  1. I know there aren't a lot of posters on here from either school but did anyone attend the game? Had a Brentwood parent complaining that it went way past being chipping to downright dangerous. I watched it on tv and know that it must have been a dirty hit on #4 for Coach Crawford to be that upset but the parent said that they heard that they contemplated not coming back out after half. It sounds crazy to me and probably just sour grapes but I want to get someone else's take on it that might have been there. Take into consideration that the parent also told me that the game was closer than the score which I totally disagree with.
  2. I'll say Brentwood in a close one. The winner to the finals to be either Maryville's or Oakland's sacrificial lamb, losing by 30+.
  3. Ding, Ding, Ding...We have a winner, as good as Crawford is if he came back when Pemberton left he wouldn't have won 1 or 2 more than Woodward did, if that. Tough schedules and lack of talent can make anyone look bad. Just don't tell the parents in control that their kids don't have talent or they will fire you.
  4. It will be interesting to see how long it takes Crawford to pry the program back from the parents who have been running it since he has been gone. I would say that it is unlikely that they will co-exist. Woodward was just a scapegoat for a tough schedule and the least talented team Brentwood has had in years, but that is hard for parents to realize when you're talking about their kids. I'm sure Crawford will be diplomatic but no way the program will be run the same way it was while he was gone. Moving out of 6A will help more than anything along with better talent moving up. He is great coach and they will have instant success but that's not saying the same wouldn't have happened with Woodward.
  5. The ball is in Crawford's court.
  6. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of that either but you are seeing it more and more. I guess bands are doing it after seeing others do to their team. Being a larger stadium you don't notice it as much because I didn't hear Ravenwood's band but Maryville band did it as well, being across from them I could hear them. Maryville probably doesn't hear much because they are in control of most games early and often. In Memphis Whitehaven's band was rockin' until we took control of the game and you didn't hear a note.
  7. i told you we had faced back fields as good or better than yours. You saying we weren't the toughest is subjective. The fact that you scored your first offensive td with less than two minutes remaining is objective! Don't give the three turnover crap, your "D1" qb was baited into the picks by the best D you've seen this year, the FACTS back that up!
  8. a stud but not Jefferson, Austin Percy is the nickel back probably won't see him much, they play base 95% of the time.
  9. Have you seen Ravenwood play or any tape on Ravenwood? I've seen WHS tape through the playoff and they must be better than they look on tape b/c they aren't so much better than RHS that they have to play bad and RHS play good for Ravenwood to get the win. I don't see anything on tape that makes WHS look like a far superior team.
  10. RHS has faced some similar backfields in Overton and LaVergne. Both of those teams have SEC caliber talent and run hard down field.
  11. Franklin and Ravenwood play a lot of seniors and both have a lot of seniors with talent. Both will be down next year but still should be competitive. Franklin will be replacing a three year starter at quarterback and Ravenwood will only have about 5 total returning starters.
  12. Rematches can cause issues but I feel like RHS is much more well rounded on offense and Ravenwood's defense is playing really well. If CHS can keep the scoring low they have a chance but if there is much scoring I don't think CHS's secondary can hang with Ravenwood's talented WRs. Props to Centennial and their coaching staff they've put themselves in position to make a run to the state championship, something not people were talking about 13 weeks ago. I'll predict: RHS 27 CHS 14
  13. If it going to take Hester winning the state to return to Brentwood then he won't be going. RHS may very well make it to the finals but if they win it all Hollywood should come calling because it will be an upset for the ages to win over Oakland, Blackman or Maryville. I'm not sure what would be Hester's motivation to coach or what his family would want him to do but winning and/or winning state would be easier at Brentwood. They will be in a smaller classification, their young talent is better and the support is a little stronger. Ravenwood has the most talent they have had since they won it all ten years ago and most of it is graduating. Couple that with the fact that in 2 years they won't be getting Nolensville boys any more unless Ravenwood can get back to 5A they are going to have a tough time. There are positive and negatives to both to both schools, I hope the one with the most weight will be the relationships he has created with the young men over the last 2 years and he will stay put. If he decides to go I hope he realizes that the parents who are courting him now will turn on him like a snake if they or their kids don't get what they want.
