  1. The only thing on this is that AC did not blow out Central like the score would indicate, AC pulled away late but Central was in that game for a long time, it was only 28-21 at the half, AC made some huge plays in the second half to pull away and defense stepped up un the second half but Central still managed 17 second half points, its just that AC's offense was unstoppable. What scares me about this AC Team is they are so inconsistent. If they had played like they did against Powell on Friday against Central then Central would have blown us out. The defense needs to step up huge the rest of the year because the Offense will not always hang up 60. I think this Team has the tools to do great things, but they are going to have to make adjustments on defense if they wish to make a deep run. If I am an offense coming into play AC then I am attacking the middle of the field all night with the seam routes and crossing patterns because our linebackers may be big and strong but they are also slow laterally and get lost in space. If AC plans on making a run against the big boys I say they need to put someone like #2 Johnson at Linebacker to stop those routs, and he can still play run support. Campbell County exploited that weekness then Powell hurt us there as well, we have to clean that up or we will not make it deep in the playoffs. Now with that all said I think AC can win the district and host a few playoff games and once you are in the playoffs its anyones game. I also think AC wins a close one Friday, maybe 28-24, then blows out Halls (I feel so sorry for that poor team) and then they will get Oak Ridge at Oak Ridge on Halloween night. A few weeks ago we were talking about that game being for first in the district, now that game may be a must win for Oak Ridge if they lose to Powell and Central, cuz that is possible in this district.
  2. That's pretty funny, what is even funnier is a lot of their coaching staff left CC to play at AC when they were in school, now they are trying to do just the opposite, pretty funny. If both teams win out and hit the playoffs hard it will be a collision coarse for a repeat of that game in the 2nd/3rd round. just this time it would be at AC if they both end 9-1. First thing First is they both have to take it a week at a time and take care of business, they both have tough games ahead of them. AC and Catholic, AC at OR and CC and Powell, anyone can win those games, just got to make sure its us
  3. Also if you are not an autimatic qualifier (1st or 2nd in district) non district games could be a huge part of wheather u even make it in the playoffs. For example say AC loses this game and then loses to Oak Ridge, that would put your top 3 in the district as CC, Powell and Oak Ridge, if the other districts finish with teams in 3rd or 4th place then it goes to overall wins, it would be possible to go 7-3 and not make playoffs, not probable, but possible...wasnt it only a year or 2 ago that like half of the teams in the 6a bracket were 9-1 or 8-2. Spots get hard to come by with this new format when half the bracket only has 1 loss
  4. Here are some standings from unapproved website website: Overall Record: AC 6-1, Catholic 6-0 District Record: AC 5-1, Catholic 2-0 National Ranking: AC 1,335 - Catholic 1,017 State Ranking: AC 36 - Catholic 26 Class Ranking: AC 7 - Catholic 4 Points Scored AC 306 - Catholic 176 Points Allowed: AC 156 - Catholic 61 Game Average Points: AC 44-22 / Catholic 29-10
  5. The main difference in the Powell Game was that AC tried disguising a short coverage in the second half with a linebacker responsible for 2 areas, when the Powell coaches caught on to this they ate it up, Powell and AC are very close athletically and AC has the better line, but Powell found the weakness and AC never adjusted, I would say good job by the Powell coaching staff on that one. That coverage is why on 3rd down and 15, Powell hit a swing pass in the left flat and had nothing but grass for 20 yards because the defender responsible took a middle seem route, then on 4th and 13 they ran the exact same play and the linebacker came up to cover the swing pass and Powell hit the seem route that he was also responsible for, good job by Powell, but what concerns me is that AC never adjusted out of that stupid coverage. With that said I think AC pulls out a very close game this week with a score of 28-24 or something in that range, I just expect Catholic to be more disciplined than Central was, but I think AC still pulls it out...I am biased though:)
  6. So best case for AC would be to win out and hope for CC or oak ridge to beat Powell. AC just needs to take care of business.
  7. Just curious, why exactly do we need Powell to lose? If we both finish with just 1 district loss then is the next qualifier for district champ overall wins or is it the head to head matchup in the district? If it was overall wins and AC and Powell bothe win out then that would put AC as district champ. I am not for sure on how this works with the new system? If its head to head than yes we need powell to have a loss, but if not then it would probably help if Powell won out, i need clarification on that though?
  8. I am pretty sure the fastest 40 time ever at AC was a guy by the name of Kenny Patterson, he ran like a 4.4 and they could not believe it, a legit 4.5 in high school is fast and a 4.4 is a blur:) 4.3 is unheard of unless you are a true D1 star talent and then it is rare. and Kenny Patterson was like 5'8 140, I have not seen Fox without his pads on but he looks more like 5'10 190. I also seen Fox get chased down at AE, so I guess that guy had to be running like a 4.1.
  9. something else, is Powells Schedule really that touph? I mean sereiously the only good team they have played is Fulton and they got blew out, granted so would AC or anyone else, but to put CAK up there is not realistic. Just because they are defending state champs does not make them a threat, after all most of those players are gone, its about the equivalent of saying that Halls is a tough game because they won a state championship in 86, they are not the same team or the same players whether its one season out or 30, does not matter. So then you have them losing to Central whish is not a powerhouse and you have beaten the following, A CAK team that is struggling by one point and a Karns team that is terrible...So comparing Schedules is not quite fair. Powell is a 2 point conversion from being 1-3 right now
  10. That's fine, I can understand that, I did not see any of the game, but to only beat Karns by 6? Penalties or not that just does not add up. AC did not have to drive and drives do not = the speed that is being talked about, I would have thought that Powell could have broke at least 2 more big plays, with penalties killing 5 drives Powell should have still beat them by 3 scores...Karns is Awful.
  11. AC 41 - Powell 27 OR 33 - Gibbs 14 CC 42 - Halls 13 Central 6 - Fulton 60
  12. I would say that Fox is in the low 4.5 range, the thing is though that so is Foust, Strickland and Johnson. With a better line and more overall team speed I think AC pulls this one out by 14. Still though with the history of this game there is no telling, this has become a pretty big rivalry the past few seasons and they just do not like each other. Las year AC was the clear underdog and almost pulled it out and a few seasons back Powell was undefeated and AC upset them in the playoffs at powell, so the underdog usually fairs well in this one. With that said, I just do not see how if Powell is that much of a threat, how did they only beat Karns 19-13 and AC was up on Karns 42-0 at the half. Not saying that matters, but just does not make sense, Karns did not have a good front or good team speed and contained powell offense.
