  1. As far as the decision to not have a banquet, I'm not sure how that took place, but this was not the first time Monterey had made the playoffs. They had made it 17 previous times. They were district champs and made the playoffs last year. This was just their first time winning a playoff game and obviously the first time being in the Semis. District banquets are always special.
  2. This game was as lopsided as it sounded. Monterey could not keep from shooting themselves in the foot, and could not sustain drives once they did something positive which is crucial for them. MHS's run defense wasn't bad in the 1st half, it was the pass that was hurting them and that they didn't have an answer for. Unlike what someone said though Monterey had more than 150 yards of offense Pretty sure MHS' RB had close or more than 200 yards rushing alone. This game was probably the worst Monterey had played in a couple months. Now does that make a difference in a win or loss? Probably not, but if Monterey played more like themselves the game is probably a 14-21 point game. Congrats to Coalfield. Monterey now joins everyone else who is beginning to prep for the next season. They only lose about 4 seniors so hopefully they can continue with the momentum they started this year. Work hard this offseason Wildcats!
  3. If Coalfield does win it won't be by 28. Wildcat defense is playing really good right now. I think it will surprise many just how close these two teams will be.
  4. Yes actually we do, no one is saying we don't. My point was, this thread is about the game this week. Next week you can tell us all you want about whichever team it is that makes it from the West.
  5. You would know cause you've seen them play this year right? You may have seen Coalfield play but I'm pretty certain you haven't seen Monterey play. And yeah that's what this thread is about, the game this week.
  6. I wouldn't over look the Wildcats and count your chickens before they hatch if I was you. The Wildcat's will come ready to play and are a physical bunch.
  7. Lets stay humble and take it one week at a time Wildcats! I believe we can win this one if we stay focused on the task at hand!
  8. Lets stay humble and take it one week at a time Wildcats!
  9. Technically its not a neutral site. Tech is Monterey's home field for now... and now that I think about it MHS is 5-0 there this year. 4 of those coming against some pretty good teams. So I'll take the Wildcats by 8 this week. They are playing some good ball right now.
  10. He was talking about a halfback pass, because from the stands it looked like CB was loading the box and bringing everyone to stop the run so they let the RB suck everyone in and throw it. Looked like a good call to me to seal the game. What type of immature things are you talking about? Cause I remember them pulling there starters on you guys at the beginning of the 4th quarter when they could have kept scoring. Their coach is not young and has experience in some big games before so I don't think you could call him or the team immature. I was just curious as to what you are talking about.
  11. I hardly believe 28-8 is running up the score. Honestly at that point it was 21-8 so another score to seal the game was needed.
  12. Yeah but I'd rather be there and get crushed than not go at all!
  13. CB has got to win one more before you have that opportunity! Might want to take it one week at a time!
