  1. UT will be better this year! This is his 2nd season I guarantee it will be better!! Look how long the Bryant's have been here just like Dooley and it hasn't gotten any better. He got the axe and in my opinion if this year isn't any better that's what needs to happen for sure this year! Which it should have already happened. You must be a family member, huh. Guess that's how the Bryant's ended up with it no one else wanted it so we had to settle for rock bottom. So it's got to be up hill with another hire. You let someone who could coach have the talent we have had in the last 4 years and I guarantee we would have done better than 4-6 and 5-5 with 2 of those wins coming from 0-10 Whitwell and 1-9 Grace. Face it folks WE NEED COACHES FOR OUR STUDENT ATHLETES!!!
  2. Yea, yea, yea. Same old song or story that gets sung or told year after year since they have been here!! How long is it gonna take for you people to open your eyes? They (Bryant's) ARE NOT COACHES!! They are gentlemen with good character by all means but not coaches. When are our coaches here gonna be held accountable for not winning ballgames not just on the football field either I'm talking on the hardwood too. People of GRUNDY I'm thinking this is the last straw in my opinion! A board member said on GCTV himself he guaranteed it to be better. Things (staff) have to change before they get better and guess what? There's not been a change!! Making them have little camps for youngsters isn't gonna change our programs, only new coaches will. If UT would have kept Dooley would Tennessee have ever gotten better? Think about it.........
  3. This one will shape up like the rest of the season I'm afraid, in a bad way. I have been hearing we have had some key injuries. But look at it this way same coaching staff= same results! Enough said, sorry!
  4. Lonnie it's like this, the people of GRUNDY does not like change. They still like the good ole buddy system to be in place. Our athletic programs are in desperate need of facelifts. Yea they should have done lots of things. I saw on our local channel 6 (GCTV) that a board member promised there was gonna be a difference in our football program this year. He guaranteed it! Well, We still have the same head coach so therefore nothing at all is gonna be any different. Look at UT nothing was ever gonna change as long as Dooley was there. Now they are headed in the right direction. Let's face it, change is good. Mr. Board member only time will tell. But after this time and things doesn't change will this be the nail in the coffin for this staff and let's get someone here that will turn this program around?
  5. To my understanding we had a coach that stepped down during the off season one who had been with the Bryant's from the start. Do you think he finally realized he wasn't coaching material and decided to move on or was it for other reasons? If him realizing and finally opening his eyes was the problem I wished it would get contagious and more would follow suit. What's your thoughts?
  6. Not sure how many players are out for sure right now.
  7. IMO As long as these coaching clowns are still here we will never be that competitive.
  8. It's gonna be a LONG year up here in GRUNDY.
  9. Well yeller jacket I totally agree. Maybe if enough people contacted the board members and told them how dissatisfied everyone is then there might be changes but if we sit back and say nothing then that means everyone's content. If this is how it goes down then there will never be change. They had there opportunity when the incident went down last year during football but didn't pull the trigger when they had the perfect opportunity.
  10. Well wingman you must have not kept up with this thread at all by asking me that question. We need a coach with a proven record and not a home grown boy. In football and basketball. If these changes doesn't happen soon we are gonna hit rock bottom! Even worse than it has now. Do you not agree?
  11. Does that surprise you? When we go 3-7 or 2-8 and have a below .500 record this year the Bryant's will still be here. GRUNDY football has went down the you know what in my opinion. I have NO faith in anything this whole staff is doing here. IMO they are a joke as coaches and make our young men look bad and imbarrass them. It looks like mr ambassador and DC tiger fan doesnt know jack about athletics here in GRUNDY and neither does the board member or the sources you claim to have. We are suppose to have a new director appointed that's to start soon but not sure if he will fall in the same shoes as the last one or will he rock the boat and make changes for the better. Only time will tell I guess. We need change in GRUNDY.
