  1. Congrats Peabody on another remarkable season. Took a hiatus from the T half way through the season to focus on some health & family so I’ve missed a lot of the banter throughout the rest of the regular season & post season but I did continue to watch every game Friday night.. Congrats to Meigs on another successful season as well. The Tigers wouldn’t go away quietly yesterday & I respect that fight.

  2. The officiating was certainly subpar at best. But what can you do? High School officials are few & far between so I’m grateful for these guys that work full time jobs & then officiate these games on the side just so these kids can play some ball. It’s really just pick your poison... would you rather play a game with average officiating (sometimes below average) or not play at all because there isn’t anyone that wants to officiate? That being said, McKenzie has a good football team. I don’t think anybody was questioning that. Peabody again shows what championship programs are all about. Even when they don’t have their best stuff & things don’t always go there way, they grit & grind out victories. No matter the circumstance.

I wish we were where we were in 2012....

Small town football. The ebbs & flows of talented kids comes in waves. There will be a time in the future when Milan will be up & Peabody will be down. It’s the cycle but hopefully this current cycle lasts for a while longer. Milan has a really good football team. No question about it. Peabody has a championship football team & they were a prime example of it. Down 13-0 before they even got off the bus but didn’t waiver once in fear. They took it one drive at a time & put up 34 unanswered points. Milan punched Peabody in the mouth right out of the gate & the Tide responded. Can’t say Milan responded once Peabody returned the favor. That’s the stuff that championship teams do. Peabody was on the losing end of those games for a few years before they got to where they are now. Milan will be the same way. Best of luck to the dawgs the rest of the way.

Wanna tell the Peabody faithful congrats. Your line play is great and the young qb makes smart decisions and will be a good one. This dawg tips his had to you guys. Much respect.

Respect. Bulldogs have the weapons. They’re going to learn how to win. You guys are where Peabody was in 2012.

  5. Can't wait to watch the livestream tomorrow night. It is hard for me to give an edge to either team due to the newness that is taking the field tomorrow. Peabody is trying to replace the best football team that they have ever had with a lot of younger kids with only a little bit of experience. A lot of the kids playing for Peabody now did play a lot the past 2 seasons but not during the grit and grind games that require the mental toughness to push through and make a play late in the game. Milan will be a great test to see how a young Peabody team picks up from where they last left off. On the other hand, Milan is ready to show off a new stadium headed up by a young vibrant head coach. This is the first Milan and Peabody game in quite some time that I can't clearly pick a winner. Win, lose, or draw, I'm just happy to have some high school football be played given how this year has been.

The hospitals closed elective procedures in March to make room for Covid patients. We were told a surge was coming that would overwhelm the hospitals. (that's why we were staying at home). The surge never came. We had convention centers, huge ships, and outdoor hospitals set up for COvid patients that never arrived. Hospitals had to lay off staff because they had no patients to treat.

Now we have March, April, and May patients scheduled with June and July's. Hospitals are swamped with bypass surgeries, stent placements, joint replacements, etc. Things most patients do not consider elective. The media is making the full hospitals seem like they are all Covid cases.

No need for me to make my points. @Salem your posts are spot on with my thoughts. Well done.

Bottom line is kids should be in school & sports should be played. Period.

I'd love for that to be broken down into who was coaching their respective team, when they were coaching and win loss ratio for the years coached.  Definitely not for a name and shame type deal but more of a wow look what this guy did since he took over instead. Although it would also show who may have run a program down as well. Truth is someone always has to lose and will fit in that category, But i would enjoy seeing what different a coach and his staff made to a program be it in wins or losses.

Good point. Also helps when great groups of kids come through. Peabody has fielded great teams consistently over the past decade. Not necessarily the case from 2000-2009. Peabody did have a semifinal run in 2007 or 2008 I can’t remember which year exactly, but for most of the 2000s, they were mediocre for the most part. Average teams with average athletes & average coaching. I think Meigs is a good example of the kids too. Look at the records from this year’s graduating class from the time they were freshman... So the kids definitely play a good role along with the coaching as whether or not they’re going to be a good team. It does take two to tango.
