Question BPM. How close is SG to being 4A?

I thank no about 100 or less. I would say look at enrollments but next year will be the ones that matter. Tssaa will base the next classification cycle off of this coming fall enrollments

They need to be 4A, I think it'll be better for them to be 4A in football. It'll balance the Region 7-4A and it'll give Martin Westview fans realistic expectations to make the playoffs year in and year out. However, Region 7-3A can't afford to let Milan drop to 2A, them though it's a slim chance.

If u read the post no one from Haywood  has mention coach Simmons name since they removed him from his duties. Haywood was doing good before he got the job and we will be back on top very soon

Well, y'all went M.I.A this season, but we'll see. With their being inconsistency issues at Haywood basketball, Tomcats are a football school for sure.

  3. Since Haywood fans can't move on from Coach Simmons, I thought this could've been a good fit for Haywood. For Coach Simmons, in terms of basketball perspective, this was a job promotion, but it was also a challenge for him. To say that Coach Simmons can't coach is ridiculous. USJ was a good, quality, basketball team. Now, they're average. USJ has been D-2 for a while, it's not like they're in TCA shoes, where they had to move to the D2 level.

    When Simmons was at USJ, he went 18-9 (2013-14), 21-8 (2014-15), 23-9 (2015-16), 19-10 (2017-18), 20-13 (2018-19).

    *Simmons leaves for Haywood*

    USJ in 2018-2019 went 16-13

    This year, Bruins went 10-16

In 2018-2019 season, Haywood went 19-12 (Simmons only season)

In 2019-2020 season,, Haywood went 11-16

Point is, Haywood should've been more patient. However, the inability to "stick things out" is something Haywood will regret.

This is absolutely the worst district in all of America! Like, everybody's playing for experience, just knowing they don't stand a chance against Southside. Our kids at Northside won't ever win, regardless of talent, because our coaches suck! Southside will beat us by 30 on Tuesday! I'm thinking about staying at home!

Flipping subjects: Somebody needs to get a handle on the little boy from McNairy, #12 White! He has the worst temper I've seen! He tries to fight someone in every game and intensionally tries to hurt someone! He is a cancer to that team! If he ever does anything to my child, I'm going to help mine whoop his lil tail! It's ridiculous!!

    North Side poster? Who's this?

Hoofkin was a great coach so I wouldn't say they finally got the "Right Coach".  There is no doubt that Haywood is one of very few favorites to make it out of the West each year in 4a.  How they didn't make it last year even without the FSU commit or the RB that has D1 offers is the confusing part because no "offense" to Springfield they didn't have a good showing against Elizabethton.  I could name 3 teams out of the East last year that were better than the Springfield team that Haywood was beaten by.  Can Haywood make the huge leap in one year we shall see because Elizabethton is bringing back their entire team....

Hookfin was a great coach at Haywood and Liberty, but his main issue was the fact that he could never get his team over the hump. The boys in Brownsville are different. They're fast, athletic, and huge at all positions on the field. I'm not worried about the "past results" from Haywood. I heard the kid that went to Florida State only played football for one season, is that true? Smith will give credit for winning and potentially getting this team to Cookeville, which will happen in the next two seasons for sure. However, a lot of Haywood's success should be credited by Hookfin, just that a lot of people will give Smith credit. If there was no Hookfin at Haywood, then there would be no Smith.

SG was up by a good amount, up by about 10 at half time. SG let off the pedal and Obion came back and was up by about 6 at the end of the third. Obion played “keep away” and didn’t even try to score for the rest of the game. SG got the ball very few times and Obion pretty much held it out until SG was forced to foul.

And this post right here is the reason why we need a 30 second shot clock in the state of Tennessee.

Yes Josh Puckett is yalls man! Throw the bank at him and get him the heck out of LC.

I'm surprised coach Frost from Riverside's name doesn't come up more in coaching searches. Not many guys in the area gets as.much out of his players as him

Haha you only want him to get out of Tiptonville because you know it's the main roadblock that's stopping West Carroll from winning district. Regarding from Frost, I agree. However, I believe he is fine in Parsons.

