  1. I actually had Harvey written in at 138 but thought he had been too good, and like Pergande, too many people already know how good he is to fit the dark horse tag
  2. Yeah it takes a while. That’s why I’m waiting til tomorrow when I have the day off and can actually sit down and fill them out
  3. Pergande is my pick to make the finals from the top half of 138. But he’s too good and too well known to fit the dark horse tag
  4. Here we go! We will start at 106 (duh). Also they aren’t listed in any particular order. 5. Come one, come all! See my yearly state analysis! (If you wanna call it that Haha). Same as years past, without making picks (I’ll do that in another post) I will give you my list of 4 favorites and 2 dark horses for each weight and the team race. Take it as you will. Agree, disagree.. I don’t really care. Feel free to throw in some more names that may be on your radar. Although I will say this, just because I don’t list someone, doesn’t mean I don’t think they are good or that they won’t medal or that they can’t win. Just trying to narrow a list down to 4 is hard so I’m gonna do my best to make it my top 4 favorites. Feel free to share yours as well. I love having other people’s lists to compare with. Also side note, my dark horse may not be a dark horse to you, but it’s gonna be someone Unranked/under the radar who I think can get on the podium. Guys you wouldn’t think of right off the bat
  6. Pretty bad haha. And he was a pretty good wrestler too. But deakin is a whole nother animal.
  7. This is correct. But he usually doesn’t get points scored on him like that. Even with Isbell. I think Christian just got on a roll and racked up some points late. They also see each other a lot so I wouldn’t be surprised if that had something to do with it. They know each other well
  8. Oh 100%. Schultz is one of a kind. He’ll be a world champion. I actually had a family member who wrestled Ryan Deakin. That’s another one who I do not envy his opponents. He is incredible. Gonna be a 4 time AA I think and a 2 or 3 time champion.
  9. My apologies! I got side tracked and never came back to it. They are not in Indiana. They are in Colorado. As far as locks go, Kramer is definitely numero uno. As far as a second lock I’m torn between Palmer and Rippy. I’ll say Palmer, only because I had Rippy as a sure fire lock last year and it burnt me with the upset loss to Fowler. Kramer could very well pin all he way though. Palmer I think could at the minimum major all the way through.
  10. I will take some time the next couple days to really dive into the brackets and give you guys my famous (joke) in depth analysis for those of you who enjoy that kind of stuff. I usually go all out whether people actually look at it all or not but I figure someone should do it! I’m lookin out for all you casual fans! Ha
  11. BBF did it intend to answer your own messages? Lol or did you forget to switch accounts?
  12. It’s all so dumb. They won’t take the extra time to don’t righht. I’ll gladly do it for free. Just so it’s legit. Sign me up.
  13. I don’t think it would take long at all. They have a week to do it. It could easily be done by Wednesday. Or even for a “big reveal” Thursday morning at weigh ins. If I remember right, most tournaments don’t post brackets til the day off anyways so it would be no different
  14. Looks like Tony Wilson vs Arthur James first round. Unbelievable. 2 returning medalists and top 4 guys stuck meeting in the 1st round
  15. I believe it’s set up where no 2 region champs meet until the quarters. Could be wrong but I believe they all get their own little 4 person quadrant with a 2, 3, and 4 from other regions. So you won’t see 2 region champs in the first round or a 1 and 2 from the same region in the first couple rounds. Atleast I think that’s how it used to work. May be different now
  16. It’s crazy that they have it all up the morning after regions end. Just shows again that there is 0 thought and effort put into it. Anyways, it’s probably all subject to change but head over and have a look!
  17. 132 got turned on it’s head. 113 seemed crazy. Palmer dominated the first 2 periods then Isbell came storming back. Wouldn’t be surprised if we saw that match again with medal implications next week. Same with 106. All 4 of those guys could end up on the podium.
  18. You guys have to all realize something, adding divisions isn’t what waters down competition. It’s adding divisions when there is no competition. If that makes sense. Multiple states have upwards of 5 or 6 divisions and they all FLOURISH. There are 1A and 2A guys and teams that can compete with the 5A and 6A guys. Heck, there’s some states “small school” teams that I’d take over a lot of the schools in Tennessee. If they can all do it and have top notch programs from 1A-6A, then that shows you that expansion and more divisions isn’t the issue. It’s the fact that in Tennessee, we just don’t have the number of schools or level of talent to run more divisions and it actually be good competition. I hate to say it but it’s true. That’s why you see the “watered down” conditions. Not because there’s multiple divisions, but because we just don’t have the number of schools or talent level to have 3 competitive divisions. What works best for other states doesn’t work best for us. I don’t think it ever should’ve gone to 3. It should’ve stayed at 2. D1 and D2. I get that we want the sport to grow...but handing out medals won’t do it. Atleast not in a good way. It needs to grow because kids strive to be the best overall. It should always be about striving to be the absolute best. I don’t mean to put the A/AA guys down, but a kid would get much better, and try much harder, if they were aiming and training to beat Michael Kramer and not Elijah Zweydorff. Make sense? Take NCAA for example. If you’re a freshman coming in and you were 149, you’d work your tail off and train as hard as you could cause you know you have to beat Zain to win. Whereas if the guy at the top of your weight is another freshman or someone else not as proven, you still work hard, but the mountain isn’t as massive so you feel better about your chances and whether you realize it or not, you don’t train as hard. Because it’s not as steep of a hill to climb. I hope that all makes sense.
  19. My point, as pointed out above, was simply that it’s not fair to the kids who have to go through a 16 man bracket to qualify while others have a 5 man bracket. There could be a kid from one region who finishes 5th that’s more deserving that someone who has to finish 4th out of 5. I know it’s not the kids fault and I’m not blaming the kids. It’s not their fault. It’s tssaa. They are he ones who make jacked up Region alignments and won’t fix it.
  20. It’s ridiculous. I have family who wrestles in another state and they have 5 divisions, 1A-5A. Each division has 4 regions. And the state tournament is 16 man brackets. AND they use the main arena in the state that seats 20k for the state tournament. There is no duals tournament. There are guys from literally every division, that go D1 and can compete anywhere. Yet we split classes so that the little guys get a chance. I know it’s like comparing apples to oranges. But if other states can churn out fair tournaments and proper seeding and top talent with 5 divisions, why can’t we do it with 3? Are we really that much worse talent wise than everyone else?
  21. You’re right I’m sorry. Just my lashing out about the region alignment. Just not fair to kids who have full brackets. If you only have to win once to qualify, something is wrong.
  22. I saw where Cole won. That’s a big one. 132 will be crazy
  23. In a region with 5 and 6 man brackets. I’m not impressed
  24. Yikes. That’s unfortunate. Could’ve been near the top of the podium this year. Hope he has a quick recovery
  25. What happened to Weist?
