From what I seen at the game last night south Pitt will be able to do what they want offensively against most 1a teams. They have good speed like they always do. Good athletes. But defensively they are soft. Basin run right at them and had a lot of success. A lot of times basin backs were out ahead running for the end zone but we're too slow and got caught from behind by sp's speed. South Pitt will win the district with ease and should only lose to Boyd the rest of the way but i don't see a deep run this season unless the D improves between now and the playoffs.

i seen some good football played in the first half Friday from the Cougars as it was a 14-6 ball game at half. Enough good football to have a good feeling about us winning this game. I got CB BY 2-3 td's

Well I was dead wrong. Them boys got the best of us the 2nd half. However that is possibly one of the worst hayesville teams I've seen. But they were better than us tonight so gotta tip your hat to them. 41-13 hayesville final.

I believe we will pull this one out. We are the better football team. We have just made some bad mistakes. If we can cut them down this second half, we will win.

They did have a rough record last year but they gave us everything we wanted at home last year. We were down late in that game and then made a drive for the win with time running out. So they definitely can't be taken lightly and the fact that the game will be in NC with NC refs you may as well put us down 7 points before we even kickoff. But I think it should be another good game.

I don't know how this one will go. I wasn't able to be at the game last night but I heard after a few scores a few of our boys layed down. If that's the case it might be a long year for us. But the bright spots to look at is that we were missing two seniors on the OL/DL last night that are really our anchors. The kids replacing them had a rough night last night from what I heard. So I expect things to get a little better when we get them back. However I don't believe they will be back this week and hayesville always has a good line. The line we see from hayesville will be better than the one we seen last night. They fire off low and hard. They will try to run it down our throat if it's the traditional hayesville style football team. I don't know if we will be good enough up front without those guys to handle them. But we will find out. I just hope to see our boys fight for four quarters no matter what the circumstances.

Got to say this was an impressive win. I figured Coalfield would win simply because they could spread the monterey D out and pass on them. Must have played some hard nose defense as well to stop that monterey run game. But I didn't expect this big of a win. Congratulations! Idk but i'm assuming that this is coalfield's first ever trip to the title game? Not gonna lie, I am definitely not the biggest Coalfield fan at all, but I do like to pull for the underdog and especially the east teams so I will be rooting for you boys come friday. After hearing all this talk about UC, I would like to see a small town bunch like Coalfield pull off something special. It may not be possible but that's why you play the game. It's all about who can be the best team for one game now. everthing done previously doesn't mean anything. Good luck to you guys! go get it.

Well looks like this is the end of the road for us. Monterey is a good ball team very tough and relentless running attack. Good defense.. With that being said coalfield will make it to te state championship simply because they can spread Monterey out and pass the ball. Our offense hasn't been able to pass all year and most of the game Monterey literally and I do mean literally had 11 in the box. We couldn't do much of anything running then. So I will say if coalfield can pass block long enough for the qb to get it out of his hands they will win handley. Also as bad as I hate to say it I am pulling for coalfield. Monterey threw a pitch pass with like 3 to go up by 8 so go coalfield! Lol wish we could've made it to play y'all boys. That would've been a good heated contest! But goodluck to you boys!

you know cb never gets any respect from nobody, we are used to it that's fine. Gotta earn it to deserve it and that's what we hope to do. We haven't yet said we are world beaters just excited to see our team playing well like any fans should be but seems to me y'all can't stand that. Coalfield hasn't beaten anyone relevant either and if we are not good y'all are only 2 points better. And before you say it yes we know your boy was out and yes he is a good player but I mean he has struggled through injuries for the past couple of years and the team has had to find a way without him before so I don't really think you can use that as a crutch. But by no means am I downing your boy either he is a good back just has been bitten by the injury bug a lot. But if that makes you mad whatever.

the cougars will see a little bit of both teams plays and defenses this week I would think but I'm sure the focus will be on sp because all in all no disrespect to clay county at all but sp is sp and we are banking on them getting passed the first round. But they play the game for a reason so we'll have to wait until after Friday to really focus in on the opponent.

For the first time in a long time the west is overall stonger than the east. From what i have heard on here all year, the team that wins the east should just show up to cookeville and get the silver ball and go on home because Union City is outstanding this year.

First off, we played you close with many key players. Your boy went down early which hurt ya'll for sure. He is a good player, but stewart and the second string back was still there. still had the young, talented qb the whole time...so with that being if you was missing any other key players I haven't heard of them. and we played most of the second half with freshman that had never had any high school experience before. Also who else have you beaten that is really noteworthy?

yeah I agree. that's why I was wondering why it turned into a sp-jasper thread for a few but I understand with a heated rivalry like that, with people from both sides commenting, it's eventually gonna come up.

haha okay buddy, we got it. You don't have to say they will mercy rule us 10 more times for it to sink in once is good enough. But this MC team will be the best team we've seen all year. It will be a tall task for us and it may not be possible but hey that's why they play the game. Zeman is a stud. I played against him when he was a freshman and sophomore and he was a tough boy so I know he is gonna be tough to handle now. But MC also has other athletes in the backfield that are dangerous so you can't necessarily key in on zeman. Their defense seems to have picked it up from past years as we'll. like I said...tough task but our boys won't back away from it. I hope for a good game but especially hope we can make it through this one healthy cuz we have the Boyd bucks next week with district championship hopes on the line.
