The Govs are much better off than the other end of town. They had there chance but no one is going to transfer and play for that guy and that was their opportunity to build something descent but that time has passed and they are going to be 3-7,4-6 at best. Robert has still got a chance to grow and improve from year to year the other guy not so much

Both teams are no better than the other. 29-28 will tell you that. Their both getting better and towards the end Heritage played a hand full of freshmen and was actually playing better by seasons end. The only knock on Heritage is how long will the coach stay. The big knock on WB will be replacing a real athlete that played QB-DB and Punter and very good at each position. Just very thankful both teams are out of the dumpster fire zone and stay that way.

  2. A dumpster fire doesn't mean anything wrong with the kids that are playing football for these programs but usually how things are handled by adults that have an effect on these programs that put them in bad positions. A lot of people may have forgotten this but Sunbright had good seasons in the past like 2010 8-3, 2011 7-4, 2012 7-4, 2014 7-5 2017 6-5 and even 2020 the covid year they had a 4-7 record but since they are 2-28. Now all the sudden no one wants to play or even coach there so what has happened.

It’s probably time to give that AD in LA some credit. Huge improvement in the direction of the football program finishing 2nd in the county and the boys hoops team is tops in the county with eyes on the state tourney. If they can get a little more out of the spring guys, it will be a complete 180. Congrats to that guy!

I will be the first to admit, I had them going 1-9 last season especially how that Mo East game went down in 2022. I realize they had a very soft schedule but actually that was a good thing because those kids would never buy in if they were thrown in the cage with the likes of a Bearden  and Bradley and a couple more teams. This is one of those situations where enrollment should be thrown out the window because it's harder fielding a football team when some of your kids live far out as Tallahassee and Six Mile. You almost have to throw those numbers away and use common sense which the TSSAA has none at all.

They are the longest continuous game on SP's schedule outside of Whitwell.  They have never beat SP on the field (0 - 41).  They have beat Jasper and Whitwell.  They are about 32 & 13 vs. Whitwell.   They have had some decent teams off and on over the years, but depth has always been a problem and a serious one the past 2 years.  They aren't a dumpster fire.

    Thanks rlh

@BarneySox2007 define the  "dumpster fire" meaning  in your topic heading.

    Team's records?  Plus?   Other things?

Lookout Valley does well to field a team year in and year out, but yet they do.

There are small schools that struggle with low enrollments,   And I'd never call them a dumpster fire for stepping up and trying to compete in football in the TSSAA playoff format.

So, "define" it in your terms.

I realize small schools struggle but Lookout Valley has usually had a decent team then 0-10 then next year 5-5. That is the norm in the smaller schools. Hoping to find out why some of these schools are having troubles.

Don't count on the TSSAA fixing anything. They are moving in the other direction.

They'll put the thing out of business. They have everyone driving all over the place every year to play 45 teams all across the state for an enrollment system that don't work. I'm a contractor/business owner that predicts games every week and I was 80.5% this year without the help of any media or info on most teams but I do that for fun but most and forall to show how predictable it is and why people don't show up at games like they used to because it don't take an Albert Einstein to figure out who will win so most chose not to waste time in boredom that night and do something different and save the 100 mile drive.

  7. CaptainGuru I'm sure someone will apply but I hope they do some hard thinking before uprooting their family to move into an environment where a pack of local dingdongs turned a school into suspending a coach on an investigation which really turned out to be a crock of BS over a zealous town idiot with a pocket full of money and a little bit of power who thought his kid should be the starting QB. Whoever inherits this mess will have to deal with it for the next three years and hope there's no younger brothers coming down the line. Most likely they'll have to keep one or both of the assistants that stuck a knife in the past coaches back also from what I have read. For the kids sake I do hope they find a good coach but whoever does think they can overcome what was allowed to happen to the past coach they better think real hard before diving into a mess like this.

  8. After getting beat by Bradley twice and watching Oakland do the same to the Bears and them Houston manhandled the Patriots like they did it sent me into an abyss, I see no hope of ever returning to the stage we once took for granted. This has no bearing on GQ leaving or Coach Hunt's coaching ability. We plainly don't have the athletes or the size players that schools like Oakland or Houston have or ever will especially the size. It's very hard to accept knowing there aren't any good answers and what's worse is watching Bearden join the crowd right in front of our eyes. The game has caught up to us. I myself would rather not do as some schools have and go raid other programs or support this NIL nonsense which is the beginning of the end. An uneven playing field is now before us that only the TSSAA can fix before it gets so far out of hand people will quit coming to the games,
