  1. Thanks mustangpop. We look forward to the trip and another Friday night of fun - win or lose. I can tell from looking at stats that your qb is a monster. Like I said in the previous post, if we can't slow him down, it will be a long night. We're just enjoying a deeper run than any of us expected. This team is a good group of boys coached by some great men that we all really respect. Just happy their hard work is paying off on the field and in the classroom. I'm sure your coaches are the same kind of men. You don't coach HS football for the big bucks You do it to pour something into a young man's life.
  2. Hey BigSwo, Sorry if my first comment came off as secretive - wasn't intended that way. What I meant was, you won't see any trickery. Our offense features a speedy halfback (#7). He lines up in the backfield as well as in the slot. And then, it's get him the ball and see if the blocking is there. Most of the time around the end but also up the middle. A little sliver and he can make things happen. Our qb is also quite good on keepers and he's a good passer (we just don't need to throw the ball very often). He's a coach's son (meaning he's very smart with the ball and doesn't make bad decisions). From looking at your team stats, we're up against much the same as we were with Cwood. QB is capable of big things with the running game and if he can't be stopped then it's going to be a long night. We had a tough time with Cwood's qb most of the night (witnessed by their 35 points). They had a 4-and-10 last night with the game on the line and one of our boys was left unblocked and was on top of the qb at about the same time as the shotgun snap. It was one of the plays of the night for our defense and we stopped a drive at just the right time.
  3. I would call it "you know what is coming, good luck stopping it".
  4. Now now wildcat89. After these predictions for the Collinwood game, I wouldn't be so fast to come over here and start prognosticating......... (just yankin' your chain a little) Cwood still wins, #4 and #7 will be the difference in this one. I don't know what type offense Nc runs but coming from nutural standpoint, Cwoods defense is pretty good with or without #5. I been watching 1a football for many years and they can shut you down at any time. Cwood 21 Nc 14 Trojans by 7, 28-22!
  5. I'll be glad to sit and watch the game film with ya.
  6. Same song - sixth verse. Never seen such a dirty team
  7. Cwood's gonna set a record for personal fouls
  8. Same song - fifth verse. The dirty play continues
  9. Real class on the Cwood team. The qb is yelling at our parents from the field before taking a snap
  10. Thanks cardfan. Here it is - clipped from the TSSAA website: Semifinal Hosts Determined by Quarter Final Games Class 1A UPPER BRACKET (2) Coalfield (10-1) at (1) Greenback (10-1) (4) Eagleville (8-4) at (2) Gordonsville (10-1) If Greenback wins, they will host. If Eagleville wins, they travel to the winner of Coalfield/Greenback. If Coalfield & Gordonsville win, Gordonsville will host. LOWER BRACKET (3) Nashville Christian (10-2) at (1) Collinwood (9-2) (3) Huntingdon (10-2) at (1) West Carroll (9-2) If West Carroll wins, they will host. If Nashville Christian wins, they travel to the winner of West Carroll/Huntingdon. If Collinwoood & Huntingdon win, Collinwood will host.
  11. Hey Jeg, How is that determined since both NCS and Huntingdon are #3 seeds? I was curious where we would be playing if we win and Huntingdon wins.
  12. From another website (writer Harold Huggins): Another surprise team of the postseason is Nashville Christian School. After an early-season region loss to Clarksville Academy, the Eagles traveled up I-24 last Friday and scored a resounding 24-0 victory over the hosts. That landed NCS in the Class 1A quarterfinals for just the second time in school history. Tailback Phillip Booker continued his outstanding season with a 178-yard, one-touchdown game, and the defense forced five turnovers (three fumbles and two interceptions). "I thought that was clearly our best game of the season, offensively and defensively,'' coach Jeff Brothers said. "And Booker was dynamite running the ball.†The Eagles (10-2) are a much better team than the one they had two months ago. "We're a much better team than the one which played CA earlier in the year,†Brothers said. "We had a number of players who were trying out for new positions, but I knew we had a good team in the making.'' Next up is a quarterfinal trip to Collinwood (9-2) on Friday. "They have an outstanding quarterback, and a good defense,'' Brothers said. "We're only the second team in school history to make the quarterfinals, and I hope we can keep it going.''
  13. I'll be at the game too but will probably be so nervous that I won't be able to type on my iPhone
  14. Thanks for those awesome directions, macattack. Now if I end up in a cornfield in Alabama, I won't be too happy Good luck to the Trojans. I don't expect anything but a close game - no matter who wins.
