  1. I'm not sure I agree with the idea of poor conditioning, lack of stretching, too much hitting, etc...it just happens, sometimes no matter what...everyone please just stop whining about it!!!
  2. Most of the injured players have returned but players get hurt in football and I hate to see OR fans get caught up in whining. Top programs just don't do that, and OR is traditionally a top program...so my message is to stop whining.
  3. Listening and reading Oak Ridge fans making "factual" excuses has become nauseating and sad. All excuses are excuses and they all stink. I hope players don't read this garbage.
  4. I felt like this a year ago but many of you have changed my mind. So let me get this straight...Oak Ridgers now don't want to play good teams?
  5. We have to much talent to ever be held to seven points (I know it was technically 14...but it was really 7)
  6. Pretty funny Sybil quote BUT I'll stand by what I said earlier. Powell is NOT good on defense but since our region is so weak this year, they seem to have the best defense in the region and #6 is the best defensive player that I've seen. OR is the only team, other than lowly Halls, that they held to less than three TDs.
  7. Ridiculous. This game will be competitive...OR might not win...but they might! OR will have more speed and athletic ability and Greenville will have a big edge up front...we'll see how it plays out.
  8. You sound like an OR fan...be careful, you'll be making excuses for everything pretty soon.
  9. #6 for Powell is an absolute beast...he's a great defender. Powell might actually have the best defense in the region...because nobody in the region is very good on defense, unfortunately. I hope OR gets better on defense between now and the playoffs
  10. The Powell defense is NOT good. Through five of the six games before playing OR (excluding lowly Halls who they held to three points), they had allowed an average of 32 points (48,38,28,24,22), and OR realistically scored 7 because the last score was an interception by Powell who literally lateraled the ball to the OR player, who scored. So yes, I stand by my description of the Powell defense as being terrible...but they were good enough to hold OR to 7 points and then a fluke 7 with seconds left.
  11. The fact that we're even talking about how many starters are missing and who is injured is part of the problem. This is ridiculous. Talking about this kind of thing is bad and if it starts at the top, it's worse. Get the plays in on time...tackle...cover the pass...stop whining...etc. I doubt OR will have more talent than they have right now for a while, so make the best of it. I thought the QB looked better than any QB has all year...where has he been...hurt????? The season is not lost...OR can still finish second in the region, and we should. Get ready for Greenville and stop whining...fans included!
  12. I really hope you're kidding because I thought that sideline slide was ridiculous
  13. It is GAME DAY !!! And Powell better watch out...with your defense, it's going to take an offensive explosion to beat the Ridge!!!
  14. I'll tell you what to expect...an offensive shootout! The OR defense is better than Powell's, so I expect (and want) OR to win. It could go either way but the Powell defense is AWFUL and the OR defense is pretty good. If our QB play is good and our offensive line play is just fair, we will win this game! Our kicking game is way better than theirs. We have injuries and I'm sick of hearing about them because we're like every football team in America...we have injuries and those who are healthy, just have to get the job done!
  15. OR will win this game because Powell can't stop anyone...except Halls who is absolutely awful. Powell will score some points but they can't stop OR...final score... OR 38 - Powell 35
  16. You are a little sensitive my friend. I'm glad you give the shirts out and the players love them...but I think you de-value them when you give them out after a bad loss or to someone who didn't play a good game. I wouldn't want one after a loss because I'm more about the team than about getting an award after a loss...but that's just me. And you're right...it's none of my business just like my opinion is none of your business. Thanks for the kind words Willie...I need them to feel good about myself RWR!
  17. Nobody said bounder wasn't a true fan. I just think if you give everyone an award, especially those who don't deserve an award, then the award is diminished...or it loses its value. You can disagree with me if you want and "screwball me" if you want...but I have an opinion just like yours, but I don't wish to "screwball" your opinion. But according to your philosophy, you might as well give everyone on the team a shirt, or an award, so as to not hurt anyone's feelings. But if I had been given that shirt after the Farragut game, even though I desperately would have wanted one...I would've respectfully declined the shirt and hoped I got won after a win. But I actually do appreciate the fact that bounder gives out the shirts...
  18. I completely agree that the kids love the shirts and I'm glad that bounder presents them to the players. But my point is that if he gives them out no matter how good or bad someone plays, then that diminishes the value of the shirt. This is an opinion board and my opinion is that nobody deserved a shirt, at least not that shirt, after the Farragut game. If I was playing high school football, I would love to get that shirt! But after the Farragut game, the only shirt that an OR player should've gotten is one that says "I GOT MINE WHIPPED". But in this instance, the only opinion that matters is bounder's...he's paying for the shirts and giving them out...and the players love them. I just want them to be relevant.
  19. This might be true but it's hard to take you very seriously anymore after you issued those two shirts after the Farragut game
  20. You've taken the "silver lining" philosophy to a new level !!! Too many penalties...ejections are too frequent...mouthing by players is common...that's what we better work on...I'll leave it at that..
  21. He sounded sad and like they had lost the game...but it was an ugly game, so I'm not sure how anyone would've sounded.
  22. I think Clinton is better than I thought they would be and Powell is worse than I thought they would be.
  23. I'm not sure what to make of what I just saw. I'm just glad it's over. We had too many penalties, we lost a starting LB, we lost a QB, and I'm pretty sure we had 2-3 turnovers, and I think I saw an official signal another starter of ours ejected. No grades and no further comments. Let's get ready for Powell...they barely beat Clinton
