I've already talked to some guys to try and get a jump on this team, but we still have some holes. http://miwt.org This was posted on themat.com to attract teams outside of the Southeast: The McCallie School, in Chattanooga, TN, is inviting teams from all over the country to participate in one of the premiere tournaments in the Southeast, the McCallie Invitational Wrestling Tournament (MIWT). This will be the 33rd year hosting the tournament, and we are looking to grow by expanding our competition outside of the Southeastern region. Last year’s tournament featured 9 schools that finished in the top four of their classification, 24 individual State Champions, and 77 state placers. This year’s field will only be stronger by adding more of the top teams from Georgia (Cambridge HS – 5A State Champs and Cass HS – 4A State Runner Ups). One thing I've always been curious about is the air quality at the Ag Center. I feel like every time we go there I get sick. Also, after only walking around on the main floor for about 20 minutes my shoes are covered in dirt. I think the Traditional State and State Duals have been run great the past few years and have a great support staff in place. Joe Blair, Josh Peck, Pete Miller, Jared Grindstaff and company do a tremendous job helping, but I would love to see a change in venues. I tell people from other states about our State tournament and after they’re done laughing and realize I’m serious, they are dumbfounded.

You may have experienced wrestling at camp and now you can begin to really develop your son’s wrestling skills. Come wrestle with our club! Our goal is to foster a love for the sport, as well as, develop good sportsmanship and character. Success on the mat will come from age appropriate strength conditioning and coaching from our staff put together by the McCallie Wrestling Staff. Most importantly, we want our kids to have fun in the process of developing confidence and skill in athletics. This is our club’s first year as the official McCallie sponsored youth wrestling club. We are extremely excited to have Robert Prigmore as our club head coach, a championship wrestler from University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. His accomplishments include being a Texas State Champion, top place finishes in the Davidson Open and the SoCon Tournament, as well as, Dean’s List and Honor Roll. He originally transferred to UTC from Lehigh University and is in the process of obtaining his Master’s Degree. Cost: $175.00 plus individual tournament registration fees.
