  1. Congrats to the Morristown Little league. Playing tomorrow night for the little league world series title on ESPN!
  2. Looks like 14U Phillys won the NSA A World Series in Charlotte. Chattanooga Force finished 9th in that tournament. Saw that 14U Cruisers lost first round of ASA Nationals in Owensboro, KY
  3. Blue Thunder from Alabama won the 14U B division over a mainly 13 year old Wynsom team from Rogersville. Interesting that about half the 16U Triple Threat team are 14 & 15 year olds from Rogersville also.
  4. A breakthrough season for a very young Cherokee team with no respresentation on this list! Hmmmm!!! STAY POSTED!
  5. How about 14U. Last I saw it looked like Nashville Cruisers and Philly's would be squaring off in the championship.
  6. Saw the world series a couple of years ago and a girl from LSU who was All-American more than once threw nothing over 58!
  7. Jeff County uses the long ball, going deep three times for 6 runs in beating Cherokee 7 to 1 winning the District 2 AAA title.
  8. Three girls from Cherokee: Kristen Dyer - Sophomore Savannah Ewing - Freshman Ashlee Price - Freshman The future looks pretty bright!
  9. Jeff County jumps out early and rolls on to 10 to 4 victory over Cherokee in the first game of District 2 AAA championship. 2nd game currently under rain delay.
  10. Cherokee 8 East 5 in 8 innings after Cherokee trailed 5 to 2 going into the 7th. Looks like Cherokee wants it bad. Go Chiefs
  11. I saw a small framed freshman short stop hit 3 no doubters in the same game for Morristown East over Dobyns Bennett in the Eastman classic earlier this year.
  12. How about Cherokee 5......Jeff County 2 Way to go Lady Chiefs!!!!!!
  13. It's the suggestion that Oneida pushing OS in the semi's "may have been a factor in the championship". BULL!
  14. Once again KAZ....Oliver Springs was beaten last year by a great team...you should stop discounting Rogersville's championship.
  15. None taken, KAZ. I just wish we were going to be there thursday night to see what should be a real barnburner of a game.
  16. Oh well......no Oliver Springs - Rogersville rematch! Eagleton defeated Rogersville 41 to 29 tonight. Let me take the opportunity to thank coach Renner of the Rogersville City School Lady Warriors for a great run. Your influence on these young ladies over the past three years has been nothing but positive and will provide them with fond memories for years to come. This group of girls have had much success under your leadership. The list of achievements during their three years of basketball at RCS include: 53 wins 1 conference championship 2 TMSAA area 1 championships 1 TMSAA sectional championship The best part for RCS is that it will not stop there. There is a great group of 5th, 6th and 7th graders coming through that will certainly continue the winning ways and I wish them the best. Congratulations Eagleton and best of luck with the rest of the tournament.
  17. Jeffers, I was told OS had won 43 straight ballgames before the loss in the championship last year. It appears that they are 20 - 0 this year. Losing one game in 64 over three years.....WOW!!!! It's easy to understand how people might consider the championship game last year a fluke. I just happen to know the Rogersville ball players well, and trust me, it was no fluke. That group of girls are impact players already on an improving Cherokee High school program. Our girls knew exactly what they were facing last year. They had met up with the Christopher girl during summer tournament ball from 10U years. Like I said. This is an entirely different team at Rogersville this year, but they have a lot of heart and are looking forward to playing at Caton's Chapel.
  18. University won the girls consolation Rogersville defeated Sullivan in the finals 35 to 29 University also won the boys consolation
  19. I find it amusing the number of posts that discount last year's Oliver Springs loss in the championship at Caton's Chapel. No doubt OS had and has one of the best middle school teams I have ever seen. Especially the guard who rained 3's out of the sky in the championship game like there was nothing to it. But OS got beat by a great group of girls from Rogersville who put their own undefeated season together based on unmatched defensive basketball and fiercely disciplined board work. Early in last year's sectional tournament a fan from area 4 quipped that "if we were there for the girl's tournament, we were playing for second, because OS couldn't be beat". That served as wonderful fuel for the eventual championship that Rogersville EARNED! The Rogersville girls are coming back to Caton's Chapel as the number 1 seed from area 1. They aren't sporting the talent heavy undefeated team from last year, but they come with a lot of heart. This should be a lot of fun!
