with only 14 playoff wins in their existence.
No semifinal appearances. Countless 1st round playoff loses.
Yeah, I can imagine a lot worse.
Thanks for watching and wanting to be us.

I’m a South Pittsburg fan but just wanted you people in Riverside to know you not only have a great coach but more importantly a wonderful man and human being. I watched y’all’s game on tv and afterwards he gave a very classy speech about being so thankful and was so humble doing it. You guys deserved this championship and hope you really enjoy it and hopefully will be back soon for another because they get sweeter each time.

in all seriousness does anyone think this was a good game? these two teams played some great football, but the finale was underwhelming. .neither team looked good at all.
Some win looking good.
Some win looking ugly.
Some never do win.
I'll take the win.

I understand. I'm the same.
They did have some cats on their team. A scat cat or two.
Could be something in the making there.
A strong 2nd place team in our region is nice to have come playoff time. With them being seeded #2 & falling into the bottom of the bracket, if they could win that part. we would ALWAYS host the quarterfinals EVERY YEAR (odd & even years) and not just every odd year.

I hope you thanked Murphy for wearing the Exorcist hat. We always win when he dons that thing.
I told him all the ladies loved that look.
I think he'll continue to wear it.
