Viking my friend we have athletes walking the halls that would play if the enthusiasm and wins were there! Just think of what would happen? You tell me if I'm wrong, wouldn't you want to be on that field tonight getting cheered for like those young men were tonight evertime you put on that uniform? HECK YEAH YOU WOULD, AND IF YOU SAID ANY DIFFERNT YOU WOULD BE LYING! I didn't say we could win state ever year but be a FINAL 8 or 4 team on a consistent basis and occasionally with a few breaks bring home the gold! Put my athletes on TV Saturdays playing ball too. Wouldn't it be great? But instead let's just sit back and let the same ole buddy system that's been going on for years and let's get that 1 great win every year and be content with that and let that be ok. It's the same ole GRUNDY BULL MESS that's been going on for years that's happening that's why you keep hearing me say let's search and get the right people for the jobs to turn these programs around! And change the mindset of GCHS Athletics.

Tallahassee when you say for the most parts our coaches and players are greatly supported you are so true to a certain extent! How about last years SC game that was the last good crowd we had besides home coming all year if you remember correctly? How about the Signal game last year were u there? After the 2 beat downs of 34-7 to SC AND A 49-7 thumping we took from Silverdale All we had was a handful of fans at that signal game. Our fan base was amazing tonight! Most spirit I have seen in years. In my opinion our players would play there butts off for any coach and they do this every game. Why as a parent would I want this county to fail and just so I could complain? I don't understand? All I'm saying is this how many state titles or quarter final or semi final playoff appearances does this program have? Have you honestly studied the playoff brackets on a yearly basis. Teams with 2 wins can make the playoffs and then lose in the first round just like we have done during these coaches tenure and say well there good because they have made the playoffs? Rayburn could take our team with the talent we have had over the last 4 years and motivate them and get them to the playoffs? I want to see GRUNDY athletics take a step up now and continue to grow and be a force not just in our little sequatchie valley but on a state level in every athletic program we have!!! Not just be content with a win over SC and let that make our season on count of this one game but to expect every time that you put on that GC uniform that nothing else is acceptable but WINNING!! I'm talking a whole new out look on our athletics here in GRUNDY!! I'm looking for the big picture here Tallahassee not just district, region, but STATE MY FRIEND! My argument has always been this the talent has always been here but especially more these last 4 years that if coached and pushed by the right people could be wearing that white helmet with the BIG T on it on Saturdays instead of sitting in a treestand in GRUNDY county. CHANGE OUR WHOLE ATHLETIC MENTALITY! But with the coaches that's here how many Of our athletes have had those opportunities? This Is where my heart lies!! I know you actually believe I'm a disgruntled parent but believe you me I'm not! You would be shocked! I'm not all about the small town political you scratch my back I will hire your son and let him coach as long as you let so and so play. Or, I'll hire them boys because there daddy was one heck of a football player. Like I have always said, a coaches job is to win ballgames, PERIOD! If I'm a high school coach my job is to win games and try my DAMNDEST TO GET MY PLAYERS PLAYING AND SUCCEEDING AT THE COLLEGE LEVEL AS MANY AS I CAN GET THERE! Also this same thing goes on for college coaches, WIN BALLGAMES AND GET YOUR PLAYERS TO THE NFL, NBA,MLB! That's it my friend! Point blank and I hope I have cleared up as much about ole beav as I could with this post! With that being said I AM PROUD TO BE A JACKET!! The excitement you saw and witnessed tonight my friend should be like this evertime we play a sporting event at GCHS in my opinion. WINNING PROGRAMS CREATE GREAT ATMOSPHERES!

Tallahassee. How many times has GRUNDY won a big game with these coaches? I admit I didn't see this coming and neither did SC! Colquitt had 2 weeks to prepare and has seen both GRUNDY games and can't do any better than that? You ate our lunch in Dunlap last year. Lol.

I have not praised them by all means!!! I just said in all the years they have been here this is the first time I have seen these boys this prepared! But in reality there are 7 more games and I guarantee you it's still gonna be a long year!! Just hope this hasn't given them another year!! They still suck, you have heard the saying a blind squirrel will find a nut sometimes too. So don't think for one minute my mind has been changed about this staff!!! But let's just talk about how bad sequatchie sucks!! Blaming the refs, really??? Come on looks like a long year in Dunlap also.

GC wins 36-35. Well here's my question? Does sequatchie suck that bad? But in all honesty, hats off to coach Bryant this is the first time in his tenure as coach that I have seen them this prepared and fired up ready to play ball! I thought at the end we were gonna blow it but, Great Win tonight GRUNDY! Boys you deserve it!!!

14-13 SC with 6:00 left in the 3rd and GC driving on the SC 17

It does not change the outcome I wouldn't think. Sequatchie still wins by 21+. We still have no defense!

I never said in any way or intended in any way that I was Jamie Jacks. As far as that incident it was over last year. I have never ever mentioned anything bad or wished anything bad on any kid, player for that matter. The point I emphasize is I always want what's best for our student athletes I want to see them excel on and off the field and on the court or on the diamond. But wanted you to know that I respect your post and points and points been taken.

