I am not a follower of either team, however I do have years of involvment with high school football in this area. I would like to say that both teams have had sucessfull years. Considering SGC has only had 2 years of varsity football I feel this entire area should be praising their accomplishments, not criticizing them, i.e. weak schedule, got lucky against Milan, crushed last year in playoffs, will be crushed this year per dawg 44. You get my drift. Whatever happens later in the season one thing can be looked at and cannot be ignored. Over the next few years SGC will grow and continue to attract top notch families. Families such as what is at USJ and other private schools. Families with the resources to fund and develop top notch facilities which will in turn promote top notch football programs. No longer will a good young football player at Medina go play at Milan instead of Gibson Co. He will now play at SGC, thus causing Milan to continue to lose their player base. Milan people cant deny that alot of their players over the years have come from the Medina and Atwood areas. Milan will one day have some years where their player base will run thin. Thus resulting in teams not as competitive as in the past. Then someone named Hornet 44 instead of dawg44 will be on here or some other forum running down Milan and praising SGC. In other words I see the shoe being on the other foot in the near future. Milan is not a growing town, Medina and the South Gibson area is a growing area. All this trash talking by these Milan people better be enjoyed because in the near future it could easily be as the old saying goes, payback is heck. Look at Humboldt once mighty program unbeatable, endless supply of athletes. I feel Milan is in store for the same thing. The economy, the Madison Co school system will dictate this change. My point here is that the Milan people, mainly dawg44, should be proud of SGC and what they have accomplished instead of running them down and talking your smack. Have some class.
