I heard the Price twins from Campbell County have applied and will interview(if they haven't already).

I heard Paul Shelton(Bearden OC) and Brad Taylor(former Bearden HC) have both applied for the job. I still don't understand why either of those guys would want this job. Also, HTV brought up that Joe Hassell(current Karns DC) has probably applied too. I wonder how long it will be until the Beavers make a hire.

Looks like the 10 day posting period is over, as I cannot find it on the Knox County HR listings website. Are the Beavers any closer to naming a coach than they were 10 days ago?? If so, who are the likely candidates?

Either way, I am looking forward to the atmosphere tonight. I hope both teams have 3,000 fans at the game. Two very good football teams battling it out, should be a fun game. Just hope the Admirals have more points at the end.

Thanks, we were certainly pulling for you guys too. Tonight will be a little tougher than most expect from everything I have heard about Cleveland. I haven't gotten to see them play at all, but from scores and talk on here, they are a much improved team from the beginning of the season and are playing pretty good football right now.

That's a great game plan no doubt. Those two alone gave us a scare last week.

Interesting to hear Thackerson played safety last night. Clinton's safety #11 got injured late in our game and Thackerson came in. I figured they would find someone else to play this week since he is essentially their entire offense. Sounds like him playing all night on defense and offense led to an under-powered Clinton offense.

You're right, beating Boone, Crockett, Sullivan schools, and Volunteer are quality wins......Give me a break. If DB had to play in a Knoxville region all of those years and play actual quality opponents, they would not be the state's winningest school.

Hard to agree with an Oak Ridge fan, but I couldn't agree more. We will know three scores after tonight, so here's to hoping.

They were not in the region last year. If you ask any of the Oak Ridge fans, they will tell you they are not a Knoxville team.

Funny how all the negativity comes out now about GC. Dan is finally not able to hide in the upper east corner of the state and beat up on Chukey Doak and Daniel Boone. Truth is, they are finally playing teams that at their own size and we see how they have faired.

Love all this talk about big boy football. It wouldn't surprise if region 4 goes 1-3 this week with the only winner being Rhea. That region talks year in and year out about how good they are and PA spews his usual BS about big boy football, but yet they never seem to do anything in the playoffs. Rhea was the exception last year, but couldn't beat a team from Knoxville.

Oldfan41, you prove my point. Independence beat a "very good" LaVergne team. LaVergne went 6-4 and lost to an awful Summit team. A win against LaVergne isn't impressive, its expected.

Who cares about 1A and 2A teams??? They play in parking lost of the school and have 300 kids in the school, a lot of times they are K-12. Those are the same schools that have 8th graders that are playing variety. If your school has an 8th grader that plays varsity, your school is a joke. 3A, it's Alcoa and everyone else. CPA and Liberty will battle for the chance to lose to Alcoa in Cookeville. 4A is Fulton way above everyone. I promise you Knox Central could play with any of those Memphis teams, and I think a healthy Knox Cathloic teams would do well against them too. 5A, this is where East TN is best. Oak Ridge , Rhea County, Morristown West, Sevier co, Knox west, Farragut, any of these teams could easily make it to Cookeville and would be much better tested than Indy, if Indy even makes it. All the good teams in Middle TN are 6A You say be happy that those teams are on the other side of the bracket. I would love those temas to come play the top 5 from East TN 5A, I promise you that the East wins 4 or 5 of those games. To the Chattanooga homers, give me a break, you beat up on each other and think you're good, then loose in the first round of the playoffs, exception being Rhea last year, but surprise, surprise, a Knoxville team won. 6A, one word, MARYVILLE.