Listed below are teams who have been nominated by other TNSCA schools for the Top Ten Teams of the state. These are only member schools of the Tennessee Softball Coaches Association. If your team isn't listed it could be that they are not members and we encourage everyone to join.

We are now taking nomination for our All-Academic Teams from our members schools and we want all schools to be a part of this association to have your players honor.

This year will be be having a All Star Games for underclassman to be showcase in front of College Coaches. This game will be played the day before our Senior All Star Games. Again only member schools players will be able to be part of this game. So we hope that your school joins and enjoys the benefits of being a member.

Don't get the purpose of having a coaches poll with only specific members of the state. In addition, I don't get the purpose of having a poll in baseball/softball anyway. How do you know whether if Soddy Daisy is better than Dyer County, or if Greenville is better than Covington? I don't get it. Baseball teams lose left and right. Just waisting time feeling out a coaches poll. Seems political as well.

Didn't Fayette Ware get bounced this season from the playoffs by Ripley? I don't know if they can be considered top 10 with a weak schedule like they play. Although, I will give you credit because I think it is hard to put teams in the the last couple spots based off last years finish. I do think either Jackson Northside or Southside will be on this list however just not sure which one. I also think 2 to 3 teams from region 7-4A will be on this list before its all said and done. At least that has what it has been in

Fayette Ware lost 28-18 to a horrible Bolivar team last year. That doesn’t speak well for them.

    recent years.

People have been putting in a sleeper team, and Fayette Ware is mine. Trust me, North Side would be in the top 10 over Fayette Ware, but if everyone is putting in a sleeper team, the Wildcats would be my sleeper team, even though I would still choose North Side over them. It's my fault for not addressing that as my initial sleeper. I'm also not doing my list based off what happened in 2019, more of what I expect to happen in 2020.

But despite having a weak schedule, Fayette Ware scored over 30 points a game offensively last year. Yes, they dropped a game to Bolivar in which they shouldn't. But FW doubled the amount of wins as what a lot of people expected last year. If Wallace being their OC and actually having a full offseason at Fayette Ware, who knows what could be on the horizon. They were playing for the right to win their district last year against Millington, which they lost. They'll host Millington this year.

Region 7-4A to me will take a major step back in 2020. There's cloudy skies in Dyersburg, there's uncertainty in Crockett County, and Ripley and Obion Central are having a free for all in terms of who wants to end their season a week earlier than the other. Haywood is like a -2000 favorite to win that district.  I would much rather have momentum in which Fayette Ware has entering 2020, then have a lot of uncertainty and questions, which that's what the opponents that Fayette Ware will be playing in November. Wouldn't shocked me if they can make it to the quarterfinals.

Union City, Crockett, Westview and Ripley will be ball games unlike this last year. But LC is very capable of winning all 4. If I had to put money on it I would say 8-2 with those 2 losses being really close and helping to make them better for the playoffs. But wouldn’t surprise me if they went 10-0 again.

What's your expectation on both Ripley and Halls?

  11. I was shocked but this move, but after thinking about the current status of Union City, I'm not really surprised at this move as well. We all know that UC was one of the most successful programs across the state, last decade. But they struggled mightily in the years 2018 and 2019.

First thing is Peabody, in order to reach Cookeville in 2A, it runs through Trenton, hands down. But in 2018, the Tornadoes lost 56-14 and 35-0 in the playoffs. In 2019, the Tornadoes lost 63-14. To put that in perspective, they lost a combination of 154-28 to the Tide in the past two seasons. I know Lake County seemed like they put up 50+ to every single opponent in 2019, but putting up 58 to UC was a shocker to me. It seem like Union City went from a "train wreck and worldbeater" program, to an average team off the street. Everyone is not having a problem scoring off UC, and the Tornadoes offense can't keep up.

