  1. Keep in mind those Ravenwood teams didn't start off with four classes. To go from 9th and 10th graders to a state title in four years is unbelievable. They certainly had some talent and a special QB. I'll always believe that ultimately coaching is what wins in high school football. I base that on my belief that great coaching will overcome great talent more times than not. Maryville would have less accolades if they lost to every team they played that had more talent.
  2. I have seen and heard your dissatisfaction with your current head coach. Elaborate for me. What is he doing or not doing that is holding the Warriors back? Leadership? Organization? Toughness? I am sincere. Just curious. Also, do you agree that the talent pool is down? I wouldn't really accept this as an excuse as a fan because the talent is divided equally around the city/county (by numbers at least). Oakland is winning. Siegel is freaky good right now. Remains to be seen what kind of consistency they'll provide.
  3. Does the AD play a significant role at Franklin? Same AD that Coach Clayton had? I know it's not uncommon for a head coach in football to have a direct line to the principal and the AD stays out of the way. If you have a bad principal (at least for the football cause) that's tough. Hard to put together a staff that way. I am not down on the talent at FHS. From my view, they have enough talent to be 6-2 now. Maybe 7-1. Centennial blasted them with talent that wasn't light years ahead. Mostly, Centennial was faster and they outcoached Franklin. Talent vs. Talent, that wasn't a sure loss. So again, I would expect more than 4-4 at this point. That said, a huge upset and a couple playoff wins and 8-5 with a young team isn't a bad first year. I think 5-5 is realistic. They can beat Independence. I am not writing off the difficulty of transition from coaches but it shouldn't be a huge deal at a school like that if you replace one quality coach with another.
  4. I'll have to disagree with the three year idea. Yes, it's not a business but the circumstances you listed (administration, boosters, parents) were all there for the last leader and he was successful. Don't waste two years implementing changes that aren't needed. All the change needed should be enough for going from the 2nd round/quarterfinals to a ring. There doesn't need to be a two year overhaul. Again, my opinion. I hope they have success much sooner.
  5. Seriously? Somebody gives you the keys to a successful company. You can go bankrupt for the first couple years as long as you show a profit by year three. Did I get that right? Maybe you get a grace period when you take over a program in shambles. Franklin has been a proven winner. You have everything in place, most importantly kids that know how to compete and win, regardless of talent. Anything less than keeping the ball rolling is failing. Just my opinion. Sayittomyface
  6. They were spoiled by hitting the jackpot so early with Brian Rector. The bar was set incredibly high very early. Sayittomyface
  7. notredame66..... You are out of town, yes? Sayittomyface
  8. Brentwood scores till Brentwood gets bored. Gallatin doesn't score. Sayittomyface
  9. I'll take Franklin, 27-10. Young QB should be getting better every week as should a gelling staff.
  10. notredame66 You feel like Indy forced the bad night on Centennial?
  11. Magic8ball 1. Sounds right. 2. Never said I was an Indy fan.
  12. Rector claimed to be next coming of Maryville? And why I am the only one who appreciates the class and chivalry at Independence?
  13. Congrats to Rebels. All wins are good no matter how you feel about the opposition. Hard to be lucky with 22 variables on every play but maybe. Sayittomyface
  14. I see. Don't know him. Don't know about dirty play. Just know Indy Nation gives me the warm fuzzies. CHS faithful quiet because nothing to say. I wouldn't. Sayittomyface
  15. I didn't say anything about dirty play. Sayittomyface
  16. Tough night for the Coogs. Super classy Indy team. Fans were warm and the student section shines as a beacon of hope for the future of this great land. Declaration Way must be proud. Sayittomyface
