I have to say I sure have a lot of respect for Blackman to venture into a game like this. Hope they pull it off.

Maryville hasn't done much the second half because GQ put the dogs up and let the pups get a chance to play while most teams kelp on playing their first team. Maryville has enough respect for Farragut to not take them for granted. Maryville 35-14

I can see how Fulton had so many points now. Hate to see a program get into this kind of shape. It was just a few short years ago D. Young was there and Bearden was a tough team to deal with and now it's like the sky has fallen in over there. What happened that created this mess?
-
I kind of figured Farragut would win this one tonight. Does this knock W.B. out of the playoffs.
-
Good luck to Jake's son tonight and hope him the best from all the guys from the Liar's Club. Hope they pull it off.
-
Well here it goes. I'm picking Farragut based on how each team played against West. That's really my best guess. Love to see Gov91 get into the playoffs and be 5-5 which would be on a path of progress for their program. The JV team looks good and the future is in the younger players there.
-
49-14 will be the score tonight. All the boys will get to play tonight and Bearden will score on the reserves which is just fine here. The first team will be out by middle of the second Quarter.42-0 at half.

Barney please don't confuse me with your pal Gov91. I have never predicted what WB's record will be this year. If they do manage to win the next two I will be thrilled. If they don't I'm still proud to be a Governor supporter.
Hey I'm pulling for you all but if someone told me you had to bet your life on the game I would have to pick Farragut. I would love to eat my words if they could pull it off.

In the end I guess it don't matter because the T$$AA will not let go of one of those golden playoff games they get half the gate money from. What ever happens during the season and all the hardships it will cause fans and schools in travel money is the least of concerns for Barney Moneygrabber. Not going to give an inch there no matter what happens.

Gov i'm a perfectionist. Can't stand things not to be done right and that's why I get out of control sometimes. Running out of Chick-Fil-A's, eight minute quarters, The Stupid 32 and trying to get you to realize W.B. isn't going 5-5 this year are enough to drive someone crazy.
-
Well I'm glad Alcoa did the right thing. Why all the secrecy and make people think you would drop down into a league your JV team could win the trophy in.
-
You know I'm just havin' fun with Barney. That one was almost too easy!!! Sad thing is, I'm not sure he's just having fun. He seems to have an awful distaste for us WB folks.
20 cans is all it takes if a skunk sprays you. So it takes more if you go to County Farm Road to watch a ballgame your saying.
-
If I were one of those small schools that Alcoa has to play in 2-A I would all get together and forfeit the Alcoa game so Rankin could set at home and watch replays on the jumbo tron next year to teach him a lesson. That school was built to take on more kids next year and that big apartment complex behind Wal-Mart that looks like a city in itself will sent tons of kids to that school next year. What is his thinking, they could win the 4-A if they wanted. When you do stuff like that you lose everyone's respect.

You people are a joke. Maryville has easily been the best team in the state over the last decade and your fans, parents, students have to sit back and make wisecracks on the teams they defeat. At Thursday nights game, the student section was cussing and yelling at the WB players and now you are worried about 8 minute games. Have any of you thought to look down from your throne and think, just for a second, that maybe the idea of 8 minute quarters was to get your sorry butts off the WB campus?
Well I hate going there myself because I have to stop at the store and get twenty cans of tomato juice to take a bath in to get the smell out so I won't stink the next day.
-
I can just about guarantee Mike White did not agree to play 8 minute quarters. I wasn't there, and this wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong, but I've seen Mike fighting mad about 8 minute quarters.
I think your right on this one. I was upset because I watched W.B. run a drive that ate up 90% of the first quarter but I wasn't watching so I didn't notice the first being eight minutes but I sure did the second and I though the clock operator had made a mistake. Then starting the third started and eight minutes popped up on the clock and yes that was me yelling at Justin Ridge if he couldn't afford the light bill. It was like take everyone's money and lets shorten the game and get out of here because it's cold. If I were William Blount I would take every extra minute I could to get those younger boys all the experience they could handle for next year. To me that showed someone didn't give a flip down there and was more worried about getting home early. I also know that someone reads this board and he needs to think about what I just said or his time there will be short lived.

Will they take the JV team to Kingsport on Monday. Heck no and half the other places also. Don't do it George. I don't plan on taking all those trips and I've been to 97% of the games since I got out of school in the seventies. If GQ wants to let Barney Moneygrabber break the football budget that's all and fine but he ain't going to break my pockets running all over Tennessee for a football game. Go back to three or four classes and let that be that.
-
Big Time Football playing in a Little League and wiil be playing in a Smaller League next year. It feels great to dominate the Pee-ons from these Poor Rural East Tennessee Towns. It feels so good we want to watch each play twice on the Big Screen so it will feel twice as good.
LOL!! Sorry I can't help from laughing here.

This is like being given two types of posion and having to make a decision on which one to take. Well I would stay in %A and I'll tell you why. Rutherford County will eventually have three thousand kids going to those schools and when that happens it will be unfair to play them no matter who you are. I don't plan on getting in the car and travelling all over Tennessee to watch Maryville play on Friday nights because ole Barney Childress can't give up any of his playoff games in order to cut this thing down to 4 or 5 classes like it should be in the first place.
-
And another thing Gov, a young man got hurt during the game last night in almost the same area your qb got hurt in and I took a picture of the same thing you went wild about the other night. The Maryville players are standing together and the WB players are on one knee. There is nothing at all wrong with how Maryville conducted themselves. They were standing as a group and as concerned over the situation as WB and I can assure you that. There isn't a kid on that team that didn't feel bad for the boy that broke his leg. Those kids may go to different schools but they all know each other well and there is no way in the world those kids from M
aryville weren't concerned.
-
Wow ... "good and stupid WB folks" conspired together to shorten the game ...
Or perhaps, coaches from both schools represented got together before the game started and made a mutual decision to play 8 minute quarters. Does that mean that the Maryville people are "good and stupid" also? Just curious.
Gov if I wanted to watch an eight minute quarter I would have went and watched a midget league game last night instead. At least when you paid the teller you knew you were getting eight minutes there. When you go to County Farm Road to watch a game you never know what is going to happen but it's never good.
-
Well William Blount is going green folks. In order to save on the light bill tonight they played eight minute quarters instead of ten minutes. Was a good game at one time but Maryville pulled away in the second half. Maybe that was the reason we played eight minutes to help save face. This place reminds me of the old Everett High School Bulldogs because you could expect something good and stupid like that to happen there also. William Blount JV did look half way decent and the QB sure looked good from what I saw.

Maryville and William Blount JV game at WB tonight at 6.30 p.m. My thoughts and prayers for the young man that got hurt the other night from William Blount.

in Class 5A & Class 6A

This is really going to be a measuring stick for the State of Tennesse with one of the best teams to represent the state. No doubt everyone in the state will be pulling for Blackman. It will be very interesting to see how well the best from this state compete's with another. Eventually I see no other option for Maryville down the road or play an eight or nine game schedule because no one will want to play them anymore so this game will answer a lot of good questions.
