  1. I think you are partially right. Powell is a FORCE in the middle and his experience and size would have helped the young QB. Euverard is a Sophomore and I believe gives MBA a true two dimensional threat. He has a great arm and can also tuck it and run. He showed a lot of courage in the backfield all night, it reminded me of the 2009 win at Ensworth where a sophomore QB was at the helm. (there was a win at Ensworth in 2010 as well) You got to give Ricky his dues,,,, he uses every weapon at his disposal and most of the time very effectively.
  2. The Big Red will have to limit it's turnovers this year. The interceptions and fumbles killed us last year and will have to be kept in check in order to win this game. Ensworth has a very good secondary and historically gives us fits. Grind it out on the ground with the powerful running crew !!! I am most impressed with MBA's kicker this year who has shown great poise and accuracy, if it comes down to a FG, I believe he will put it through. MBA 24 Corn 21
  3. The Big Red were not "horrible" on Friday night. The defense was on the field quite a bit, but I attribute that to an outstanding QB for BA. He was the difference in the game. At 6'5" he found receivers from the pocket where MBA had a heck of a time even seeing the open receivers. How many MBA passes were "tipped" at the line of scrimmage? that's the difference in a 6' QB and a 6'5" QB. He was mobile when needed and rushed for a few key first downs. The MBA running game will be their bread and butter. The talent is there and will bring more success as the year progresses. For the passing game to bring success it will have to be more play action, on the move rather than the Pro-style pocket. I also believe the head coach question should have never been posted here. It is incredible given the circumstances and the schedule that MBA has, to even discuss it with obvious haters. Not the way I saw this game going, but one I am sure this team will learn from.
  4. I am having a good time contemplating the game tomorrow. Based on the results of the matchup with Trinity, MBA should have the advantage. BA at home gives them an edge. I have to admit a week ago i would have given the nod to BA,, but based on what I saw Friday, MBA has the capability to shut down a national powerhouse and could do the same tomorrow night. I was most impressed with the Big Red's heart and "hit em in the mouth" attitude. They executed a masterfully crafted game plan. I believe that is what will determine tomorrow night's outcome. Will that same MBA team take the field with the heart and conviction that almost took down Trinity? It's going to be a great game.