Looks like all the defensive coordinators are making the adjustment of dropping the safety and lowering the box, telling the cornerbacks to force everything inside. As @Tide21 is trying to reference, the Union City offense is NOT a system that is built for playmakers.

I don't know the current status of football that's going on in Obion County, but if I'm Obion Central and specifically the South Fulton Red Devils, they need to take full advantage of the mediocrity seasons that's going on at their neighboring school.

Also, These programs survive on the money that is collected at the gate. It is crucial to their program. Just another example of the world that we live in. Sad, but true.

There has been a general rule for people that are teachers or coaches at another school do not pay to get into sporting events. I think that should remain.

Trust me, Peabody is going to be okay financially. I think they can risk one game with a limited amount of gate money. Kudos for them for doing this and not postponing the game, I think they would have to play this game anyway due to district status for both teams.

I realize this is off topic but I wanna hear your guys opinion, and we jaw all season so, I am asking for leniency here.

    - Chiefs hold every play on o line

    - Cheifs offsides on d multiple times, never called.

    - Garbage OPI call on Kittle end of 1st half.

    - Late hit out of bounds to JG, no call

    - Targeting to JG, no call

    - No DPI on Cheifs 3rd Q (SF scored anyway to go up 20-10)

Shanahan didn't do his team any favors, wasting a possession end of 1st half and abandoning the run so KC's d could use their offisdes jumping to their advantage and tee off on JG.

Seems the NFL wanted a pre packaged result for Reid and Mahomes.

We know Vegas runs the world. I've heard the players are aware that certian results will be scripted like WWE, and they are ok with it because they make more when the NFL makes more.

    Thanks for reading.

Apparently, you were pulling for San Francisco to win, so was I. However, the officials didn't determined this game. They only called like 9 penalties throughout the game. They didn't want any part of this year's Super Bowl, which was good knowing that it was the 100th year of the NFL.

Chiefs didn't call for holding on their offensive line is apparent, but when they played the Titans, they didn't get called for a holding penalty either.

Chiefs got caught being offsides on defense plenty of times. Throughout the game, I didn't see where they were offside, that didn't get called.

Kittle OPI wasn't a garbage call, it was the correct call in my book. Yes, the KC defender sold it, but Kittle has to understand that if you're a tight end, you can't push off, he's too big. Correct call.

We as a society has bashed officials too much, but we have to give them the benefit of the doubt. I thought the officiating for the Super Bowl was well ran. We bashed them too much for a few reasons, the replay that we see on TV is slow, and the camera angles are different then what we see from the officials point of view. I hope that next year, we can't get rid of "slow replay action" from TV companies. It's not fair for the officials. They worked hard, let's give them credit.

  14. There's a lot of schools that are 7 hours away from West Tennessee that can really use Chloe. I'm just wondering how many of those schools that are within a 7 hour range, know Chloe? There's nothing wrong with playing at a mid-major type school. The expectations have been SEC or bust for a lot of our athletes. Sometimes, you have to be extremely lucky to play SEC ball in any sport.

Same here. Not sure how I feel yet. Not enough info. 1-9 last season & 20 points offensively doesn’t sound too impressive for an OC....time will tell.  Trying to be open minded.....

Unfortunately, Westview didn't hire my guy, which I thought would be a perfect fit for Westview, as I indicated back on page 1 of this thread. It's a head scratcher for sure, I wish y'all the best!

FACT...2 coaches have turned the job down. There are others that pulled their name from consideration for the position. Where there is smoke, there is fire & seems to me, there’s a whole lot of smoke. Funny how you continue to refer to your “inside sources”, but yet have no idea what you are talking about. The truth is,  no successful, proven coach seems to want the HC job at Westview. The BIG question we all need to be asking is why?

Sooo. To this point, no one on this website has mentioned the coach I believe would be perfect for Westview. However, he does not have any "head coaching experience" but everything else checks the box for the Chargers. Due to privacy and respect, I will not mention his name until Westview has announced their coach.
