  1. Meigs is healthy on both sides of the ball and looking forward to this rematch. A lot of weapons on offense and a defense that shut down a good Harriman line.

  4. Meigs looked good against Harriman. I think the Tigers have finally figured out they are good. What do you think about next week?
  5. Meigs by 7 in a close won.Harriman is a good team.I think Meigs has a more balance atack on both sides of ball.
  6. Meigs will not over look Midway, they are making improvement each week on both sides of the ball.Take my tigers 35 to 14 if we continue open the play book.
  7. Tigers played great last night at Grace yet they came up short again. Turnovers were the difference in the game. Coach Fitzgerald is doing a great job with the boys. However, the offense MUST open up the play book if we want a chance at the play offs. I hope the offensive coordinator watches a lot of film this weekend. Also, quarter back could run the ball more because he is capable. Don't get me wrong, the boys played hard, and I have a tremendous amount of respect for the coach. This year is a huge turn around from the past. However, there is always room for improvement and opportunity to learn. The offensive play calling needs to do just that. Keep up the good work Tigers.
  8. Rocker is a great ath. but the kid can't carry the load both ways. Four years have proved that playing football.don't believe his knee is blow out.
  9. I will give some credit to the offense. They tried to get away from the spread a little. They threw the ball the first half but not so much the second. Defense well lets just say Central made adjustments on their offense and we didn't make any adjustments on special teams or defense. That is no ones fault but the coaches. The boys played hard and played with heart. I was glad to see that. We can't keep putting the blame on the boys coaches. If you don't know what to do- you would think you would be figuring it out but no!!!!! Come on administration...enough is enough! Find us a quality coaching staff. We need the pride back!
  10. I agree! The writing was on the wall. What I don't understand is why the principal didn't see it then and can't see it now. HC is a nice man but not a head coach. DC needs to go back where he came from.
  11. Ha ha! You sound like one of the coaches. Maybe they should have looked at a change after they had two loosing seasons in a row. Change would have been effective in the Spring of this year but no they keep doing the same ole thing. If it didn't work the first two years then why would they think it would work again this year. We can not run a spread, linebackers do not know how to be linebackers (never been taught), and kids can't tackle. Fans go to the game because they either love the kids or love football. They want to see success. They must be loyal fans to keep coming back week after week. That is pride. I agree with one thing you said... Only idiots think you can change in a week. It has been 5 long years and it looks worse then ever. WE NEED CHANGE!
  12. I could not agree more!!!! Spread the word we need help. Those boys deserve more. It just is not fair. Fast change needs to take place. Meigs needs a coaching staff like 1994 had. They deserve that and the fans desire that.
  13. Amen brother! Preach it!! Finally someone who has a clue about what they are talking about. The issue here is....does the current coaches have the knowledge and ability to make the necessary changes even if they wanted to. I do not believe they know how. Great guys but they honestly have no idea how to fix any of the problems. It has been 5 years without a winning season. The principal's son is the quarter back. You would think he would want to fix the problem. They are grasping at straws, and it makes me sick for the kids. They deserve better!
  14. Some play multiple sports, but there are several good athletes that either quit or did not come out because they knew with the same coaches they would get the same results.... a loosing season. The majority of the problem is not the players. It is how they are prepared and game day stratagy that does it.
  15. I'm going to start off by saying it can not be the players. You can not continue to blame this on the players. Maybe that worked the first year, but it is time we tell the truth. These are the same boys that were extremely successful in Jr. ball. In my opinion, management has thrown their hands up. I can not believe the principal or higher ups have not done something about this. So much for stepping down to single A ball. We are still going to end up last in the district. The coaches have NO idea how to adjust. For one, what does the head coach do? Vestal was offensive coordinator last year and now he is defensive coordinator. Friday night was a disgrace to Meigs County. The coaches had no idea what so ever how to adjust and stop them from scoring. Most coaches make adjustments but not them. They keep doing the same thing then say the boys are not doing their job or they don't have heart. Being a home town boy don't make you a coach and certainly don't win ball games. Now lets talk about offense. WHY? Why are we running a spread offense? We do not have the athletes to run a spread. Rockwood's second string played the entire second half and we could not score on them until the last couple of minutes into the game. It doesn't take a genius to figure this out. If it isn't working - CHANGE! What is going on? Where is our pride? We need to do something to turn this around. We haven't had a winning season in five years. Am I the only one who is over it????????
  16. There are a few experienced players. One good one (Wilson) is hurt. Not sure if he will be back or not this season. The coaching staff well I am not sure how experienced they are. You can have a group of good athletic boys but if you don't have knowledge on how to coach them and finish....then I am not sure things will be much different than last year. I don't know what has happen since 1996 or who is to blame but Meigs County's football program has really went down hill.
  17. Well I guess we saw! I can't believe they are running a spread offense. I am not sure I get that at all. I saw some possitive play calling from time to time, but they could not get the job done when it come down to it. Deffense was weak. I'm telling you it will tell the tell when they play Sweetwater. If they don't beat them it is going to be a heck of a long season.
  18. Does anyone have any thoughts on Meigs Co football season? What do you think it will be like?
