  1. Thanks to the contributors to this forum, I appreciate it. It's been educational and entertaining at the same time. Definitely adds to the game and my enjoyment of high school football in general. Once again, I hope it's a great game with both teams playing their best and the best team winning in an injury free game. That's all I ever hope for. Drive safe. This article is hot off the press! Enjoy: http://m.knoxnews.com/news/2012/nov/29/cak-out-to-prove-in-state-championship-game-it/ Peace!!
  2. CAK stopped Alcoa's 2pt conversion attempt at the end of the second game preventing OT. It was an awesome game. We blew a pretty decent lead as well.
  3. I did not see anyone besides Alcoa doing this. They did it both games. I didn't see the Gibbs or Scott games.
  4. FBD might be able to give Lou Holtz a run for his money...no doubt, but in all seriousness, is there anybody in the west MORE decorated than Milan? Just curious.
  5. THAT...is awesome! haha (agreed on the 200yds ....and maybe even closer to 300, but it pts....pts...pts)
  6. I do. I'm sure the team definitely does. As for the tshirts....heck...seems like the winner can always pull out a hat or tshirt. Both teams would make them if one does. Just sayin...
  7. I love this rope a dope analogy you've been using FBD, it describes this team to a T. I cannot believe how well they do this. SEVERAL games this year I've been sitting with friends who were cheering for our opponent who undoubtedly were excited their team was keeping up after the first couple of possessions (trading scores). Of course, each time they started with some good natured ribbing....or even smack talk. My smug response was the same each time: "but it's going to be like this all game can you keep pace?". It's a serious question. I am very confident the score will be tied or close to it after the first quarter and a half. I'm hoping, that's when the separation starts. Milan is a serious team. We cannot take anything for granted. I'm just hoping history somewhat repeats itself, even if we only win by a point.
  8. You care to elaborate on how? I obviously am struggling with this option as I can't find any place to vote. Or am I not a "member"?
  9. I spent 45 mins trying to come up with "the moral of the story" or a Confucius saying but came up blank......so.....it entertained/occupied me for a while! haha
  10. Virtually all the CAK posters are probably more qualified to answer this than I am, but out of boredom, curiosity of how much I know, and ....well, just wanting to buy Kermit some more time, I'll take a stab at what I think I know, and some of it might be close. The school was founded in 1977. I think in a Sunday school classroom actually (K-5), and it blossomed from there. Our website says we added grades 7 and 8 in 1978. I think they've only had a varsity football program for about 10 years. 98% of the players went to CAK in middle school as opposed to coming to CAK in 9th grade or later. The rest I'll lift off our website: 1985 CAK’s high school building was completed and occupied in January; the elementary building opened in September. 1999 The Campus Center with gym, stage and administrative offices opened. The spring band concert inaugurated the use of the building. The baseball field was completed in the spring. 2001-2006 Pre-K program opened and new classrooms built. The school also saw the addition of a new playground, a lighted football stadium, an eight-lane track, a lighted softball field, a lighted soccer stadium and new parking lots and athletic field houses.
  11. I think we're going to be ok and win this one. I saw Ms Howell this morning and I told her to get in Davis's face and scream "JUST WIN!!" and she had this puzzled look on her face as if to say 'duh....no kidding, I already do that', and kind of nodded and backed away. So...I think she's going to handle it. As for the players that won't have the benefit of Ms Howell screaming in their face, I'll do it here (in my best Ms. Howell impersonation)..."JUST WIN THIS GAME!!!" (also, congratulations to CAK on their unanimous selection in City View Magazine as Best Private School in the Elementary, Middle and High School categories)
  12. Thanks for the reply. Is this feature available to all members? I see no place for me to vote up or down on anyone's post. Thanks.
  13. ty for the humor!! haha (running back to the safety of my sheltered life)
  14. How do you build reputation points?
  15. I didn't. That's part of the "etc etc etc".....I had to stop the post at some point and made a judgement call to go with etc lol.
  16. Let's not forget... Twenty-four (24) district/region championships: 1971, 1974, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1981, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2011. Twelve undefeated regular seasons: 1971, 1974, 1977, 1984, 1985, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1999, 2003, 2008, and 2009 Twenty-five (25) 10+ win seasons: 1971, 1974, 1977, 1980, 1981, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 etc etc etc
  17. That's a good post Big P....but your signature really does speak volumes. There is no way a team with that much experience is a "HUGE" underdog. Recent history alone has you guys in the last 4 of 5 CHAMPIONSHIP games. What happened in 2010? Milan deserves every bit of respect we give Alcoa....all day long. I am pretty sure our team and players know this, I just think it bears repeating.
  18. Nice Kermit, thanks for sharing that. I'll be looking for the next newsflash!
  19. I sincerely believe you could and I agree, our guys really have to be prepared and have their nose to the grindstone if they want to win this game. They do have to study hard. As for the intimidation, my take is this....'recent events' do play into this. I think we have an advantage when we step onto the field. I think the Milan players will look at our guys as an imposing, somewhat intimidating force just because of what happened last year. It has to be in the back of their mind. It's real no matter what they say or how they prepare. This however could work against us...we could come out lax and rest on our laurels from last year not realizing we did get a bit lucky to have the outcome we had. I think the start of the game is going to have a huge impact on emotion and confidence levels coming out of the gate. Milan must have a good start imho and if that happens, CAK can be in some real trouble, real fast. I also concur with govolsknox....lots of points, CAK comes out on top....even if it's just by one (with a slight edge coming from the CAK fans).
