  1. DC has the unenviable task of playing Science Hill (90-21), Elizabethton (52-0) and DB back-to-back. Indians win by whatever score they want, but the starters will not play any in the 2nd half. With that premise, can we speculate on the halftime score? I'm going to go with DB 44-6 by half time. Final score? Hard to say, not sure what DB's 2nd/3rd string is like. I also see Crockett getting a couple more wins this season. There are good things in Crockett's future, just be patient fans and let it happen. Very few teams would survive SH, Betsy and DB in back to back games.
  2. Well the thinking goes something like this If SH can beat a VERY good Siegel team on the road in middle TN then they should have no problem with an unranked DB (with 2 losses already) team back home. If SH loses then we see that maybe they are "East TN good" but not "state of TN" good ..... well you get the picture. Like others have said though, until SH can prove it on the field then it's just stuff for us to talk about on msg boards
  3. If science hill wins this one then dobyns bennett is chopped liver on Nov. 1 If siegel wins then the SH/DB game on Nov 1 will be a barn burner
  4. Any update on Sevier County #34? He was carried off the field in the 4th qtr, appeared to be a knee injury and he was in a lot of pain. Been praying for that young man...... If any SC fans are online please keep us updated on his condition, wishing him a speedy recovery BTW, I'm certainly not a DB fan, but the zebras did cheat DB out of a 3rd down after the penalty. But it would have been something like 3rd and 22 instead of 4th and 22. By that point the Smoky Bears had pretty much throttled DB's run game and DB doesn't have much of a passing game, so it's doubtful they would have made a 1st anyway. But as the poster mentioned earlier, they should have had that opportunity. Zebras will be zebras ....... Game could have gone either way, great way to spend a Friday night watching a hard fought close game like this one
  5. You want cool? DB fans, when you guys come to Boone on 10/4 we may let you ride the Blazer Blimp. No, really, we have a blimp at football games. Ok, it's really just a red hot air balloon with GO BLAZERS painted on the side, but still the view is great. Sort of like when you played that metal electric football game back in the 70's
  6. We were there last year in the playoff game, sat on the visitor side, and it was jam packed 30 minutes before the game started. Now this being the reg season, not sure if SC will bring that many or not, but I would not be surprised because the Bears fully expect to win this one and i'm sure the SC fans want to see it happen
  7. Hey Batman, that's pretty good! My wife would agree with you 100%. Actually I have several D-B friends to it's not really that bad, in fact I'm meeting some D-B fans for supper tonite B4 the game, then we will part ways and go to our respective sides of the stadium. Regardless of the outcome, I look for this to be a good hard hitting game from 2 teams who know how to get after each other. Still going with Bears by 10 though.......
  8. Sevier County fans - relax, I am just needling you'uns a little. My team (Daniel Boone) is off tonight so we will be sitting on the visitor side cheering the Bears on to victory. I am picking Sevier Co to win by 10. Don't let me down, we need D-B with some losses before the Boone game on 10/4
  9. The only regular season meeting between these 4 is Nov. 1 with EHS vs. South. Assume a Betsy win, and assume that the other 3 win out as well, how would the playoffs look? Yeah, the TN playoff system is so complicated that we may not be able to unravel it here, but just wondering.... I for one am not ready for football to end on Nov 1, so hoping for some deep playoff games in 4A locally.
  10. Ha-ha, right on, role reversal. DB/SC has been a great matchup the last couple of years. I'm sure both sides will be up for it and ready to play. Boone is off this week so maybe I'll swing by JFJ and catch this one. We (Boone) have you guys Oct 4, just hoping we can keep you under 40
  11. Bears will be hungrier in this one, no doubt they are still feeling the sting from last years playoff loss to DB. What, some SC fans have forgotten?? Ok, let me refresh your memories... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uOmYAbrfWU 1. SC was going in for a sure TD, guy got tackled on the 1 and fumbled, DB recovered 2. SC has it 1st and goal on the 4, could not punch it in (9:30) 3. SC has it 1st and goal on the 10, throws a pick at the 1 (5:22) 4. SC has it on the 40, throws a pick to DB and no Bear was within 30 yards (8:17) 5. SC had plenty of chances to win and blew them all **** hats of to DB's defense **** And speaking of defense, I see lots of defense and turnovers here, so this score may be a little surprising, hang on to your hats ladies & gents..... Remember that you saw it here first Bears 17 Tribe 8
  12. EHS 74, Crockett 6 Pioneers just totally give up after last weeks blowout by SH
  13. You got that right. As a Boone fan I'm pulling for DC in the upset, probably not realistic, but still hoping for a Pioneer victory. I actually see DC matching SH play-for-play for the most part, but SH will burn them on a few really long plays and that will be the difference in the game.
  14. One point of clarification, this is David Crockett High School located in Jonesborough (northeast TN) and NOT Crockett County located near Jackson in west TN. I'm going Science Hill 24-0 ...... oh wait, that's at the end of the 1st quarter ....
  15. Lots of buzz about Crockett being 2-0, and a well deserved congratulations to the Pioneers. But is this one tonight even going to be close, or does SH win by 40?
  16. No offense to HV, but this game is over after the 1st quarter, South 44-6
  17. DC is certainly going to win its share of games this year, but not against SH. Toppers 51 - 6
  18. RR85, that's a good question. DEFENSE - Boone's defense is actually not that bad. Betsy was only up 7-0 with 6 seconds to go until halftime, they were just running out the clock when #28 busted thru, blazers tried to tackle high and missed several times, and he scored after time had already expired, 14-0. Then the second half it looked like nobody was even trying. But the first half defense looked pretty decent. 28 for betsy is going to get a lota yards on a lota teams this year. OFFENSE - Zero passing game, repeat, ZERO. Pass blocking is non-existent. Run blocking is not necessarily that bad, but the QB and RB's are very indecisive about where to run. I am sure the boys are trying their best and I think we all have lots of respect for coach Jenkins, it's just that some years you simply do not have the atheletes. Maybe it's time to try some screens or quick passes just to get a little confidence. SPECIAL TEAMS - Punting is VERY impressive (which is a good thing). Kickoff returns looked good, Boone started on at least the 40 every time. Punt coverage also looked pretty good. OVERALL - 28 for EHS was just way too much for Boone to handle, especially when there was only 1 1st down until near the end of the game. Going to be a tough season for the blazers
  19. Thanks for the confidence in my Blazers, but I will be surprised if we win even 3 games this year. Boone is not way down, we are off the scale (on the wrong end)...
  20. don't want to start some sort of riot on the internet here, but could you elaborate on #5 above? Not saying that you're wrong about Boone, but I think we're all curious. Are you referring to that bench clearing fight with South in the playoffs a couple of years ago?
  21. Boone has maybe 3 winable games this year. Some years you're the windshield, some years you're the bug. Cyclones looked great after the 1st qtr.
  22. 6:00 to go in the 4th, Faragut with the ball @ the 50, leading 17-14