Ok coach let's talk about this. For you to not have seen these jr. Jackets play then how do you know about #3? Well for starters there are 11 players that play on offense and defense. If those lineman doesn't block then how does #3 get anywhere? Apparently your the one needing help and trying to take up for your terrible seasons! So your saying the best talented player you had at gchs in the last 5-7 years was #7? If I'm not mistaken he was a WR. So If you do not have a QB then he can't get the ball thrown to him! Also what about #1 you had him for 4 seasons and he was a stud, which by the way should be playing college ball somewhere. He falls in the category of you not helping him by padding his stats and pushing him to be that type of player! He was a work horse on offense and defense! Also the #8 you are referring to having surgery this year was he not on that team last year also? So was 54, 3, 11, 16, 20, 29, 32, 51, 55, 58, 77, 80, 56 what about all of these kids? See You have had the horses!! But all you keep doing is making excuses year after year! Why don't coach quit making excuses and just own up to it that he can't get the job done. Facts are facts! It's not about me growing up, lol lol lol. They have sports talk shows all the time at every level except high school. But in all reality if you can't do your job good enough to stop the criticism then why try and keep up with it on message boards? Just saying? Spend more time trying to figure out how to win ballgames then worrying about coacht! Like I have said in my past post Dooley was nothing more than a mediocre coach, It took UT a couple of seasons to figure that out. Now look what we have and he has brought back enthusiasm and fire to good ole ROCKY TOP!! My question is where is the fire here at BIG GRUNDY? How long has it been since it's been here? I'm not trying to stir up a stink or hard feelings by any means over my comments I'm just stating my opinion if it offends or bothers people then all I can say is there must be some truth in it. If so let it sink in.

I support everything at GRUNDY I always have and I always will. If we aren't responsible enough adults to get our student athletes someone that can help them excel on the field, hardwood, or the diamond, then we are failures as adults, parents, coaches, board members, and director of schools! We are suppose to strive to get our athletes into college, you know Brag, sale your great players! Get the word out for them send highlight videos out to schools, help them pad there stats! I'm obsessed with our student athletes not having the great opportunity that they need to get to the next level because of the coaching staffs our board members an director of schools have gave them! That's what rubs me the wrong way knowing that we could be better than 4-6, 5-5 and this years 2 or 3 wins we might get with the talent we have had in the last few years. It's absolutely pitiful!! These jr jackets could go unbeaten this year and the same kids get to high school they will not get above .500 with what's there now. It's the same kids they beat back then as jr jackets but cannot touch them in high school because they are being coached better. It's just frustrated and humiliating!

I totally agree valley expert. When you hire a head coach that's never even coached at all! What do you expect?? Then he loves reading the post here on coachT and changes screen names ever so often just so he can or family member can defend him! Yea Tallahassee I'm talking about you. Sounds like that Jr. jacket coach might be threatening someone's job if they keep putting up good showings week after week. This has nothing to do with sour grapes it's just getting tired of our boys working there butts off and being humiliated week after week, with no signs of getting any better! That's all. Sequatchie will win big in this one, maybe another Marion game all over again for GC.

That's the thing JACK nobody wants to play for a losing coach year after year!! If you had a winning program kids would be lining up to play!

How big?? Probably 3 to 4 TD's plus. Colquitt will not let up, which who would blame him! Gonna be a LONG season on the mtn.

Wingman there was a push for some changes last year but you see where we still are! I just don't understand why? Our jr. Jackets won tonight 31-0 over Dayton but when we get to high school under this coaching staff this is what happens. That's the same thing our seniors that graduated last year did when they were jr jackets. When we get to high school can't even go .500.

It's just now the end of the 3rd and it's 42-15.

Did you really expect it to be any different? It's a shame and disgrace that we are still under this regime! Gonna be a long 3 months on the mountain! But it has for the last few years!

Should travel good right now everyone expects better things at the beginning of the season. Then reality sits in after about 3-4 games and then fans see it's the same old thing then the crowds drop drastically.

MC by 14+ is my prediction.

GRUNDY has the talent but they can't overcome the biggest obstacle that's been with them for years! Lack of coaching! Marion rolls by 14+ unfortunately.

Same one you were! Doesn't matter how you look at it whether it was 2's or first string you or our coaches let it happen!! You or they still haven't improved and neither has this team since you or they have been here! Be a man and own up to it!! This year isn't gonna be any different than the rest. Maybe after this year you or they will be replaced. Because looks like jr. Jackets have got a good team coming up. If we can get them a coach GRUNDY might be competitive.

The last few years have been a LONG season at GRUNDY!

Well GRUNDY goes to Coffee last night and took a beating. As far as I remember it was 42-7 in Coffees favor this Coffee team finished at 0-10 last season. So they are either much improved or we are in that bad of shape. Mr. Board member where's my guarantee of them being better now? Open your eyes GC board and so called athletic committee! It's time to pull the trigger!!!
