  1. Thanks for your reply. However, if what you say is happening, I feel sad for that student because LCA is the place where you can get a really good education and the administration is not going to have it any other way. They are serious about not playing if you are not passing. You don't touch the field if your grades are not up to par. Now, I can't say what happened at another school, but I do know that the standards for these kids at LCA are not lowered. No feathers ruffled here,
  2. I wasn't speaking in terms of violence, I was making a reference as to his feelings. As a kid, he doesn't believe that bad things will happen in his world because his innocence is still intact. God still exist in his world and school. It is important to me that HE feels safe and loved. HE feels like the teachers and administration cares about him, that is worth every dime that I pay to LCA.
  3. I stand corrected, I meant Houston Cty. Forgive?
  4. My son is a starter! My son has a 3.8 GPA! My son was starting on his public school team! But most important, my son has the ability to pray in school, feels loved and safe at LCA!!!!!
  5. Wow, these are kids that you are speaking of. The fans didn't make the decision, the school did. What Would Jesus Do? God bless you.
  6. LCA lowers their standards for NO ONE!!! If you can't perform in the classroom, you don't touch the field. They really help kids to improve their ACT, the average ACT score at LCA is 26. There are NO athletic scholarships, every student is processed through FACTS management and then kids are awarded funds based on their ability to function academically. I can see that there is really no point in explaining this, no one is listening! God bless and keep you all.
  7. No, not in TSSAA. LCA plays in NACA. And Thank you. At LCA they go back to old school educating. It really isn't about the sports, now I'm not telling you that the kids, parents, and administration doesn't care about the sports program, they do. It's just not their main focus. At LCA they work very hard to get kids in college for the academics more than the athletics. That's my reason for my child attending.
  8. The Hoe field does not belong to LCA. There maybe a situation with the middle school, as the field is not LCA's. Most middle school teams don't have bands, so it maybe that they may not want bands playing on their field. Most middle schools don't have the ability to maintain a football field the way that high schools do. I'm not saying that is the reason, but it would make sense.
  9. This schedule was made by Watson last year. A lot of the teams agreed to play LCA because they were expecting an easy win. LCA was JB homecoming the third game of the year, really? It feels good to allow LCA seniors to get a little respect. They have been on LCA teams when LCA was 10-0, 0-10, 7-5, so they deserve a decent season. Do know that at LCA the focus is not about SPORTS, they work hard on building great students, getting them in and prepared for college. Football is just something they do for recreation ONLY, however winning at it is good as well. This is how it should be, educate first, then sports. These kids are not just playing to get into college, most of them will go to college on academic scholarships too. And in the process, they get to praise God!!!!
  10. TSSAA cost money that LCA, a small private school can't afford. LCA is not as into the sports program as they are into the educating of the kids. They have a football program that is doing well, however the players have to maintain at least a B average in the classroom. Watson left because his wife got into a Masters program at APSU, but even that isn't the issue, LCA has good athletes that are doing well at this time. I wonder if this would even be a discussion if Gordonsville had won.
  11. All of LCA players this year have been on the team since the Summer workouts started. There were no transfers in the last couple of weeks.
