  1. Norwood did not quit, she's injured. She will be missed on the court but is very much apart of the team. And to show why Bearden is the number one team in the district, they didn't skip a beat against Lenoir City on Saturday. As for Bearden losing players....Denton is the only one to quit and she quit every team she was on. She could have been good, but we'll never know. She never stuck around one place long enough to prove herself.
  2. Just to be clear...Bearden is the number one team in the district according to every statistic that matters...wins & losses! I feel sorry for the Lady Admirals, how can they ever live up to the LADADAD hype. Not really a Heritage fan, but I will be on Tuesday--Go Mountaineers!
  3. Ladadad, Bearden has once again proven itself to be a 4AAA elite team (Coaches and Players). Everyone knows this but you. Not surprising, your basketball insights are lacking. Heritage is a good team, but they have to be clicking on all cylinders to be successful and I have yet to see them put together a complete game against a quality opponent. When they get the offense and the defense going at the same time they will be hard to beat. Until then I like Bearden's chances to lead the district.
  4. Sorry, Midnight Ghost, pretty sure your from the Cassie Knight camp. Nothing to be ashamed of. Sounds like she could become a really good player in the next couple years. It all seems like a lot of talk for teams which are below or barely .500. The district will come down to West Knox...Bearden & Farragut. Right now Bearden has the edge as they are the only district team to beat Faragut this year. No arguing, Farragut is loaded. But Bulldogs have Walsh and Lexi leading some very hungry younger players improving with each game. Coach has done a great job getting these girls prepared for each opponent. Other teams...Maryville, Heritage, etc...can get hot at district tournament, but they won't be able to catch Bearden or Farragut for the top two seeds.
  5. Where is everyone heading for Christmas Tournaments. I know Bearden is at Bristol, where is everyone else going?
  6. Very young, but they can get hot with outside shots. Not much defense though.
  7. Luckily the girls on most of these teams play with a lot more class than what shows up on this sight. I think it is fine to discuss basketball or any other sport, but let's remember they are student athletes who have worked hard for years. They can be at the bottom of the district, they can be at the bottom of the state. If they play with heart and commitment they deserve respect. One thing we can all agree on....Go District 4AAA
  8. Is she the curly head girl that pays for the Threat?
  9. Agree--there is no surprises when you play for him. they just need to go back to the earlier combinations of players who were ready to play and stop getting into the hype of the next new star. The best player doesn't always make the best teammate, and this is a team sport.
  10. The district will come down to the battle of west knox---Bearden vs. Farragut. Farragut is the better team, but Bearden can get hot and bring it on an given night.
  11. I have been watching this district play for a lot of years. Coach Howard is what he is. You don't have to agree with his style or methods, but players can't use that as the excuse. When you play there, that's part of the territory. No surprises. He actually seems calmer than he did 5-8 years ago. Then again, it's not my kid he's yelling at so it is all perspective.
  12. Rough week for Heritage while the west knox teams continue to be strong. If Heritage can't get their chemistry back on track I think we are still looking at Bearden and Farragut at the top of the district. Farragut is the only one ready to take on the Riverdales and Science Hills of the state.
  13. I saw several of the Heritage girls play together in spring AAU. Then saw them a few times over the summer where they seemed so in sync. I was worried they were getting ready to take over the district. What happened? I have only seen them a couple times this season but they are completely different from the team we saw this summer, especially in the post. Looks like they need to get their chemistry back. They don't really seem like they will be able to challenge Farragut, Bearden or Maryville from what I saw this week.
