  1. An absolutely FANTASTIC football game! Alot of key moments throughout the game that had impact on the momentum of the game. Cascades first drive.....3rd and long and they complete the big pass that allows them to continue the drive and ultimately score. Moore Co. then responds with a drive of there own to score and convert a 2pt conversion to take the lead. At that moment I thought the momentum had changed in Moore Co's favor. WRONG! Cascade responds and scores again 13-8. I have to admit that I personally still fealt pretty confident that we would march down the field and score when we got the ball back, take the lead into halftime, and then get the 2nd half kickoff and take command of the game. WRONG!!! An absolutely "great" onside kick busted my bubble and killed that potential momentum. We finally stop them, but we do not have enough time to score.....13-8 at the half. The 2nd half penalties called on Moore Co. made me feel like I was watching a scene in the movie "Remember The Titans". I am no referee, and there is no way any fan in the stands can see everything, but you do not see unsportsmanlike conduct called on the offense very much without it being pretty obvious to everyone. Generally that is a penalty called on the defense for the most part. Yet we get it called on consecutive plays while on offense, and I still have no idea what we did????? Moore Co. had red zone penalties to overcome, and Cascade had red zone turnovers to overcome.........its all part of the game I guess and changes the momentum. Another momentum changer happened late in the game when Moore Co had to punt. I am sure the Cascade fans were thinking that they would get the ball back, march down the field and score to win the game. WRONG AGAIN! We fumble the snap....Davis makes a huge instinct play to get a first down. Another momentum changer, and ultimately the end of the game. I tip my hat to all of the young men on both teams for playing a great game and doing their best to handle all of the adverse situations thrown at them......Great life lessons for all whether you win or lose! Thats what it is all about!!!!!
  2. Thanks! I truly appreciate it. My son is one of the 6 sophomores, and if he can help the team in any way I will be glad. Any contribution that any of the 6 sophomores can make will be huge for the team, and each of them bring something special to the table to help in some phase of the game. I am sure most of the weight will be put on the 6 upper classmen, as it should, but any contribution from any sophomore that deep in your bench will only make your team better. To be honest......just seeing my son excited to play basketball for the first time in a few years is priceless to me!
  3. This is my son's first year attending Moore Co. due to a move, and I have to say that I have never seen him this happy. He really likes all of his teammates and his coach. I never thought I would ever see the day that he would get up at 5:30 A.M. to lift weights without complaining. I guess there is negative wherever you may be, but based upon past situations my son has been a part of..........Moore Co. is a paradise! Any parent that I have spoken to thus far has only resulted in a positive conversation, the people here have been GREAT! Hopefully the football players that play basketball will bring the success and winning attitude with them to the basketball court and the others will feed off of that. I plan to focus only on the good, because there is a lot of good things right now at Moore Co., and there are a lot of places a whole lot worse......I promise!
  4. I think Moore Co. will be just fine, and I truly doubt any of the players have any esteem problems or even think of the past at all. Great bunch of kids with very positive attitudes. I truly admire the leadership of the upperclassmen attending and setting the standard in the off season conditioning program. My hat is off to all of you!!! Should be a very deep team although it is not loaded with a huge number of upper classmen......6 or 7 juniors and seniors combined, and 6 sophomores . The upper classmen are a nice mixture of players.......shooters, defenders, post play etc... The Sophomore class is also something that i look forward to seeing grow this year and seeing how much they contribute to the team. Archangel is correct........Fayetteville City will definately be "scary good" in the future. I have coached against them, watched them play, and they are very athletic and talented, but still young. I personally cannot pick an order of finish because I do not know much about all of the teams in the district. I have heard that 9A play is very unpredictable and very competative from top to bottom. I love it, and cannot wait!!!! 26 days to practice!!!!!! Good luck to ALL!!!
