  1. There has been two other backs that have stepped up and done a great job. They run the ball hard. The O-Line is the ones that have to step up.
  2. Alcoa mercy rules SCTrousdale mercy rules MC MTCS beats Cannon White Co beats York DC beats Warren LA beats Stone Memorial Gville beats Upperman-too close for comfort for me. My last two picks were the hardest
  3. Pretty sure I said this about a week ago. Livingston is way overrated.
  4. I didn't attend I was just told he was ejected. A couple of years ago when McCoy got ejected he stayed on the sideline for a couple of plays then was told to go to the locker room. Maybe the official didn't care if they stayed on the sideline? I'm just speculating. Don't really know for sure
  5. Roy I hope you don't leave your book in that Marshall's man restroom again, that was all a big mess. But Daniels is 300+ he's not 290 from looking at him. I think Cason is gonna have a big night. Upperman hasn't seen a back like him in a while. And in my opinion he's better than Manning AND Gregory. The underrated player in this game is Billy Newton. He gets the 2nd most carries and had a huge game against Coalfield in the playoffs last year rushing for more than a 100. He is Cason's blocking back right now but they could give him the ball and not miss a beast. Also Dusten Holder gets a lot of carries. He's an upcoming sophomore and just as fast as Cason but doesn't have the power. We have a stable of running backs and a solid quarterback. If we can just get the line to block were gonna have a very good season. I don't know whos gonna block Ely. But I think Clemons is gonna light a fire under somebody and they'll get it done. Like I said. Gville in a close one.
  6. SC 27-0 over Jackson Co. Manning got in a fight and got ejected. Will miss Alcoa game.
  7. I thought I would start this before Roy had a chance to give his synopsis. I really don't know how this Friday is gonna go. It's hard to gauge on scrimmages. The men will be separated from the pretenders this Friday night. One way or the other. If Gville wants to win they're gonna have to block and run the football right at Baxter. If Baxter wants to win they have to shut down Gvilles running game. And I don't think you can shut down Cason. With that being said I think Gordonsville wins. But way closer than some people think. I believe in Coach Marshall and staff. Go Big Blue!
  8. Just got a call from a friend and Gville and Cascade starters went 3-3 But extra points were 3-1 in Gvilles favor. Gville got up early on Cascade 14-0. The first two drives. Then apparently Gville turned it over twice on their own 15 and Cascade scores 3 unanswered touchdowns. Then Gville regains composure and marches down the field again. Gville only connected on 1 pass and started at their own 20 every time. That's all I got. Maybe someone from Cascade can fill in the holes apparently 7 really showed out tonight
  9. What time is the Upperman jamboree I might try to make it out to Sparta.
  10. Ralph Salsbury was the LG and Taylor Agee was the LT. So right now we have Keigan Daniels at LT ??? at LG Trevor Glover at C Cody Quarles at RG and Dalton Stogsdill at RT. If their practice jersey numbers are right. Right now I think Glover at Center is looking the best. Big kid with great blood lines. Him or Quarles
  11. Get well soon Croz! Gville has a scrimmage at Cascade tommorow. I won't be able to make it but I hope someone from Cascade will be able to tell how it went. Found out today that our starting left guard that got hurt on the 1st series of the Dekalb scrimmage will be out till at least Week 3. I hope his backup can step up. Also found out that our starting left tackle in the spring quit about a week ago. He missed a week of fall practice on vacation and he didn't start anymore so I guess he saw the writing on the wall. But still a good player because we are so thin up front.
  12. I feel like we're the 3rd best team in the East. The only way that is not true is if Gville doesn't show up ready to play.
  13. Just going by what I seen with the two teams. I hope most of those players were lineman.
  14. You cannot be pleased with tonight's scrimmage..... Maybe Gville just played better tonight than against Dekalb. The scores were the same.... I just felt much better about tonight
  15. I believe it was the other way around. Is Wharton and Gauldeen gonna help the Big Orange?
  16. I told you! Dekalb is a TD or two better than Livingston. Either those suspensions really hurt LA or Gville came to play tonight.
  17. Just got back from the Gordonsville/Livingston scrimmage starters went 2-2 again. But I feel better about this one. Gordonsville was the clear cut winner. The two scores came from breakdowns in the secondary. The offensive line looked much improved today. They looked calm and like they had been there before. No jitters. Cason busted a run right up the centers butt for the first score. Trucking 3 secondary guys and running 50 yards on the way. Secondary looked weak again. Run defense between the tackle was very solid for Gville. Outside the tackles it was average. Those suspensions might have hurt LA but Gville won the battle of the trenches. Noticed 3 Upperman coaches on there way out of the scrimmage also. QB play didn't improve that much. Neither did the play calling. Passing the ball too much for my taste but I guess I'm just old school. The season is about here. I'm ready for it
  18. You're right maybe I am spoiled. I could be a little harsh on the young guys. But they do play with heart and they do care. That's all you can ask for. Everything else will take care of itself.
  19. haha I agree. But it's been close the past two years.... We was only a starting linebacker away last year but I don't want to open that can of worms. This Tiger team will fight and they do care. But I don't believe all this about SC. They will come into Gordonsville on August 30 with their A+++ game. They always do
  20. I believe it was Phillip Fulmer who once said "Looks like Tarzan plays like Jane" but on a serious note our line isn't that good to be honest. They just aren't battle tested. But it is the quickest line I have ever seen in years at Gordonsville. Offense and Defense. Gville could have a new identity this year and just try to beat people to the edge. But I don't think I would ever see that happen. I still think we're gonna try to run it between the tackles. The old Gordonsville way and just "outmean people"
  21. I ask that y'all will remember Croz. He is back in the hospital again with his leg. Infection got in there and he has took a big setback. Long time CoachT and Big Blue supporter.
  22. So are you saying "this is the year" for the "JV team down South"? Because looking at SC's schedule Gordonsville is the 6th probably 7th best team on there. I think you are underestimating the Owls. Give them some time.
  23. Scrimmage is tommorow at 5:30. Livingston at Gordonsville m but I look for it to get cancelled due to rain. But if they do play I'm wanting to see an improved o-line and QB play. That's the two things that I think need to be helped the most. But that is the least expiernced on the team.
  24. He has offers from Navy Duke and Memphis I believe. Hes in the class of 2015 so still a young kid. I couldn't see the QB playing anywhere else besides QB. He's not physical enough
