  1. I did think about it. How long was that post up there before you responded? Did you respond before you knew the cubs/indian score? Anyone can use hindsight. My post was purely about them missing the opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. Instead of serving one audience in county they could have served two at least until the indian fans turned it away in disgust. That's not even to mention that it was a game potentially (albeit minute) for the district title.
  2. Is there no thinking person in charge of the programming at that am station in ashland city? They choose to broadcast sycamore v white house instead of the cubs and indians? REALLY?
  3. Talking about a sportsmanship game! Everytime those two meet you can see the respect. Goodpasture could be a force. Their record definately does not reflect their capability.
  4. That's what I thought as well. Cak found a little extra defense for this game from somewhere.
  5. I don't consider myself nuts. You'll excuse me if I don't hand the trophy over before the games are played.
  6. What goes up must come down. Rome fell and so did the medes and the persians. It happens when you forget what got you where you are...
  7. Yeah the refs blew! One ref said that illegal proceedure is an automatic first down.
  8. I'm a bit impressed by cak... I thought for sure they were vulnerable on defense enough for alcoa to pull away.
  9. All of a sudden the latest playoff projections tend to indicate quad 3 looks the most competitive. You have three single digit seeds in quad three and three teen seeds in quad three.
  10. Well I have heard the term 'river rat' far too many times while residing in cheatham county. You are correct it isn't so much income as it is perceived income. But the prejudice does exist. I have lived in three entirely different parts of that county (petway road (x2), river road, ashland city (x2)) and it is almost like having three different dialects. I guess living in clarksville (x2) is the closest I came to living in north cheatham. I am a firm believer of letting the play on the field doing the talking.
  11. Unfortunately, the game on the field does not always abate this type of noise.
  12. The dynamics you are talking about transcend sports. It is more a social dynamic at play in that area (mostly but not entirely between the have and the have-nots).
  13. It is a statistical argument. There are many more urban schools of that size then there are rural ones. The spirit of the argument still holds true. That school has little other draws on its available talent pool.
  14. But... here is why in 3a middle tennessee seems to miss out compared to the rural schools... The talent goes to the bigger schools in urban areas that is if they don't go to the private schools. Middle tennessee does fine in the higher classifications (and in div II) because that is where the talent (en masse) goes. I acutally addressed my surprise that cheatham seems to have bucked that trend while their potential talent pool is drawn down by two schools (harpeth and sycamore) they have actually performed better in recent years. Rural schools tend to be smaller than urban schools. Eventually cheatham county will (more fully) urbanize with the growth of Nashville (like all the other counties around it are).
  15. I thought at the start of the game waverly had that same mindset. They started out moving the ball crisply. They just got outmanned and made errors an underdog can't make and hope to be victorious.
  16. Every four years (or so) the district is going to change. Cheatham has an opportunity it may not find itself in again in my lifetime. The presence of the titans in middle tennessee may impact hs football in the furture. Just a thought.
  17. So you see it also. That means I ain't crazy or delerious. Well it ain't there nomore.
  18. Then someone hacked coach t and put a bogus score on the scoreboard? It says 81-69. On top of that the list of teams under subcategory standings/highest scoring offenses lists cheatham adjusted average score to include this phantom (?) 9th game.
  19. I've been a little under the weather and I didn't even know this was a thursday night game. 81-69? Who witnessed this game and what insights could you provide for how the game transpired? I love that they scored 81.... but that 69 still leaves a mark.
  20. With those numbers there is still the dilema of where our #1 vote went in the polling? It pulled alcoa into a tie for first.
  21. I couldn't say... It always looks worse when it is happening to you.