  12. I would like to give a big shout out and congratulations to Coach Jones and GRUNDY CO. Boys for bringing back GCHS Baseball!! Regular season district champs! It's been long over due. Look what happens when we bring new blood into a program!! Let's hope it's contagious and catches on.
  13. I would like to give a big shout out and congratulations to Coach Jones and GRUNDY CO. Boys for bringing back GCHS Baseball!! Regular season district champs! It's been long over due. Look what happens when we bring new blood into a program!! Let's hope it's contagious and catches on.
  14. Fan I have watched these young lady's play ball and despite the youth they have they are actually a pretty solid team. I know Dekalb is undefeated and all but I think GRUNDY gives them all they want and could possibly get the Win! This is one of the few bright spots in GRUNDY's future. Unless things change.
  15. Well according to the GC Herald this week we have something else positive going on at GCHS if you can call it a sport. Our cheerleading team won a competition and is headed to nationals. Yes also our bass team. Plus our diamond teams are putting together something we haven't seen in a few years. Just hope our football and bball teams try and follow suit this coming year. Go GRUNDY. Time for change. These sports that are taking off now have had a change and look what's happening...
  16. I know that nite train. But the softball and baseball programs is the only positive programs we have going here now.
  17. It does sorda make sense. That would also have us drop to single A too. What one good coach are we losing?
  18. I have to totally disagree with you nite train. We cannot be competitive with one school in three sports why would we want 2 schools? I say let's get it in gear and find some good coaches.
  19. Well people do we think the new director is gonna make changes? He is just getting back in a position he has had before. I honestly don't think he wants to get in and rock the boat. Do you? But If this is gonna happen then why doesn't he go ahead and pull the strings and get the Bryant's gone and move forward because we're losing what talent from these student athletes now. As far as our board member if I recall the board agreed back during the late summer months to instill themselves with the same code of conduct our athletes and students are under including dress code. We have had athletes get dismissed without opportunity to return and this in my opinion isn't any different. If we only had a law enforcement that inforced the law to all the citizens instead of the repeat offenders here it might have had a different outcome. But like I have said in past post it's the same old GRUNDY BS! Time for change in 2014! I say clean house in football an both round ball teams myself. Just my opinion. Would love to hear your opinions and comments on this.
  20. So yellerjacket they have talked To coaches? Which coaches? Football, boys basketball, girls basketball? Do you care to elaborate, please. From what I hear sounds like nothing's gonna happen. It's all hush hush. I just figured since who these coaches are them and there families are friends of the program and school and nothing will happen. But for the athletes sake you would hope they would see it for there self. I believe we have to get busy to make this happen and not drag out feet or this coming year will be a wash also.
  21. I would like to know what we are waiting around on here in GC? It's time for a change and what seems to be the hold up. We had a let down on the football field this year also on the hardwood both boys and girls. How long has it been since our lady jackets has finished this terrible 2 straight years? People this has been a very depressing year so far in GCHS Athletics. Hopefully our baseball and softball seasons will be a bright spot. Come on administration and board step up to the plate for our student athletes!!! Please!!! It's an embarrassment. Because we are capable of so much more with our talent here.
  22. Opie that's always been the GRUNDY way! It's all about politics! I don't think we need anyone even from the Pickett days. We need new blood no one from here. My thoughts are to get a proven assistant from one of these big schools that's been a proven big time winner year after year that's looking for an opportunity to prove him self and his skills. This is what I'm thinking this program needs. That's realistically thinking. But what would be even better is to get a proven head coach with a proven background. Which is probably thinking out of the box. But this is just my opinion! TIME FOR CHANGE IN 2014!
  23. It goes to show you how screwed up our program is, period! Also best thing to do since your a nut don't worry about GC hopefully it will get straightened out after this year. If what I'm hearing is so. This thread is titled for last year and the other one is titled 2014. If your not from GRUNDY why are you so worried about it?
  24. It's not a point where they want to, it's a point either you do it or get fired! Glad you know so much and are so close billy.
