  1. Any word on how things are going at Independence, Spring Hill, Giles Brentwood and Antioch since all have new coaches? Since these jobs have been filled there have been no comments on anything. Just curious!

You all think schemes win games - people win games. More importantly - people doing the right and proper things wins games!
  3. Good person - good coach - good hire. All the right things are about him - good job Giles County!
  4. Well if you knew anything at all there was recruting going on. Get the phone that your principal had and read the text messages. And as far as knowing anything - I do - was in the middle of it as a supporter of my friend. Saw the informationm 1st hand - talked to lots of people involved before him and they all verify lots of things that have been denied. Mentioned I'd talk privately - I do know much about what is going on - at both places.
  5. Giles is a very good job - no matter what folks say O'connor did a terrific job building a program - and many coaches would like to be in that situation. And to your credit - you spoke the truth about the former coach at marshall County - and my commenta about nobody wanting the giles job was a reaction to the comment made about what happened to my friend at Marshall. I hope whoever gets the Giles job is given an opportunity to be himself and build his program - and not subjected to the scrutiny of what others say, think and compare him to. Each coach is his own person - not an extension of someone else. Good luck to whomever the new coach is at Giles - and good luck to my friend at Spring Hill.
  6. How do you know he didn't contact them? I for one know for a fact that he did - talked to the principal in fact long before the SH situation was offered. As for the comment about his backgournd at Marshall County made by the person above - you may know a lot about Giles County - but you know nothing about Marshall County and should not speak of situations you know nothing about!!! I AM privy to what happened there - and it is not at all anything like was presented by the director of schools - who lied out her behind when she said she did not know about it - we can get into specifics privatley if you like - but know this - the only person(s) at fault regarding that situation was/were the school board/new school director. Your comment just shows why nobody wants the job - way too many know-it-alls who actually know nothing at all!
  7. Should have contacted the former Marshall County coach - you all let him get away to Spring Hill. I know for a fact he was extrememly interested in the GC job. And wasn't afraid of oconnors success. Now he would have been great with the team, coaches and community. Say what you want about him - he had it turned at MCHS in 2 years!
  8. Interesting info - they (Williamson County) make you think they invented all - even football coaching! Interesting
  9. Wow - you two need a referee! Let's get on with the real questions - why did Pemberton leave? Has BHS done anything different form the past as in PE wgt lilfting or are they still having to go early in the AM when school is in session? Wouldn't Rhea County be a lateral move? I can't believe it is a better job than Brentwood.
  10. Is that a good move for him? I would thin k it is a step in the opposite direction? Any reasons why he left? Didn't they make it to the qtr.s again this year vs Mt. juliet? Is that why he left - they got blasted by MJHS?
  11. Are you talking about Brentwood high School? Where did the coach from last season go? Did I miss something on this job opening? Just curious!
  12. Been out of the state traveling on business. Just got on to see if there were any comments about turchetta at SH - interesting about how folks did not want him to leave Mt. Juliet. With the comments about him from earlier when names were bandied about again interesting that folks talk of his positive affect on the program at MJ when it was already established as a winning program. As far as I am concerned I choose to believe my friends at MCHS and agree that SH hired the right person for the job. Way too many affirmatives about him for it to be a wrong choice. Good luck to the Raiders and the new coach!
  13. I don't think so - from friends of his - he has already asked Moe and Ray and both are committed elsewhere. However, he might be interested in you!
  14. AGREED - MANY PRAYERS FOR COACH MCADAMS - A VERY CLASS ACT AND TERRIFIC PERSON. GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS!
  15. No joke - the last time I checked, the Giles Co. team beat the Marshall county team - in the playoffs. Establishing a personality after losing for so long takes time - beating Giles during the regualr season was a terrific accomplishment. If memory serves me, lots of people were conceding the 4A state championship to Giles - and they lost againd in the semi's.
  16. As an acquaintence of turchetta's through other friends - thanks for being positive - and sometimes everyone forgets that in the middle of all of this are the kids - and I agree with your statement!
  17. Answered my own question in today's Columbia paper - turchetta has been announced as the next coach at Spring Hill. At least the search is over and the kids at Spring Hill have someone to latch onto.
  18. Is that a Freudian slip? Or do you have knowledge that he is the choice?
  19. I have nothing in mind, really. Just looking over the situation, it appears that the decision is one of youth or experience. From the mouths of other coaches around the area, SH is in a dire financial situation and in need of someone who can both fund raise, build a team, work with young coaches. To me, all that adds up to an experienced person to run the program. However, reading LeRoyBrowns post, the decision has already been made. I don't have the inside as he professes, but if he is correct, then through my friends in Marshall County, I am glad turchetta is going to get another chance. If he is correct?
  20. From a bit of inside knowledge (very little) - Callahan and Hickman are exactly on the same page regarding the hire. There is a great deal of speculation about the position - probably best to let the powers to be make the decision and then support whomever gets the job. Everyone will not be satisfied about the next HC - and I am quite sure lots will voice their opinion which is just fine - but the kids and current coachihng staff at SH need experience and decisive leadership right now. So let's all of us support the new coach when he is announced and root for the loyal athletes and coaches who are there and waited patiently for this to come to a resolution.
  21. That is why I said - make the hire and take care of the SH kids. We are in agreement on this!
  22. I have not responded after all the information regarding Hoath getting the SH job. Been doing a bit of research and asking questions of my ubiquitous informants - athletes at Mt. P - Absolutely - Marco Dailey - went to a JR. College in Kansas because of a lack of grades; Harlan would have been highly recruited except for his poor decision and incident that he was involved in this summer. Richardson started as a 9th grader for Walt Smith - and then went on to Ensworth and sat out his Jr. year because of the transfer rule. Both Herzog and Turchetta would not apply for a 1A program. From what I hear - turchetta is happy at Mt. Juliet and Herzog is enjoying time off after umpteen years coaching. Hoath would be a most popular hire at SH - but that program needs experience and someone with savvy to turn it around. Not saying Hoath doesn't have either - but popularity is not the only thing needed to run a successful program. Based on all the comments about him, he is a terrific candidate and would do a very good job. The only hitch (if you please) is what others say about experience. Other than that - make the hire and help those kids at SH!
  23. Good for Coach Hoath - I hope he gets it then!
  24. Have any favorites emerged at this point?
