  1. The recruiters are not coming to the high schools and watching the players like they used to. They are going to the travel ball turnaments and the showcases. And that hurts the kids that don't play travel ball.

  2. I hate to admit it Donkey.... but you are correct. from '95-'98 we were 2-3 against Huntingdung. However, we did have the one that counted in the '98 playoffs 3rd round. We beat you in the last minute and went on to win the championship. I'll take that one.... you guys can have the regular season wins.

What is it with towns that start with "M" with the name calling?
  3. Since you want to go prehistoric, check back on into the '40's give or take and you will find the Rebs had there days back then too. EVERYBODY recognizes that Huntingdon has been dominant in this matchup historically but what matters is NOW. Forever, Tennessee beat Vandy. Did you see their game this past season?? It will likely happen again this year. History is just that. Has nothing to do with the future.

So mckenzie had their little run would you not call that in the past since Huntingdon has won the last 2. And not only won but won running away with them, like the Mustangs used to do. In the 5 mckenzie won I don't think you every won by more than 17pts. Huntingdon won with a running clock,35pts and 22pts the last 2 games. Thur giving mckenzie air time. Back to Mustang football.
  4. Yeah... purple is a catchy color. However, horse has nightmares about it as do most people in Huntingdon!!!

No more nightmares than you have of the blue and gold.Way I got it figured you lost as many or may have lost more than you won against the Mustangs when you played.
  5. Oh my, the kids are getting spunky now!!!! horse, tell me, how many times in the last 7-8 seasons has your guys beaten the Rebels??? The answer to that question is what I've gotten used to. I'm sure your memory will fail you on this but here's a clue..........."2"! Couple of years ago ya'll had a senior class graduate having never beaten the Rebels. Ya'll still have a decent program but how good that is depends entirely on the talent pool one has. Some other folks are catching up to ya'll so get over it. The Warbrittons and Diebold and a couple of others gave ya'll a winning edge in this area but they are gone. We got spots to fill too but roosters don't crow 'till sunrise and that ain't happening untill next fall!!

Mckenzie has won 9 times in the last 57 years, 5 of them 9 came in 06'-10'. Probably the worst 5 year span of footall played in Huntingdon since the program begin. But every good program goes thur a 4 or 5 year dry spell at some point. How many senior classes in a roll have gone thur mckenzie and never beat the Mustangs?

  6. No doubt when the only comment available to him is

something about "whining". I'm waiting for evidence. I'll admit openly on here that I don't like losing to Huntingdon. BUT, I don't like losing to anyone so...............!!!

Hey yea we had a bad game so what we got the silver ball and if yall want a rematch well then come on over to West Tennessee and get one. We would not have two bad games in a row, so keep talking trash or call Comer and ask for a rematch and this time you will get to see Johnson run the ball your team has never seen a white boy as fast as him.So shut up.

I found one of my favorites. You may not like losing to Huntingdon but as long as you have been losing to them, you probably getting used to it.

  7. We're more used to them than ya'll are so no big deal really.

When we talk with ya'll we do zing each other a good bit in season but then meet before games and visit and it's always good to meet up. We respect that and know ya'll do too. For a fact, it's all about supporting our kids ( well my kids playing days are well over now but still......still got the grandson thing in Gleason and of course McKenzie is home so........!) But I did pull for Dresden when ya'll made it to the show.

LOL, it's startin' to look like you, Butchie, BigPurple and I are just around to keep horse entertained?????

I can assure you there's nothing entertaining about grown men whining all the time.
  8.

Sup ysoangry! If we could get along......???? Now us and ya'll seem to get along pretty well. But, consider what you would be asking for in this case!!! LOL This particular feud actually goes back to somewhere around the 1850's and had nothing to do with football obviously in 1850. Now it seems that sports is the only avenue for the feelings even though most don't have a clue where it originally came from.

Honestly over the years I've found quite a few posters from the south side of the creek that are good to talk with on here and I enjoy talking with them. On the other hand.....! There are the horses of this world. Odd that they beat us for 20 years straight and it's just another Friday night beat down. We beat them 5-6 years straight and they vanish from CoachT for the most part. They beat us twice and FINALLY make it to the Class A Championship game.......that didn't work out too well. Probably everybody in Tennessee knew the play that was gonna be run. Thinking back I recall some of the Hoserdon faithful predicting a long string of State Championships when they were moved down to Class A. The counter is waiting to click over to 1???? Where is Gordonsville anyway??? Just kidding, I know exactly where it is.

I haven't heard anyone from the north side of the creek crying about our games with Hoserdon the last couple of years other than it is somewhat like a bad toothache to lose to them people. But I ain't gonna cry about that, I'll just go to the dentist. Admittedly, both sides have a few of "those" people but at least ours only show up on game week and we all know them when they post.

Moving right along, ya'll have a good summer.

Other than you and the town idiot, who from mckenzie has been posting on here the last couple of years? And ya'll post on all the other threads more than the mckenzie thread.

  9. Yeah... we let everyone have the spring. Makes us hungry when the fall roles around!!! I remember a couple of years ago... we scrimmaged Haywood in the spring. We got beat 38-9. The next fall we went 13-2 and Haywood was 3-7. Morris doesn't care about W/L's in scrimmages. They are about trying kids in many different positions and seeing where he can best use them.

You must treat the championship game like spring. Not very hungry so you let the clock run so you can get out of there alot quicker.

  10. If you people could get along that would be a really good idea. The scrimmage team gets the money each year. You guys are brilliant!!!!!

Its bad enuff listening to them whine and cry once a year. There's not enuff money to listen to it twice a year.

  11. Union City may be a dark horse to some but they do have great pitching pretty deep in their lineup. The Treece kid sports a 0.21 era and is 10-0. They have another one that lost one game at the start of the season and is unbeaten since. The left handed center fielder comes in as a closer and is lights out. Parker is his name. The other kid struggled some early but has come on strong the last half including a no no in district tournament. Not saying they will win it all but having four really good pitchers in a tournament is usually a good thing. They do have to get by Scott's hill first though.

They may have pitching but do not have the hitting to win it all.

  12. Not taking much away from Drew Hayes because he is a great baseball player, but I always thought he was overrated. Not saying he wasnt good but I know some McKenzie people that said he was better than Derreck Carr & that makes me mad. I always thought Carr was a lot better at football and as a quarterback. One things for sure they are both better than the one playing now, that kid you got now has a arm on him but needs to work on his accuracy. Carr got to play against the Vols a few years ago, & I know it wasnt the best score but a small college like the one he played at doesnt have the talent a SEC team would have.

Anyway I think we will be a quarterfinal team at least again I could be wrong we still got some talent but lost a lot so some of this new blood has gotta step up.

This is a Huntingdon thread, fans from Huntingdon could care less who was better.

  13. he will be a senior and is highly recruited by many D1 schools including Alabama. If his receivers will catch the ball they should be improved.

I've seen him the past two years I don't see D1 talent. He has the sizes the D1 schools think you have to be, but is not that accurate of a passer. Better runner than passer.
