  1. we weren't very succesful in the state tourney but we're going on to hooptown to have some more fun ya'll come on now & let's just play for fun .
  2. no one is talking about the viqueens so I thought I'd mention this little noticed fact; they have 4 of 5 starters returning & Casey Boyce {#3, red hair} will hopefully be recovered from a torn ACL that happened in Jan. They also had a good strong bench last year & those girls got some good playing time. I hope they do well next season.
  3. SSS 11u walked rite-on to victory in shelbyville just as they did in lawrenceburg the week before. excellent outside shooting & a strong post game delivers offense backed up by a stifeling defense. hope to see them go all the way. good luck girls, stay focused & work hard, u already have all the fundamentals, so learn now to use them wisely.
  4. shelbyville sport shop 11u took the championship Sunday afternoon from the Lexington hoopsters in a relatively easy effort winning by approx. 15 points. the Hoopsters had a fairly strong inside game but just couldn't seem to overcome shelbyville's outside shooting along with good penetration leading to some very impressive scoring in the lane. good luck to both teams I enjoyed watching you play.
  5. I don't know any of the columbia girls except for 1. I coached Nancy Moore as a 10, 11, & 12 in AAU. She is without a doubt the best athlete I've ever had the pleasure to coach. good luck in all endeavors Nancy.
  6. Gail; thanks for your concern. #3 (red hair) is Casey Boyce & she is a key player who can come in either at the 1, 2, or 3 position & the team plays on as if nothing has changed. However, to answer your question, the trainers think she has torn the ACL & she is going for x-rays & so forth tomorrow. We wish her the best of luck & our prayers are with her & hope you will pray for her too.
  7. please list the teams in 11AA I am not familiar with them.
  8. It was a barn burner & I saw a bunch of girls pulling out all the stops on both teams. It was a thrilling game to watch with the lead swapping back & forth several times. Congratulations to both teams for a job well done. The boys game was equally consuming, but the Vikes lost by "1". I wish attendance would go up; for sports fans are missing out by failing to enjoy seeing games such as this one.
  9. I know a high school team that has professional scouts to go & watch the other teams play before they have to play them. I'll bet it's cheaper to have them videoed.
  10. Last nite's games were 2 of the best I've seen all year I have to say all 4 teams were impressive no one ever gave up & both games were exciting rite down to the end. If all the games were like those, attendance at the games would definitely increase. Congratulations to all those players & coaches who participated in the games, you all did a great job.
  11. If Cooley is out, Queens win by 5 or 10; if Cooley is in it's a toss up.
  12. Monday nite the Shelbyville 5th & 6th grade Traveling Team made way to Liberty Jr. High School to produce yet another thrilling & entertaining contest in which they emerged victoriously. It was a fast paced game but everyone seemed to know what they were doing. Liberty has an excellent young coach & has good height & some fairly well skilled young ladies on their team. However, I thought the Shelbyville kids showed more poise & composure even though they are 2 & 3 years younger than the other team. I'm told that most of their team starters will be eligible for the same AAU team; this could get very interesting in the next few years if they can stay together & continue to improve.
  13. If U want to get started with the 5th % 6th grade traveling team for next year, OR if u want to talk to someone about trying out for an AAU team this spring U shold contact Boyd West or coach Insell. The 5th & 6th grade team is not an AAU team & their season runs concurrent with Jr. High. This is where the Shelbyville program begins.
  14. the smart money had better not discount the U'ville Queens, they will easily be in the top 4 with their new players & new program & new coach.
  15. If u get a chance check out the little fifth & sixth graders playing on those (traveling teams). I recently watched a game between Shelbyville & Coffee County & it was very exciting & I was really amazed to see how well skilled some of those young ladies were. They are in the beginings of a very good program & it shows.
  16. talk about being left hi & dri that's just what coach Thompson did to the girls & the principal at unionville. I really hope the incoming coach will show just a little more respect for those who are working thier backsides off to have a team. the girls have seen no action since last season so I'd say they're going to be a little behind in the early going. I just want to wish them & their new coach lots of luck & hopefully a successful season.
