If numbers were that big a factor East shouldn't be as good as they are now. If I'm not mistaken their numbers are lower than they have been in the past seasons when they haven't been as successful. They definitely aren't better now because they have less students.

Injuries affects the larger schools as well.I'd admit maybe not as much as a smaller school, but injuries devastated us last year. If we have injuries it's an excuse but if a smaller school has injuries it's a reason. The other factors you listed are much more important than the numbers.

I just hate hearing the EXCUSE that Whitehaven is supposed to win or has some type of advantage because we have a larger student body and more D1 athletes. There are plenty of potentially D1 athletes all over the state. It's just the ones at Whitehaven and other schools with good programs have a better chance to fulfill that potential. No more excuses, unless a team is just out there playing iron man football there is NO advantage in numbers. Schools with numbers lose ALL the time to smaller schools, it's not about the quantity but the quality, East and Trez prime examples.

Numbers do matter for enrollment and classification purposes only. Just because a school has 2000 students and one has 1000 doesn't mean the one with most students will b better. East would 9 times out of ten beat most schools with similar enrollment as Whitehaven (Cordova, Southwind, Germantown, Arlington, Collierville, etc). It's takes more than numbers to have a good football team and more importantly a good program. Numbers don't give us any more of an advantage than it gives the other schools I just named. I'd say COMMUNITY SUPPORT, tradition of winning, and good coaching will negate all the differences that numbers will present. To say that Whitehaven is good ONLY because we have a lot of students is just plain silly.

East hasn't made it past the 2nd round since the year 2000. The defending 16aaa champs that can't beat anyone outside of shelby county. Yall should be more focus on that than putting so much energy into hating Whitehaven.
